141: Chapter 141 Super Sandstorm! Facing Death to Survive

While Qin Feng was using the bionic spider to quickly gather information on the mine's terrain, Lanna suddenly made a decision.

She picked up a stone from the ground and, with all her strength, threw it toward the entrance of the cave.

"Bang!"

The stone struck the rock wall at the cave entrance, making a crisp sound.

The Yang Country soldiers outside immediately unleashed a round of frantic gunfire toward the source of the sound.

"What are you doing?!" Qin Feng grabbed her and held her down.

Lanna looked at him, her eyes filled with determination.

"You should go." Her voice was soft, yet firm.

"If you take me with you, neither of us will survive. If you go alone, you still have a chance."

Qin Feng was stunned.

"Don't look at me like that." Lanna smiled self-deprecatingly.

"We are enemies by nature, but you... you have saved me several times. I just don't want to owe you anything anymore."

As she spoke, she struggled to stand up, seemingly wanting to walk out herself to draw the enemy's fire.

"Bang!"

Just then, a stray bullet ricocheted in from the cave entrance at a strange angle, grazing the rock wall and hitting Lanna squarely in her left shoulder.

"Ugh!"

Lanna let out a muffled groan, her body went limp, and blood instantly stained her combat uniform red.

Her old wounds had not yet healed, and now she had a new one.

"Damn it!"

Qin Feng's expression changed, and he immediately dragged her to a safer spot.

Lanna looked at the bloody hole in her shoulder, feeling the piercing pain, but instead, she smiled—a smile that was somewhat desolate.

"Now... you should leave, right? I really... can't walk anymore." Her consciousness began to blur.

Qin Feng looked at her, his brows locked in a frown. Leave?

He glanced at his system panel.

[Character: Svetlana Orlova]

[Status: Important Personal Property]

[Investment Cost: Spent 100 points of military merit, some military rations...]

[Sunk cost is too high, suggest continuing to hold.]

"Shut up."

Qin Feng tore open his own clothes and roughly pressed down on her wound to perform emergency hemostasis.

"You are my personal property. Without my permission, you are not allowed to be scrapped."

His voice was cold, yet carried an unquestionable air of dominance.

"Besides, if I give up now, wouldn't my investment go down the drain?"

Lanna: "..."

What time was it, and this jerk was still calculating his investment!

The favorability she had just built up in her heart for him had all gone to the dogs!

Just then, Qin Feng's ears twitched.

He heard the distinct roar of a truck engine coming from the distance.

He immediately controlled the bionic spider that had been lurking outside and switched his perspective to it.

It was a Yang Country military supply truck, driving on a parallel mountain road. It seemed to be taking a detour to perform some logistics mission, with only two sentries—one visible and one hidden—on board.

Qin Feng's eyes lit up instantly. This was an opportunity he couldn't waste.

He disinfected Lanna's wound and used up all his nano-repair gel.

The painful feeling of loss was as if he had lost five million in cash.

On second thought, he had already invested so much that he couldn't let Lanna die.

Outside the mine, sporadic gunfire echoed.

The pursuing Yang Country soldiers were constantly tightening the encirclement but did not immediately launch a full-scale assault.

They knew very well that the person trapped inside was a fierce tiger; any carelessness could cost them their lives.

Inside the mine, Qin Feng settled Lanna in a relatively safe corner.

"Hold on for five minutes." He was concise.

Lanna's lips moved as if she wanted to say something, but she didn't even have the strength to make a sound.

Qin Feng no longer hesitated. His figure, like a ghost, silently slid out through another narrow ventilation shaft in the mine.

The night was his best camouflage.

Like a gecko, he clung to the steep rock wall, using his climbing skills to silently circle around to the flank and rear of the pursuing troops.

On the mountain road, The Military supply truck was slowly approaching.

In the cab, the driver was humming a tune, while the soldier in the passenger seat vigilantly held his gun, observing the surroundings.

On top of the truck bed, out of their sight, a sniper was lying in wait.

A perfect defensive setup. Unfortunately, they had encountered Qin Feng.

Qin Feng picked up a pebble and flicked it with his finger toward a rock face a few dozen meters in front of the truck.

"Pa! Pa!" A few crisp sounds of impact were exceptionally clear in the silent valley.

"What was that sound?!" The soldier in the passenger seat immediately tensed up.

"Probably just falling rocks from the mountain, don't make a fuss." The driver dismissed it.

As soon as he finished speaking, a black shadow darted out from the shadows by the roadside like lightning! It was the Military Dog, Ghost!

It lunged directly at the front of the truck with a speed that exceeded the limits of human vision.

"Watch out!" The soldier in the passenger seat only had time to let out a cry before Ghost bit through his throat.

The driver was scared out of his wits and instinctively reached for the pistol at his waist.

But one of Qin Feng's hands had already reached in from outside the truck window and gripped his neck.

"Crack." With a crisp sound, the world became quiet.

The sniper on the roof sensed something was wrong and was just about to peek over to check. He was immediately pierced through the skull by two appendages of the bionic spider.

The entire process took no more than ten seconds.

Qin Feng quickly dragged the three bodies into the grass by the roadside, then jumped into the driver's seat, started the truck, made a quick U-turn, and drove back toward the mine.

When the truck's headlights shone on the faces of the Yang Country soldiers who were still besieging the mine, they were all stunned.

"Is that the supply truck? Why are they back?"

"Password!" a squad leader shouted vigilantly.

