204: Chapter 204 This isn't punishment, it's downright unbearable to look at!

Qin Feng tossed the car keys aside and instructed Yaro, "What follows is not suitable for children, so start driving immediately."

Gulp!

Yaro swallowed, having no choice but to comply.

As the car slowly started moving, Lanna was pressed down onto the backseat.

"You little servant, how dare you question your master."

It felt just like how adults would punish a child back in the day—a quick swat.

"You little servant, how dare you get angry."

Lanna let out a cry, her expression strange and difficult to describe.

"What's wrong? Trying to rebel against your superior? Do you submit?"

Lanna winced in pain, "Damn Chef, you stinking Chef. You don't know you're wrong at all."

"You dare curse me! A servant needs to know their place."

"Still not admitting you're wrong, huh?"

"You're greedy and lecherous, just a big pervert."

"Still talking back, huh?"

Another sharp cry.

...

This scene looked quite surreal.

Parents back in the day used to beat children with such rhythm, and now, so did Qin Feng.

In the rearview mirror.

Yaro watched with a racing heart, unconsciously touching the spot where she had been hurt earlier.

It felt as if that lash she had received earlier was still aching, and she couldn't help but inwardly rant.

This Chef was simply too brutal.

Lanna must be in so much pain!

Suddenly, she felt a bit sorry for Lanna.

About a minute later.

Lanna finally begged for mercy.

"I was wrong! I know I was wrong! I won't dare do it again."

Her voice sounded a bit weak, yet also alluring.

It didn't sound like she really knew she was wrong at all.

"So you know you're wrong."

Qin Feng stopped; any more hitting and it wouldn't pass censorship.

He smirked with the satisfaction of a successful scheme, tossed her aside, sat down in the now-empty half of the seat, and felt a wave of complex emotions.

He hadn't expected the touch of this Russian Girl to be unexpectedly good.

Meanwhile, Lanna felt an indescribable sense of strangeness in her heart.

Hmph! Stinking man! You dead scumbag!

Who knows how much time passed.

Perhaps Lanna was tired; she curled up, slid seamlessly into Qin Feng's arms, hugged him, and fell asleep.

Deep into the night!

Only the lonely headlights illuminated the road ahead.

Two hundred kilometers away was the border between the Dragon Country and Yang Country.

The journey home was finally one step closer.

"Chef, I know you aren't asleep."

Yaro had been holding some words in for too long and felt she had to let them out.

"Speak your mind." Qin Feng kept his eyes closed, resting.

"What you said... about a full-scale war breaking out, is it true?" Yaro asked.

"I never joke." Qin Feng's answer shattered her last shred of hope.

"Given the current pace of world development, I believe your country will become a sacrifice for the major powers in the near future."

Yaro fell silent.

She didn't understand politics, but she was very well-versed in military technology.

The major powers' technology was indeed far superior to Yang Country's.

Not to mention distant ones, even their neighbor, Bear Country, was a military powerhouse.

Now add the mysterious Dragon Country, and in the distance, the global power Eagle Country and its alliance.

Any one of them could annihilate Yang Country.

If a full-scale war were to erupt, a small nation like Yang Country would very likely be wiped off the map!

Yaro gripped the steering wheel tightly, her eyes grave.

If things really developed to that point, it was the last thing she wanted to see.

Was she really to become a slave of a conquered nation?

For a moment, Yaro felt both conflicted and torn inside!

Just then, snoring started from the backseat.

Qin Feng had fallen asleep.

In a dark corner of the car.

A bionic spider was constantly monitoring every movement inside and outside the vehicle.

...

Before dawn.

The truck finally stopped.

"Out of gas."

Yaro in the driver's seat pressed the accelerator, but there was no response.

Qin Feng opened his eyes, and the warm body in his arms stirred.

Lanna lifted her head, bleary-eyed, rubbed her eyes, and nuzzled into his chest again to find a more comfortable position, clearly not yet awake.

Qin Feng pushed her away, his movements not particularly gentle.

"Wake up, stop sleeping."

He opened the car door, and a blast of dry, cold wind immediately rushed in.

Looking out, there was nothing but rolling sand dunes and sparse, withered grass.

"We'll have to walk."

Yaro's voice was calm, stating a cruel fact.

Qin Feng jumped out of the car, walked to the back, and patted the canvas.

"Everyone out!"

A commotion and dissatisfied complaints came from the truck bed.

Qin Feng ignored them and walked straight toward Chi Yan.

The tall warhorse snorted and nuzzled its head against his shoulder.

Qin Feng checked the water skin hanging from the saddle and weighed the food in his backpack.

His brow furrowed involuntarily.

Lanna and Yaro also got out of the car; seeing Qin Feng's grave expression, their hearts skipped a beat.

Soon, eighteen female soldiers from the Cultural Troupe were pushed and shoved off the truck.

They were all lethargic, looking as if they hadn't woken up yet.

"Where is this? It's so dark?"

"My god, there isn't a soul in this godforsaken place."

"Water, who has water? I'm dying of thirst!"

The chattering sounded like a flock of sparrows released from a cage, giving one a headache.

Qin Feng took stock of all the supplies, and the result was even worse than he had imagined.

There was only enough food for over twenty people for two days, provided they rationed it.

Water was even scarcer; apart from the large water skin reserved for Chi Yan, the rest was only enough for everyone to drink for one day.

They were still over a hundred kilometers in a straight line from the Dragon Country border.

Hiking in this terrain, they wouldn't be able to make it in less than two or three days.

"Shut up, all of you!"

Qin Feng's voice wasn't loud, but it was like an ice pick, instantly piercing through all the noise.

The female soldiers shuddered, subconsciously closing their mouths and looking at him timidly.

"The situation is simple." Qin Feng pointed to the broken-down truck, "The car is out of gas."

He then pointed into the distance, "From here to the Yang Country border, there are over a hundred kilometers.

We have to walk."

"What? Walk?" A female soldier who looked like the leader, slightly bolder than the others, cried out.

"Are you kidding me! Over a hundred kilometers, do you want to walk us to our deaths here?"

"Exactly! We are artists, not field soldiers like you!"

"I can't walk, I twisted my ankle!"

"I demand humanitarian treatment! We are prisoners, not slaves!"

Protests rose one after another.

These flowers raised in greenhouses had never suffered such hardships.

In their eyes, this was an impossible task; the man was deliberately torturing them.

Qin Feng watched them coldly, as if looking at a group of unreasonable children.

"From now on, all food and water will be rationed uniformly." He completely ignored their protests and announced his decision.

"Everyone gets half a compressed biscuit and one bottle cap of water per day.

If anyone wants more, there isn't any."

"One bottle cap of water? You might as well just kill us!"

"How can anyone survive on this!"

"I object!"

A tall female soldier with exquisite makeup stepped forward.
