54: Chapter 0054 Mission

This assessment battle also made Li Size aware of his own shortcomings.

Although his Agility had reached 4 points, facing battles above the Intermediate Wizard Apprentice level, this Agility was actually very dangerous.

He lacked sufficient dodging and defensive capabilities.

He could continue to improve his Agility and Physique attribute points, or he could acquire some rare sorceries to enhance his dodging and defensive abilities.

If he could win first place in Gele City this time, the Resistance Enhancement he would receive could boost his defensive capabilities.

Sorceries that enhance dodging ability include the Zero Ring Sorceries “Slick Feet” and Light Body Technique, which increase speed.

Neither of these sorceries directly increases speed...

Slick Feet creates a layer of grease on flat ground, reducing friction during escape to increase speed.

Light Body Technique reduces the wizard's mass parameter, thereby allowing the wizard to achieve greater acceleration and initial velocity during acceleration.

Both of these sorceries involve the essence of human structure, movement, and forces. Without a certain understanding of the Five Major Mechanics, one cannot learn these two sorceries.

Additionally, he needed to prepare a control ability with a wider range.

Stun Bullets only work upon impact, making them difficult to use against enemies with high speed or attribute values.

Li Size exploited the relatively rigid combat intelligence of the black demonic iron Puppet this time.

If the same attributes and abilities were on a person, Li Size estimated he would have failed long ago.

The Puppet's Zero Ring Web Sorcery was actually quite good.

The “Ring of Thorns” awarded to the top three in Gele City also controls enemies by inducing vines on the ground to entangle them.

Although its range is slightly smaller than the Spider Web, it is still considered a range control ability.

The practical assessment was the fastest exam Li Size completed, taking less than ten minutes in total.

When he walked out of the examination room, even the invigilating teacher from the Provincial Department gave him a thumbs up, exclaiming that this apprentice's combat power was too formidable!

Clearly, this practical exam would certainly be another 100 points!

Other students were still taking their exams, so Li Size had to go around to the lake behind the academy, climb over the wall, and return to his factory apartment.

Felina was resting in the apartment. Seeing Li Size appear at this time, she glanced at the sorcery clock and anxiously asked:

“Hubby, what’s wrong?

Why haven't you gone to the exam yet? Don't be late!

Being late will deduct points, and if it's over 30 minutes, your exam qualification will be canceled.

Oh dear, it's already 20 minutes; hurry up and run there!”

Li Size laughed heartily upon hearing this:

“You silly girl, your husband has already finished the exam!”

Felina looked at him suspiciously upon hearing this: “Really?

Was this practical exam too difficult, causing you to fail so quickly?”

Li Size chuckled, walked to the sofa, picked up Felina, placed her on his lap, and playfully slapped her perky bottom twice.

Felina’s bottom immediately showed a faint redness:

“How dare you doubt your husband!”

Felina let out a soft “Ah,” hugged Li Size’s arm, her surging chest pressing against his arm.

Swaying, a expanse of white...

She pouted: “

Hubby, I was wrong...

But you came back so quickly, how did you do on the exam?”

Li Size said confidently:

“Of course, just like the previous two times, a perfect score!”

Felina’s eyes sparkled with admiration upon hearing this, and she hugged Li Size tightly:

“Hubby, you are amazing!

With perfect scores in all three subjects, you probably have the highest total score in the history of the provincial unified exam!

It's simply unbelievable!”

Li Size ruffled her beautiful hair, stared at her, and chuckled mischievously:

“Then how will my wife reward me?”

... (Censored)

A few hours later...

Li Size and Felina cuddled together. He noticed “The History of the Crimson Soul Duchy” lying on the floor beside the sofa.

This was one of the codebooks Felina and Rice had agreed upon...

Li Size asked: “Is there news from Feiting again?”

Felina nodded upon hearing this, picked up the paper from the floor, and compared it page by page, searching for the corresponding text in “The History of the Crimson Soul Duchy”:

“I was just deciphering the message! !

It's all your fault for coming back so early, making me worry about you and exhausting me so much.”

Li Size quietly accompanied Felina as she translated Rice’s confidential information.

It turned out that Feiting had assigned a mission to Felina through Rice.

The Lurkers organization didn't specifically designate Felina, but rather the mission location—Gray Mist Mountain Town.

As the only member of The Lurkers in Gray Mist Mountain Town, this mission was automatically assigned to Felina.

As for Li Size, he did not exist in Feiting's Lurkers system roster, which might be Felina's vulnerability.

It turned out that the Crimson Soul Duchy had made a Breakthrough in communication technology, inventing “Eavesdropping Technology.”

A traditional alchemy Wizard Apprentice at the Peak level had developed a technique to replicate communication nodes half a year ago.

Based on this small technique, he later achieved real-time Eavesdropping Technology for Zero-level (town-level) communication nodes.

To clearly explain the principle of this technology, one must first understand the communication architecture of the Crimson Soul Duchy and even the Feiting Federation:

Node-Center-Node.

For example, if Li Size wants to contact Felina, the communication node named “Li Size” sends an instruction to the Communication Center to connect to the communication node “Felina.”

Then, the center connects the Mysterious Network Cables of “Li Size” and “Felina” according to the instruction, thereby enabling real-time communication.

This architecture applies to all communication network architectures from Zero-level to Ten-level.

And this remarkable Wizard Apprentice's technology, upon receiving a communication instruction, would also create a duplicate instruction.

It would temporarily replicate and generate a “Felina” at the designated node location, resulting in two “Felinas” at that moment.

Li Size, however, would not know that he was communicating with two “Felinas.”

Thus, a duplicated communication node covertly intervened in this real-time communication.

Recently, this Eavesdropping Technology would be loaded into several small towns selected by the Duchy's Internal Affairs Department for closed testing.

The inconspicuous Gray Mist Mountain was one of the secret experimental sites.

This news somehow leaked to the Feiting Federation...

Seeing this, Li Size felt that the espionage war between these two nations was quite thrilling.

The two countries were like sieves leaking everywhere; it seemed both sides could easily obtain each other's top secrets.

It was as if neither side was defending, and they were just stabbing each other, aiming for vital points to kill!

This bizarre situation was abnormal!

Li Size had some doubts and conjectures, that this might be related to the suzerain state of the two great nations, the Purple Thorn Kingdom, but these were too far removed from his current concerns.

Perhaps for both countries, this was helplessness.

They could only engage in this fated mutual stabbing, desperately striking at each other's vital points, just to see who would fall first...

Getting back to the main topic, Eavesdropping Technology is terrifying.

Li Size, from Blue Star, had heard of the “Watergate scandal” and the “US surveillance incident,” knowing the nightmarish consequences of eavesdropping.

He sighed...

He knew that with the communication technology of this world, the invention of this demonic Eavesdropping Technology was only a matter of time.

It just so happened that he and Felina were among the historical witnesses to this invention!

This demonic technology would gradually destroy trust between humans and sow doubt.

He hated this technology!

Felina’s mission was very clear:

To cooperate with the organization’s communication Domain experts to acquire this top-secret technology from the Crimson Soul Duchy.