"Password your sister!" Qin Feng slammed on the accelerator.

The truck roared away. "Enemy attack!" "Boom!"

The truck, like an out-of-control beast, instantly crushed everything in its path. Screams rang out.

With one stomp on the accelerator, he directly ran over and killed three Yang Country soldiers. Qin Feng didn't even stop; he drifted the truck, hitting two more with a sharp tail-whip maneuver.

"Da da da da da..." The sound of gunfire erupted into a chaotic mess, and the scene was extremely chaotic.

Qin Feng wasn't idle either; while driving, he bit off the pin of a grenade and tossed it out.

Boom! Suddenly, flames shot into the sky, accompanied by continuous wailing. Immediately after, he threw another one. The scene was littered with casualties.

Seeing his chance, Qin Feng floored the accelerator, parked the truck at the mine entrance, and seized the opportunity to throw two more grenades. Taking advantage of the chaos, he rushed into the cave.

"Hold on tight to me." Qin Feng picked up Lanna and placed her directly into the passenger seat.

"Beauty, get ready to switch to a new car." Then, he slammed on the accelerator and sped away, leaving dust in his wake.

Leaving behind only a scene of devastation and those Yang Country soldiers who were left regretting their failure and cursing.

"Damn it, he let this guy get away again!"

...

Three full days and nights. A long, life-and-death escape unfolded across the vast Gobi Desert.

Qin Feng drove the hijacked supply truck, racing day and night. The supplies on the truck became their only reliance.

High-energy military rations, purified water, plenty of medical supplies, and quite a few strategic living supplies.

Under Qin Feng's care, Lanna's injuries finally stabilized. Although she still had a persistent high fever, at least her life was saved.

Three days were enough to change many things.

She no longer screamed or complained. Most of the time, she just sat quietly in the passenger seat, watching the desolate scenery flying backward outside the window.

Sometimes she would look at the Chef; this man from the Dragon Country had saved her again. Perhaps...

She began to get used to this life of being a fugitive, and even in moments of occasional calm, she would have an illusion.

As if they were not a captive and a fugitive, but a pair... of companions on some kind of crazy journey.

This thought made her blush and her heart race, but it also made her feel it was absurd and ridiculous.

As for Qin Feng, he pushed his driving skills to the limit.

He was like an experienced driver who knew this land like the back of his hand, always able to find the most hidden routes to avoid the search parties of The Military.

But the Yang Country military had really gone all out this time. Aerial reconnaissance planes and ground radar stations had almost turned the entire Southern Theater Command upside down.

They were like two rabbits being chased by countless hounds, their living space being compressed bit by bit.

On the fourth day, in the early morning, the truck stopped under a dry riverbed, camouflaged with tarps and mud.

Qin Feng leaned against the tire, gnawing on compressed biscuits, his brows locked in a frown. There was less than a quarter of the fuel left.

Their location had been completely exposed. A huge encirclement net was slowly tightening.

"Are we... going to die?" Lanna's voice was a bit hoarse.

She was a bit delirious from the fever, her body leaning against the car door like a weak little kitten.

"What are you thinking?" Qin Feng handed her a bottle of water. "I haven't received enough return on my investment yet, so how can you die?"

Lanna didn't have the strength to argue with him; she just smiled weakly.

Just then, the color of the sky began to change strangely. The originally clear blue sky was replaced by a dim, yellowish color.

The wind began to pick up. The swirling sand particles hit the truck windows, making a "rustling" sound.

Qin Feng's expression instantly became grave.

He turned on the car radio, from which came the noisy communications of the Yang Country military.

"...Emergency announcement from the meteorological department! A super sandstorm has formed and is expected to reach the C7 area in thirty minutes! Repeat, a super sandstorm..."

"All aerial units must return to base immediately! All ground units, find cover immediately and take evasive action on the spot!"

"Platoon Leader! Do you hear me? Retreat immediately! This is an order!"

"Reporting to Command! We have locked onto the target's last known location! It's in the 'Roland Valley'! Requesting permission to continue the pursuit! I must avenge Major Batu!"

A stubborn and crazy voice sounded on the radio.

"Denied! Retreat immediately! Otherwise, face the consequences!"

"..." The other end of the radio fell into a brief silence.

Qin Feng frowned slightly. "A sandstorm?" "Damn it!"

He looked up at the distant horizon, where a yellow storm, like a giant wall, was sweeping in, covering the sky and the earth.

Risk and opportunity coexist. This was a great opportunity to shake off the Yang Country military, but of course, it was also a moment to gamble with his life.

He jumped into the driver's seat and started the truck. "What are you doing?!" Lanna was startled awake.

"Going to a place where we can survive."

Qin Feng slammed on the accelerator, and the truck roared out of the riverbed, charging toward that massive wall of sand without a second thought.

Soon, several Yang Country military vehicles discovered their tracks. "They're there! They're trying to charge into the sandstorm! Don't let them get away!" that Platoon Leader screamed frantically.

Lanna looked back, watching the sandstorm sweeping in, and swallowed hard. Terrifying! Too terrifying!

"We... will die in there." She muttered to herself.

"Maybe." Qin Feng grinned, revealing a mouthful of white teeth. "But it's much more interesting than being bitten to death by that swarm of flies."

He jerked the steering wheel and floored the accelerator. The truck, like a fired arrow, plunged into the sandstorm at the very last moment before it closed in.

The entire world was instantly swallowed by endless wind and sand. The light disappeared completely.
