34: Chapter 0034 Opening

Gelia rested her head on Li Size's chest and suddenly looked up to remind him:

"Your factory opens the day after tomorrow, and you still haven't decided on a name."

It was only then that Li Size suddenly realized...

Recently, he had truly been extremely busy:

The equipment in Gele City would be installed tomorrow, and the blacksmith apprentices and workers recruited by his father, Pativ, had already entered the factory. The day after tomorrow was the grand opening.

Unfortunately, he truly had no talent for naming things. After thinking for a moment, he said helplessly:

"How about we call it Gelia Machinery Manufacturing Plant?"

Gelia couldn't help but let out a delicate laugh:

"Pfft! No way. Your naming is too casual. Why use my name? Why not call it Li Size Machinery Manufacturing Plant?"

Li Size raised an eyebrow:

"I'm too lazy to think of anything else, so let's just call it that!"

Two days later...

When the eight large characters "Li Size Machinery Manufacturing Plant" were hung on the factory gate, Li Size felt a strong sense of shame.

The little sorcerer donkeys and three-wheelers people would ride in the future, wouldn't they all be branded "Li Size Brand"?

When meeting someone outside, would they ask, "Did you ride a Li Size today?"

This... this... How could he face people like this?

The establishment of the Li Size Machinery Manufacturing Plant was definitely a major event in Gray Mist Mountain Town.

This was the first time since the town's founding that a factory of this scale had been completed.

Moreover, it was spearheaded by the blacksmith father everyone was most familiar with, Pativ, and people could even receive candy for attending the opening ceremony.

As a result, the crowd watching the ceremony stretched far beyond the gate of the neighboring academy.

However, only a few truly powerful figures in Gray Mist Mountain Town knew that the real owner of this machinery plant was a 19-year-old student from the Low-level Wizardry Academy.

Even fewer people thought that the factory had already secured quite a few large orders before it even opened.

The Town Head, the head of the Police Bureau, Slav from the Land Bureau, as well as the heads of the Planning Bureau and Commerce Bureau, all rushed over to cut the ribbon and offer their congratulations.

As Pativ shouted through the loudspeaker:

"Grand opening success!"

The roaring sound of machinery immediately erupted from the factory, and the onlookers slowly dispersed under the guidance of the Patrol Officers.

After Slav and the people from the Planning and Commerce Bureaus took their leave, the Gray Mist Mountain Town Head, Vlary, and the Police Bureau Chief, Mara.

These two most powerful figures in town stayed behind, as if they were specifically waiting until the end.

As expected, seeing that they were alone, Vlary stepped forward with Mara, smiling broadly and saying:

"Congratulations on the smooth opening of Your Excellency Li Size's machinery plant!

This is the largest factory since the founding of Gray Mist Mountain Town. Your Excellency has done a great service to your hometown! On behalf of the entire town, I thank you!"

Li Size responded with a smile:

"In the future in Gray Mist Mountain Town, I will still have to rely on Town Head Vlary and Chief Mara for much guidance."

Vlary and Mara exchanged a look, clearing their throats:

"Ahem... With the scale of Your Excellency's industry, our small town probably can't offer much help.

However, a few days ago, Viscount Weisman specifically sent a message to the town government. Upon hearing of Your Excellency's deeds, he was greatly pleased and said he must meet you if he had the chance.

You see, if you could pledge your loyalty to Viscount Weisman and gain the Viscount's care, the machinery plant would surely proceed smoothly!"

Li Size's eyes narrowed...

His factory had attracted Weisman's attention right after opening. The Viscount's control was too strong!

And these two people before him were clearly Weisman's men.

It was a pity that they didn't know that Li Size had long been aware of the secret of Weisman's Family defecting and committing treason, something even Weisman himself hadn't noticed; nor did he know if these two were aware of Weisman's treasonous acts.

He naturally could not pledge allegiance to Weisman, so he could only give a vague reply:

"I didn't expect my small factory to reach the ears of the Viscount. I am truly flattered.

However, this factory is only to fulfill orders for the academy and friends, so it probably won't last too long.

Furthermore, I am still young and need to strive to enter the High-level Wizardry Academy. As for pledging loyalty, it's better to wait until after graduating from the High Academy."

These words were clearly a refusal.

Vlary said no more, exchanged a few pleasantries, and left with Mara.

Throughout the entire process, Mara barely spoke aside from offering congratulations. He seemed harder to deal with than Vlary, and he was also an Intermediate Wizard Apprentice.

After the two left, Gelia and Felina, who had been hiding in the distance, came over and asked curiously:

"What did the Town Head stay behind to talk to you about?"

Li Size sighed:

"Gelia, you need to be careful.

The Town Head and the Chief are both Viscount Weisman's men. They were here just now representing the Viscount to persuade me to pledge loyalty, and I refused."

Felina worried:

"Refusing them, will it invite petty actions?"

Li Size smiled:

"We'll deal with whatever comes our way."

Gelia, however, frowned deeply:

"Misfortunes never come singly..."

Seeing the two look at her, she quietly said:

"News came from the City Police Bureau that someone has complained that I framed a colleague, using fabricated charges to kill Wilson, and I'm ordered to suspend duty and accept an investigation. The investigation team arrives tomorrow."

This was undoubtedly catching Gelia by the throat.

Wilson deserved to die, but Gelia couldn't tell the truth and could only worry anxiously.

She was originally the Deputy Director and a Wizard Apprentice, and Wilson had no Family. If no one had complained, this matter might have just faded away.

"It must be the forces behind Wilson striking back, trying to figure out exactly how much we know.

This is simply a dead end!"

Li Size also got a headache.

Felina thought for a moment:

"We can't mention Rice's matter for now. Then, can we bring up Bobby's old case and find evidence to confirm Wilson's guilt?"

Li Size shook his head:

"That would directly expose us under Weisman's nose. He would assume we know about his treason, making it even more dangerous."

He then asked Gelia:

"Can you ask Sven from the Internal Affairs Department to step in and suppress this matter?"

Gelia sighed:

"I discussed it with my Senior Brother. If there's really no other way, we can only do that.

But he deduced that doing so has a high probability of exposing Rice quickly.

Once Rice is exposed, Sven and we would have to bear the responsibility for the plan's failure, and possibly..."

Li Size understood Sven's deeper concern:

Responsibility was secondary. Once Rice was exposed, Weisman and the Feiting Federation would immediately realize that the treason had been leaked, potentially leading directly to a rupture between the Duchy and Weisman, causing a complete collapse of the situation.

In comparison, if they dug up Bobby's old case and suffered retaliation, only the three of them would be affected.

Li Size fell into deep thought:

How exactly should he break this deadlock?
