104: Chapter 0104 Deputy Leader

Li Size and Flora's previous intelligence was limited to the Miners Brotherhood and its leader, Blackwood; they hadn't paid much attention to or gained a deep understanding of the five deputy leaders.

Now, it was clear that Li Size and the other three needed to choose the most suitable bait from among the five. If the bait was chosen successfully, more than half the plan would be complete.

If the bait was chosen poorly, this mission for The Lurkers and the Internal Affairs Department could face numerous setbacks, potentially even compromising the secrecy of the entire operation.

Li Size pondered for a moment, his fingers lightly tapping on the table as his gaze swept over the three women. A sharp, calculated glint flickered in his eyes.

"We need to find the one who is easiest to break through."

"Flora, continue digging into the Dark Web. Focus on investigating the daily habits and secret dealings of these five, especially their weaknesses, such as personal grudges."

Flora nodded immediately, her expression focused and confident.

"Rest assured, Master. I will purchase detailed information on these individuals from the Dark Web. Their information isn't very expensive, but it will take some time to process."

"I've already contacted several reliable information brokers and expect a more in-depth report soon."

Li Size's fingers paused, his tone growing a bit more serious.

"Once we get some leverage over one of the deputy leaders, we can set a trap to force them into submission. But we must be careful with our methods to avoid raising suspicion."

After thinking it over, Li Size made a decision, his voice low and decisive.

"People's hearts are unpredictable. These deputy leaders have been with Blackwood for a long time; relying solely on coercion might lead to slips."

"Perhaps we need to use a slave scroll to completely control one of these five deputy leaders to achieve the desired effect."

"Only then can we ensure their absolute obedience and prevent them from turning on us at a critical moment."

Flora didn't think much of it, even feeling that her master was being meticulous, and she nodded in agreement.

Felina and Gelia, however, felt something was off. They looked at Flora and then at Li Size. Finally, Gelia couldn't help but pout and grumble:

"dear, you're not thinking of finding us another sister, are you?"

"I see in the intelligence that although Lina is already thirty-two, she still has her charms. She's the ideal lover for many in Wojin City, and even Blackwood seems to lust after her!"

"You're not planning to form a contract with her, are you? Hehe!"

Her tone was teasing, but a hint of jealousy flashed in her eyes.

Li Size gave a wry smile and shook his head upon hearing this.

"Ahem! How could I think of such nonsense?"

"Gelia, you've really misunderstood me."

"If it comes to that, I'll just let Flora use the slave scroll we requested from the Internal Affairs Department. It'll also make it easier for her to manage the Gang later. Will that do?"

His expression was helpless as he tried to soothe the atmosphere.

At this, Felina also realized what was happening and said coquettishly:

"Humph! Don't think I don't know—if Little Sister Flora controls a slave, you can still do whatever you want with them."

She crossed her arms and glared at Li Size, feigning anger, though a trace of a smile hid at the corners of her mouth.

Li Size felt wronged; he was truly being maligned.

Once the analysis and arrangements were settled, Li Size sent Flora to carry out further intelligence gathering and analysis.

His tone was calm, carrying an unquestionable authority as if everything were already under his control.

Flora departed with a light step and a focused gaze, clearly fully committed to the task.

As for Li Size, who had nothing to handle personally for the time being, he was naturally happy to enjoy some leisure.

He stretched his body and lay back on the large, soft bed of the Carnival Hotel, enjoying the gentle companionship of Felina and Gelia.

Sunlight filtered through the sheer curtains into the room, creating a lazy and suggestive atmosphere.

Isn't this the life of a capitalist? When there's work, the secretary does it; when there's no work, do the...

He threw a playful smile, but didn't pursue the thought further.

Now was not the time. Although his two companions snuggled compliantly beside him, there still seemed to be some unresolved resistance in their expressions—a lingering grudge against Flora.

Li Size knew he would have to put in some effort to coax them and dissolve that faint tension.

And Flora certainly did not disappoint him.

Worthy of being an elite female assassin who had spent years active in the Dark Web, her ability to gather and analyze intelligence far surpassed that of ordinary people.

Early the next morning, while Li Size was still lying in bed with a woman in each arm, drifting between sleep and wakefulness, she had already quietly returned to the suite, bringing a series of the latest updates—

Not just about the Miners Brotherhood, but also some unexpected findings.

Flora looked down and saw Li Size still holding the completely naked Felina. The latter's cheeks instantly flushed crimson, and she looked quite embarrassed, unable to resist lightly pounding Li Size's chest.

Li Size laughed even more triumphantly, pulling Felina closer and saying leisurely:

"We're all family from now on; there's no need to be formal."

He then looked up at Flora and got straight to the point:

"What information did the Dark Web provide?"

Flora's gaze lingered on Felina for a moment, a trace of imperceptible envy flashing in her eyes.

It was an intimacy she had yet to attain but secretly yearned for.

She quickly composed herself and lowered her head respectfully to report:

"Master, first, regarding the melancholy fruit."

"I posted a task on the Dark Web seeking the melancholy fruit or information related to it, and someone has already accepted it."

"I expect more news within the next few days."

Hearing this, Li Size was secretly delighted.

He hadn't expected the Dark Web to be so efficient—it had only been a few days since he recruited Flora, and already there was a lead on the melancholy fruit, which he'd previously had no clues about.

It seemed the plan to refine the brain in a vat could soon move forward.

He nodded slightly, unable to hide his satisfaction, and signaled Flora to continue.

Seeing that her master was in a good mood, Flora also felt relieved. With a slight smile, she continued:

"Also, regarding the former Deputy Director of the Provincial Department of Education, Bachima..."

"I've recently heard multiple reports from external channels that he's been telling friends he harbors an intense hatred for a certain Wizard Apprentice who ruined his plans, and he's secretly plotting revenge."

Hearing this, Li Size's expression became a bit subtle.

He instinctively touched the bridge of his nose and looked away—that so-called "Wizard Apprentice" seemed to be himself.

Seeing Li Size's strange smile, Flora felt something was odd but didn't dwell on it, taking it as his usual inscrutable demeanor, and continued her report:

"Finally, the intelligence on the Miners Brotherhood that you've been following lately, Master."

She steadied herself and spoke in a steady but slightly rapid tone:

"Based on the information gathered so far and my own analysis, among the five deputy leaders of the Miners Brotherhood, both Gavin and Karen are sinister and cunning individuals."

"Gavin's movements are elusive; he often frequents underground casinos and black markets alone late at night. On the surface, he seems indulgent, but in reality, every step is a hidden calculation."

"Karen, on the other hand, is an expert at disguise and has frequently used body doubles to confuse observers. Neither follows any predictable pattern of action, making it extremely difficult to subdue them in one go."
