147: Chapter 147 Let's talk about the differences after you survive!

In the nick of time.

Qin Feng pushed Lanna behind a rock with all his might, then rolled away to put some distance between himself and the wild boar.

At the same time, a sharp military dagger appeared in his hand.

Firing a gun was a last resort.

The sound of gunfire would attract real trouble.

He had to finish off this big guy in the shortest time possible, using the most primitive method!

The giant wild boar missed its target and became even more enraged.

It pawed the ground, snorted two puffs of white air from its nostrils, locked onto Qin Feng again, and charged.

Its speed was astonishing!

Qin Feng's eyes narrowed; instead of retreating, he advanced.

He suddenly dodged to the side, his body grazing past the boar at an incredible angle.

"Pfft!"

The dagger in his hand took the opportunity to slice a deep wound into the boar's flank, exposing bone.

Blood sprayed out instantly.

"Awoo—!"

The intense pain made the wild boar let out a shrill howl as it shook its body wildly, trying to throw off this hateful two-legged beast.

But Qin Feng was faster.

Having landed the blow, he pushed off with his feet, and his body, like a gecko, scrambled directly onto the boar's back!

He clamped his legs tightly around the boar's thick spine, remaining as steady as a mountain no matter how wildly it bucked and charged.

"Die!"

Qin Feng's eyes were fierce; he gripped the dagger with both hands and, with all his might, stabbed it into the most vulnerable point at the base of the boar's neck where the spine connected!

"Crack!"

A teeth-grinding sound of shattering bone rang out.

"Hoo... hoo..."

The giant wild boar's body stiffened suddenly, its wild charge coming to an abrupt halt.

Its massive body swayed, and finally, with a "thud," it collapsed heavily to the ground, its limbs twitching a few times before it went completely still.

The entire process was as swift as a rabbit escaping a falcon, taking only a few short seconds.

It wasn't until the wild boar was completely dead that Lanna, hiding behind the rock, dared to poke her head out, her face filled with disbelief.

Qin Feng jumped down from the boar's carcass, his chest heaving violently, and a fine layer of sweat seeping onto his forehead.

That last move had exhausted most of his stamina.

"Are... are you okay?"

Lanna finally snapped out of it and limped over, her voice trembling slightly.

"I'm fine."

Qin Feng waved his hand, looking at the huge wild boar on the ground with a helpless smile on his face.

"Looks like we'll be changing our menu for the next few days."

Seeing that he was fine, Lanna didn't know what to say for a moment.

This man could always unleash a reassuring strength at the most critical moments.

Being with him, it seemed that even the most terrifying dangers became less frightening.

This seemingly calm primeval forest was far more dangerous than Lanna had imagined.

Human enemies were certainly terrifying, but sometimes, nature itself was the deadliest opponent.

The two worked together to drag the wild boar's carcass to the edge of the pool to process it.

This was definitely a massive project.

Qin Feng was responsible for skinning and butchering; his knife work was precise and efficient, like an experienced old butcher.

As for Lanna, she was responsible for salting the cut meat and hanging it in a ventilated area to air-dry.

Under the sunlight, both were busy with their tasks.

This experience also brought the two of them closer together without them even realizing it.

Two days had passed since the wild boar incident.

Lanna's injuries had basically stabilized; other than strenuous activity, it no longer affected her normal walking.

And that giant wild boar had been processed by the two of them into a large amount of dried meat, enough to last them for quite a long time.

Everything seemed to be moving in a positive direction.

That afternoon, Qin Feng, as usual, was controlling the bionic spider to conduct a routine reconnaissance of the jungle perimeter.

Suddenly, an unexpected discovery made his pupils constrict sharply.

Three kilometers downstream along this river, the spider's infrared detection mode had discovered a small camp.

There were three tents in the camp, a pile of extinguished campfire, and... a small boat docked on the shore.

The boat seemed to be covered with a tarpaulin, with something bulging underneath; it was unclear what it was.

There were four people in the camp, all wearing camouflage, but not the standard issue of any regular army; they looked more like local hunters or... smugglers.

They all had pistols at their waists, and two old AK rifles were leaning in the corner.

Most importantly, Qin Feng saw an open medical kit at the entrance of one of the tents.

Inside were antibiotics, hemostatic bandages, and some specific drugs for snake venom and malaria.

These were exactly what Qin Feng needed most.

Especially that boat!

With it, they could travel down the river to the entrance of the Death Swamp.

It would save time and effort!

At this moment, Qin Feng's heart began to beat faster uncontrollably.

This was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity!

He calmly retrieved the spider and returned to the camp.

Lanna was organizing her backpack, carefully wrapping the dried meat with a waterproof tarp.

"We're leaving tonight," Qin Feng said, walking up to her with a calm tone.

"My injury is fine now," Lanna nodded; she also knew that they couldn't drag this out any longer.

"Before we leave, we need to 'borrow' something," Qin Feng looked at her and said slowly.

Lanna's movements paused: "Borrow something? Borrow from whom?"

Qin Feng did not hide anything and told her exactly about the camp he had discovered, as well as the boat and the medical kit.

After hearing his account, Lanna's expression gradually darkened.

"You mean... we're going to rob them?" Her voice sounded a bit cold.

"Not rob, take," Qin Feng corrected.

"They are from Yang Country; on this land, any person from Yang Country is our enemy."

"Their supplies can keep us alive, nothing more."

"This is war, not a dinner party."

His logic was simple and crude, filled with a soldier-like coldness and pragmatism.

"But they don't look like soldiers!" Lanna's tone rose involuntarily.

"They might just be hunters who rely on this forest to eat! We're going to rob them; how is this any different from being a bandit?"

"How is it different from a bandit?"

Qin Feng laughed, looking at her as if she were naive.

"You can talk about the difference after you survive."

On the battlefield, innocence and so-called moral squeamishness were luxuries that would cost you your life, and would cost your companion's life as well.

He didn't say these words out loud.

He knew that it was futile to explain the cruelty of the law of the jungle to an engineer who had grown up in peaceful times.

The atmosphere in the camp instantly dropped to freezing point.

Neither of them spoke, only the "crackling" sound of the campfire burning remained.
