7: Chapter 7: Accidental killing is one thing, but daring to provoke is another; execute him on the spot!

On the training ground!

The echoes of gunshots seemed to have not yet fully dissipated over the Shooting Range, and the air was filled with the pungent smell of gunpowder mixed with sweat.

However, this brief tranquility was completely shattered by a sharp scream and an untimely gunshot.

"Bang!"

Everyone looked toward the source of the sound.

In the distance, a pretty girl was slumped on the ground with hollow eyes, and the muzzle of the gun in front of her was still emitting wisps of blue smoke.

Directly in front of her, a blood hole was gushing blood from the back of a boy's head; his body twitched twice before he fell straight down.

The entire Shooting Range fell silent for a second.

The next moment, panic exploded like a plague.

Screams, cries, and retching sounds rose one after another.

"She killed someone! She killed someone!"

"Medic! Call a medic quickly!"

The girl who had fired the shot seemed stunned by this sudden turn of events; her face was pale as paper, her lips trembling, and she couldn't say a word.

Company Commander Zhou Hailong rushed over in one stride, his face dark enough to wring water from.

He snatched the gun from the girl's hand, checked it, and then kicked her to the ground.

"What is going on!"

Company Commander Zhou Hailong's voice sounded like it had been fished out of an ice cellar.

"No... it wasn't me! I didn't do it!"

The girl finally reacted and began to scream hysterically, pointing at the firearms instructor nearby, her voice shrill.

"It's his fault! The gun he gave me was faulty! Yes! It's the gun's problem! It misfired on its own! It has nothing to do with me!"

Grasping at straws, she began to roar frantically, pushing all the blame away completely.

"Shut up!"

The killing intent in Company Commander Zhou Hailong's eyes almost solidified into substance.

"What is the first rule of the Shooting Range? Never point a gun at anyone! How many times did the instructor just say that? Are your ears just for decoration!"

"I didn't! I didn't mean to! You are treating human lives like grass! I'm going to sue you! My dad is..."

"Take her away!"

Company Commander Zhou Hailong couldn't be bothered to listen to her nonsense anymore, and two soldiers immediately stepped forward to haul her up from the ground.

"According to the wartime military training regulations, for endangering the safety of comrades and causing malicious consequences, you will be handed over to the Military Court to stand trial!"

Military Court!

These three words were like a heavy hammer, smashing fiercely onto the girl's skull.

Her roaring stopped abruptly, replaced by a deeper fear.

She finally realized that this military training was not a joke.

"No! I don't want to go to the Military Court! I was wrong! I was really wrong! Let me go!"

Her mental defenses completely collapsed.

Just as the two soldiers were dragging her away, she suddenly broke free and, acting like a madwoman, lunged at a rifle on the nearby gun rack.

"I'll fight you to the death!"

Madness flashed in her eyes.

She was just a spoiled child who had been pampered since she was young.

However, she was fast, but Company Commander Zhou Hailong was even faster.

"Bang!"

Another gunshot rang out.

The girl's movements instantly froze, and a precise blood hole appeared between her eyebrows.

She looked at Company Commander Zhou Hailong in disbelief, and her body slumped down limply.

The entire scene... was deathly silent.

Only the whimpering of the wind blowing through the Shooting Range remained, along with the heavy and suppressed breathing of the freshmen.

Dead.

Another one died.

On the first day of military training, three vibrant lives were ended right before their eyes.

Everyone was shocked by these iron-fisted and cruel methods; they were all terrified into silence, their bodies shivering uncontrollably.

Those who had just thought the firearms training was very interesting now had all the color drained from their faces.

Only Qin Feng, standing in the crowd, had no change in expression whatsoever.

His eyes were as calm as a deep pool, and he even observed Company Commander Zhou Hailong's shooting posture and trajectory with interest.

Hmm, standard, decisive, a qualified soldier.

As for the two dead students?

There was no ripple in Qin Feng's heart; he even felt like laughing a little.

An idiot who treated rules as wind in the ears, and a piece of trash driven crazy by fear.

On a real battlefield, such people wouldn't survive for three minutes.

Their deaths were merely paying the bill for their own stupidity in advance.

This sudden bloody incident was exposed, igniting the internet once again.

"Holy crap! They actually fired in the livestream? Is it real or fake?"

"College student military training resulted in death! And they were executed on the spot! Is this world crazy?"

"I support The Military! These giant babies who don't follow the rules are just a scourge even if kept alive!"

"The person above is cold-blooded! That's a human life!"

The internet was in an uproar, and the government didn't seem to have any intention of covering up the incident; instead, they broadcast it openly, which was truly baffling.

Evening.

Just when everyone thought they could catch their breath, the assembly bugle sounded again.

"Attention everyone! Five-kilometer weighted cross-country run, starting now!"

This time, no one dared to have the slightest complaint.

Everyone became obedient; even though their legs felt as heavy as if they were filled with lead, and their lungs were burning with pain, they gritted their teeth and charged forward.

They finally understood that here, orders are not suggestions, and rules are not for show.

People will die!

People really will die!

...

Late at night, freshman dormitory.

The exhausted freshmen finally returned to their beds, but almost no one could fall asleep.

The day's experiences completely overturned their worldview.

"What the hell, this isn't a university freshman military training at all, this is simply screening for a suicide squad! I want to file a complaint!"

"I really want to go home... If my mom knew what I went through today, she would definitely cry to death."

"Do you guys think we really have to train like this for three months? A 30% mortality rate... There are ten of us in the dormitory, doesn't that mean three will die?"

"That's probability theory, it's not three out of ten people dying, it's that every person has a 30% chance of death. It's very possible that we will all be sacrificed."

"Ah!"

The dormitory was collectively shocked!

Panic and despair spread in the darkness.

Suffocation!

Stiffness!

Petrification!

In the corner, suppressed sobbing came from Zhao Hu's bed.

This sports student, who had been high-spirited during the day, was now completely broken.

Qin Feng lay on the bed, turning a deaf ear to the discussion and crying around him.

He closed his eyes, forcing himself into a light sleep, seizing every minute and every second to recover his strength.

"Hey, you, Qin Feng, why aren't you saying anything? Are you asleep?"

A classmate from the upper bunk poked his head out.

"If you don't want to die, hurry up and sleep."

Qin Feng didn't even lift his eyelids, saying indifferently.

"Tch, what kind of big shot are you pretending to be? Didn't you just do a bit better at the cross-country and shooting today? Acting like you're a Soldier King."

The person sneered and retracted his head disdainfully.

The others in the dormitory also felt that Qin Feng was pretending to be profound; no one took his words seriously, and they continued to vent their emotions in low voices.

Qin Feng sneered in his heart.

A bunch of rookies.

Do you really think the nights in The Military are for you to sleep? The whistle for emergency assembly is the lullaby of the recruit camp.

He knew this process too well.

Sure enough.

In the middle of the night, when most people in the dormitory had fallen into a deep sleep with exhaustion and fear—

"Beep—beep beep—!"

The sharp, piercing emergency assembly bugle cut through the night sky!

The entire dormitory building exploded in chaos instantly.

"Holy crap! Again?"

"Where are my clothes? Where are my pants?"

"Who stepped on me!"

It was a scene of chaos and disorder.
