44: Chapter 0044 Interview

After figuring it out, Gelia nodded apologetically to Li Size:

"After the statistics are done, there will be refunds or additional payments. We will notify you then."

"However, Li Size, your contribution is the greatest, so you probably won't need to pay any more Gele City gold coins to the police station."

Li Size nodded noncommittally, turning to see Felina still curiously examining the Terror Beast corpse.

He assumed she also wanted a corpse to summon a necromantic servant.

Last time, Felina had explained to them:

Summoning a necromantic servant using a biological corpse obtained from the material world not only has a lower difficulty and consumes less Mental Energy, but the only drawback is that it cannot be carried on one's person.

These Magic Monster corpses did indeed hold some attraction for her.

He walked over and asked:

"Felina, do you want these corpses? When you have time in the future, I'll accompany you out to hunt Magic Monsters."

Felina smiled sweetly at him upon hearing this, then shook her head and asked with confusion:

"I have some research on Magic Monster habits. These Terror Beasts should live in warm forests."

"It's still winter now, and the snow hasn't even completely melted. How could they appear here?"

Li Size scratched his scalp in bewilderment. This woman was truly an academic prodigy.

He really didn't know this obscure piece of knowledge.

Gelia also nodded thoughtfully upon hearing this:

"I seem to remember that too. Hmm, there might be two reasons: First, they ventured out to hunt due to hunger. The second is that they were driven out by an external force. Our very smart Li Size, which possibility do you think it is?"

Li Size looked at Gelia with slight surprise, wondering why this female Deputy Director seemed to like picking on him recently.

It was true that he was smart, but he was just a novice Wizard who knew nothing. How could he guess about this kind of thing?

Seeing Li Size momentarily flustered, Gelia felt a slight sense of triumph.

Felina, however, could not bear to see her beloved struggling, so she pondered for a moment:

"It should be possible to rule out venturing out due to hunger."

Seeing both Gelia and Li Size look towards her, Felina slightly furrowed her delicate nose and continued to explain:

"There are two reasons: First, this location is quite far from the forest where they might reside, which does not align with typical biological hunting habits."

"Second, Magic Monsters are not intelligent beings and would not engage in organized predatory behavior. Yet, we encountered five of them this time, clearly from the same Magic Monster cluster."

Li Size pondered for a moment and agreed that her reasoning made sense. It seemed that after spending so much time with him, Felina was becoming increasingly intelligent.

Gelia also nodded and continued:

"Then it must only be because they were driven out by an external force?"

Li Size thought for a moment, then looked at Gelia and said:

"Perhaps something major happened in the forest, forcing these Terror Beasts to flee. In that case, I suggest you, Gelia, should strengthen patrols in the direction of the forest. Similar incidents might happen again."

"Furthermore, is there any possibility of investigating the abnormality in the forest?"

Gelia also sensed the potential danger and stopped dwelling on picking on Li Size, saying with worry:

"The police station only has about four hundred guns in total; our resources are indeed stretched thin."

"I can only arrange for someone to post an investigation mission at the Crimson Soul Adventurer's Association in Gele City. Alas, I truly hope nothing bad has happened."

The Crimson Soul Adventurer's Association—don't mistake this name for a civilian organization. It was a solid official organization.

Because the generation of Magic Monsters occurred constantly, and the Duchy's territory was vast—almost twenty times that of the original Blue Star's Yanxia—most areas were uninhabited blank zones, making it impossible for the army to completely control and clear every region.

Therefore, the Duchy's military established the Crimson Soul Adventurer's Association.

This organization utilized resources transferred from the army to provide logistical support such as Magic Monster intelligence and spoils exchange, thereby organizing voluntary participation from retired veterans, strong individuals unwilling to enlist, and so on.

It became the most powerful institution in the Crimson Soul Duchy outside of the military, with a total number of personnel far exceeding the police System, only slightly inferior in terms of top-tier powerhouses.

After a brief discussion, Li Size motioned for the two women to get on the motorcycle to return to the small town.

The strange feeling Gelia had while clinging tightly to Li Size earlier made her somewhat resistant, yet she also yearned to experience the thrill of the motorcycle ride again.

She finally convinced herself that riding a bicycle would take too long.

She gracefully straddled behind Li Size, expertly holding him tightly, which left the two remaining Patrol Officers dumbfounded.

Unsure of the exact relationship between Li Size and Gelia, this scene made Gelia secretly regretful, yet also uncertain about what the situation implied.

"Whoosh!"

Lost in thought, Li Size was already speeding away with the two women, transforming into a fiery meteor streaking into the distance...

Psychologists have statistically proven that the return journey always feels psychologically faster than the departure.

The fiery red streak of light flashed across the wilderness like lightning, startling the distant wild beasts into fleeing in all directions. In a short while, the outline of the small town was faintly visible.

Suddenly, Li Size saw a bicycle approaching in the distance, blocking his path...

A blonde beauty was waving her hand from afar; she looked vaguely familiar.

Li Size had no choice but to brake sharply and stop the vehicle, executing a precise drift to halt directly in front of Lilith.

The strong wind caused Lilith's large blonde waves to flutter wildly, threatening to lift her skirt again, inviting a closer look:

"Excuse me, do you need something?"

Olif stood nearby, leaning on his bicycle and panting heavily, while Lilith hopped off the back of the bike and took out her ID badge to hand to Li Size.

She quickly introduced herself:

"Oh! Hello, sir! I am Lilith, a senior reporter for the Ge Le City Business Gazette."

Li Size paused slightly. A reporter was actually looking for him. He nodded, signaling her to continue.

Lilith continued upon seeing this:

"I heard that a very large-scale armory opened in Gray Mist Mountain Town. I originally intended to interview the owner about why they would establish such a factory in this remote, impoverished area with no prospect of market growth."

"However, upon meeting you, I changed my mind. I want to interview you, sir."

That statement was practically saying the owner was out of his mind.

Gelia and Felina also dismounted and heard Lilith's words. They both glanced sideways at Li Size, stifling their laughter.

Li Size glared fiercely at the two women, then said with a blank expression:

"I am the owner of the Li Size Machinery Manufacturing Plant. Cough... the son."

Lilith covered her mouth in surprise upon hearing this, saying with slight embarrassment:

"Oh, I'm sorry, that's not what I meant. Uh, well, please forgive my rudeness."

Seeing Li Size shrug and not pursue the matter further, she continued to ask:

"Heavens! Your factory is amazing! Is this also the new type of weapon you forged? May I know its name? Can I interview you? And can I take some Sorcery Recordings of it? Can I publish it in our newspaper? Oh! Such a miraculous product, we might be able to get it a headline! I've traveled all over the Crimson Soul Duchy and have never seen such a miraculous product before."

Li Size frowned slightly upon hearing so many questions at once, pondering. Reporters certainly asked too many questions.

However, on second thought, this seemed like an opportunity...
