19: Chapter 0019 Laying Eggs

Rice reported Li Size's weapon production as a completed task, applying for more funding from Feiting, continuously requesting funds to produce more weapons...

Then, find a 'secret' place to hide them well, waiting until Feiting is ready to deploy them, only to realize they have all become Crimson Soul's eggs!

After hearing Li Size's plan, Rice and Sven felt how sinister it was, but they had to admit it was very tempting.

Thus, Li Size gained two more merit points, totaling 13 merit points, getting closer and closer to the Elementary Meditation Method.

Most importantly, the value of this order exceeded the value of the academy order.

After all, the trading partner was a national machine. Although the unit profit margin for military orders wasn't as high as academy orders, the advantage lay in large volume, plus the merit points earned!

This transaction was preliminarily estimated to allow Li Size to earn another 15-20 Gold Coins within 3-4 months.

Coupled with raiding the corrupt police officer Wilson's house during this mission, the preliminary estimated value of the spoils was 45-50 Gold Coins. After the spoils were settled and audited, he could expect another 6-7 Gold Coins.

Unknowingly, after a series of maneuvers, Li Size had already gathered more than half the Gold Coins needed for 3 points of Mental Energy through Pay-to-Win. Indeed, relying on the state was the best way to get rich!

Sven was to secretly take Rice back to Gele City overnight; the organization's 'witch box' was already parked outside Wilson's apartment.

Gelia also returned to the police station contentedly to write her report on Wilson. She planned to promote Leivan as the new captain, and also because Li Size had just given her 1 Gold Coin as promised.

By the time everyone else left, it was already 9:00 PM...

This way, they didn't need to play master and servant, but regrettably, there were still two bicycles, preventing Li Size from having a pleasant two-person ride with Felina, which caused him slight regret.

In the winter weather, the deeper the night, the colder it became. Felina's bicycle subconsciously leaned toward Li Size as she happily said:

'This time was truly not easy; this can be considered a happy ending for everyone.

'If I send the 20 Gold Coins tomorrow, my little sister can finally get treatment; hmm, maybe she can get out more in the future, and I'll have a chance to introduce her to you.'

Li Size genuinely felt Felina's overflowing happiness and nodded:

'Then congratulations, Mentor. I hope your sister recovers soon.

'However, Mentor, you shouldn't have applied for that 100 Gold Coins from Rice in installments back then. People sell themselves for a lump sum, but why did it become installment payments for you? I worry that if Rice is exposed someday, the subsequent treatment funds for your sister will be lost.'

Felina blushed with shame and anger upon hearing this, feeling that this brat was teasing her again—selling herself, no less. She freed her left hand and swung a punch toward Li Size's head. Who knew that Li Size lightly dodged it, causing her bicycle to lose its balance and start tipping sideways.

Fortunately, Li Size was quick-witted and quickly dismounted to support her, preventing a fall.

Felina's body leaned against Li Size's embrace, her warm fragrance lingering, making one's heart flutter. Li Size and Felina stared into each other's eyes, time seeming to pause, like a happy young couple...

'Ahem! Young couples these days, pay attention to your influence! This is the street; don't think no one can see just because it's dark.'

'Ah!'

Felina quickly stepped away, her face flushed crimson with embarrassment. How could she forget to break free after this brat took advantage of her? However, his physique really seemed quite good... Oh dear, what am I thinking...

Felina took a deep breath to clear her mind and pushed her bike forward, as if to encourage herself:

'Who could have foreseen things turning out like this back then? We'll take it one step at a time.

'Now that we've joined the Internal Affairs Department, judging by today's mission, even if we can't secure subsequent funding from Feiting, I am confident I can earn enough Gold Coins through hard work.

'Student Li Size, you must help me.

'It's quite marvelous, actually. I've become a partner in a spy organization with my own student.'

Although Li Size was an external member and ranked lower than Felina, the few days they spent together and the life-and-death crises they shared had clearly made Felina view Li Size as a partner.

There was a different kind of affection; Li Size's maturity and quick wit possessed a kind of magic, making her slowly develop a sense of dependence.

Li Size was still lost in that lingering, intoxicating fragrance, unable to pull himself away. 'Strike while the iron is hot; one must seize the beauty and not let the fair maiden's intentions go to waste.' It seemed he needed to put in more effort.

Hearing Felina's sigh, he snapped back to reality, recalling the transition from life-and-death enemies to tacit partners over the past few days, and inwardly marveled at the strangeness of fate:

'Don't worry, Mentor. At worst, I'll earn money to support you in the future, haha!'

Felina gave him a slight glare, rolling her eyes, and pedaled ahead; Li Size quickly sped up to follow, continuing:

'Don't worry, Mentor, I already have a plan to make money.'

Seeing Felina turn her head to look at him with doubt, he continued to explain:

'I have two small inventions. If they can be put into mass production, they can definitely earn a large amount of Gold Coins.

'This will require your participation, Mentor. By then, 100 Gold Coins will definitely be a small matter.

'Secondly, regarding this 'Borrowing a Chicken to Lay an Egg' plan, although it's a mission, there is significant profit margin in the weapon production. I'll hire you as the security consultant for the factory to deter criminals. I'll give you one-tenth of the factory's profit. How about it?'

Although Li Size didn't elaborate, Felina's faith in his intelligence had been established over the past few days, and she was full of hope for his plan, smiling:

'Okay, I believe you!

'Ugh, let's forget about the security consultant part. We are partners, and this is also an organizational mission. How can I take a cut of your family's profit for free?'

Li Size shook his head and teased:

'When you become one of us in the future, that one-tenth cut will certainly not be mentioned.

'But for now, we must keep things separate. The weapon factory has huge profits, and I fear that some restless individuals might develop wicked intentions. With my and my father's backgrounds, I definitely cannot suppress these people.

'But you are a Wizard Apprentice and have an academy background. Using your name, most people wouldn't dare cause trouble. This isn't a free cut.'

Felina slowed her bike, looked steadily at Li Size for a few seconds, her face slightly flushed, and suddenly gave him a light, fleeting kiss on his right cheek, like a dragonfly skimming water. Li Size froze, instinctively reaching out his right hand to embrace the charming Mentor...

'Hehe.'

Amidst a laugh like a silver bell, the Mentor, like a sprite, accelerated her bicycle and rode far away...

Li Size could only regretfully chase after her. In the biting cold wind, the sound of bicycle bells and laughter drifted, witnessed only by the first snowflake blowing in from the north, marking the end of this beautiful story.

It began to snow, and Gray Mist Mountain Town instantly turned silver-white, resembling a quiet and peaceful fairyland.

However, only a few people knew that the shadow of war already loomed over this land; if love and war are humanity's eternal themes, then making money is the common language of Li Size and Felina...

At noon, the two, who hadn't seen each other for just one night, were together again.

Both were exceptional people and didn't care about the strange looks and speculation from other mentors and students. Since they weren't a couple yet, the innocent would remain innocent, and the guilty would remain guilty. Even if they became a couple in the future, why should they care?

Li Size's purpose was to discuss the next plan, and there were also some things he needed to ask Felina about:

'Mentor, does the Duchy have any decrees protecting invention and creation rights?'

Felina naturally knew about the small inventions Li Size mentioned last night. She replied:

'Knowledge is the foundation of world development, and the Wizard World values the protection of knowledge the most. I believe you've heard of the 'Wizard's Principle of Equivalent Exchange'; this principle mainly targets the transmission of knowledge.'
