150: Chapter 0150 Hunting Time

Li Size paused, then continued his explanation:

"Regarding trajectory correction, look at the distance on the screen—

They are 5 kilometers away from us. Gravity will cause the bullet to drop 2.5 meters, so when aiming, you need to elevate by 0.58 scale marks.

Additionally, the air resistance in the morning mist is 10% greater than usual, which will slow the bullet down, so you must anticipate their movements beforehand."

Violet's eyes widened:

"Brother-in-law, how do you know so much?"

Li Size smiled:

"My rigorous training in Marksmanship wasn't for nothing."

Li Size looked at the Feiting squad on the screen, his finger resting on the Barrett's trigger:

"Get ready—

They are almost done resting.

Gelia, you aim for Aila. Her staff is by her leg, she's unguarded.

Felina, you aim for Lucas. His back is facing us.

Violet, you aim for Mia. Her attention is on her notebook.

I will aim for Kyle."

The three women responded in unison:

"Understood!"

Li Size took a deep breath, channeling his Mental Energy into the scope. A red dot appeared over Kyle's heart on the screen—

That was the result of the weakness scan.

Just as the Feiting squad prepared to move, Li Size pulled the trigger:

"Bang!"

The Barrett's gunshot was muffled by the silencing rune, emitting only a dull thud. The bullet shot toward Kyle's heart like a silver lightning—

Kyle's eyes suddenly snapped open. He clutched his chest, spitting out a mouthful of blood, and collapsed straight down.

Almost simultaneously, Gelia's and Felina's shots rang out:

Aila was hit in the head, and Lucas's back was pierced. Both died instantly.

Violet's bullet flew toward Mia, but a faint blue light shield suddenly flared up on Mia's chest—

It was a trigger-type protective magical tool; the bullet was blocked by the shield. Mia shrieked and scrambled up:

"Attack! Captain Kyle!"

Seeing this, Li Size immediately adjusted the scope and pulled the trigger again:

"Finish them off!"

The bullet pierced Mia's light shield and struck her temple. Mia fell to the ground, motionless. Violet breathed a sigh of relief, her face showing lingering fear:

"Brother-in-law, that was so close. Her protective magical tool blocked my bullet..."

Li Size patted her shoulder:

"It's fine. You did very well. Hitting a vital spot on your first sniping attempt is already amazing."

Felina put away the Barrett, her eyes calm:

"We need to quickly find the corpses and take them away. If we delay, other Feiting squads might search this area."

Li Size placed a hand on Violet's shoulder, his gaze sharp as an eagle's:

"You wait here for me. I'll take the Blue Star to retrieve the bodies—

It's fast and won't alert the other Feiting squads."

The Blue Star was a witchcraft motorcycle modified by Li Size. Its chassis was inlaid with Wind Element Runes, and its tires were made of enchanted Materials, allowing it to glide silently through the forest.

He mounted the motorcycle, his fingertip brushing over the acceleration rune on the handlebar. The Blue Star instantly transformed into a streak of cyan lightning and vanished into the morning mist.

Half an hour later, Li Size returned carrying four corpses:

The captain's body was secured on the motorcycle's rear seat, while the bodies of the other three were tied to the side with vines. Violet covered her nose:

"Brother-in-law, it stinks so much..."

Felina patted her back:

"Bear with it. There is intelligence we need among these corpses."

Gelia cleaned up the residual traces left by the group:

"The traces have been cleaned up; they shouldn't expose us. Perhaps the enemy will assume they were devoured by a Magic Monster."

The four began traveling day and night:

During the day, Li Size and Gelia took turns driving the Blue Star. Felina scanned the surroundings with her Mental Energy, and Violet was responsible for dispensing water and dry rations.

At night, they camped in a hidden cave, where Felina set up a ward formation using necromancy.

Time transitioned from the mist-shrouded dawn to the setting sun of dusk, and then to the star-studded deep night—

It was three in the morning on the third day when they finally saw the rune lamp of Gray Mist Mountain Town.

The guard at the town gate rubbed his eyes:

"Lord Gelia? Why are you back?"

Gelia took out her identification:

"On a mission. Open the gate quickly."

The guard quickly opened the city gate:

"Please come in."

The four returned directly to Li Size's Laboratory—

The rune lamp in the Laboratory was still lit. Flora was already waiting at the door; today was the day she was scheduled to report to Li Size:

"Master, you're back!"

Li Size waved his hand, signaling Flora to lay down the waterproof cloth:

"Carry the bodies over. We will search them one by one."

He squatted down and first ran his fingertip over the pocket of Kyle's military uniform—

He pulled out a dagger engraved with a wolf head rune (the blade was quenched with silver, capable of breaking the defense of low-level Magic Monsters), a leather pouch containing 3 Magic Cores (level 2.8 - 3.2), and the leather scroll imprinted with the Feiting national emblem.

"This scroll contains the model and advancement knowledge for Zero Ring Communication Spell,"

He stroked the edge of the scroll, his eyes shining, thinking to himself: "I'll learn it first, then use Pay-to-Win to boost it to the Great Master level before deducing and optimizing it into my own modified sorcery—

This way, I can pass it on to the few women, especially Lilith in Gele City. She can specialize in the Communication Spell and Sorcery Recording Domains."

Next, he turned to Aila's corpse:

He took the oak staff (the orange-red magic crystal at the top was already shattered) and half a bottle of Mental Energy recovery potion (only one-third left).

From Lucas's body, he found a silver short sword (the blade showed signs of wear) and a piece of hard, dry black bread.

Mia had a light blue light shield magical tool hanging around her neck (trigger-type, capable of blocking one Zero-Ring Sorcery attack), along with a notebook stained with wolf blood and a feather pen.

"Violet,"

Li Size picked up the light shield magical tool and handed it over:

"This is for your self-defense—

It triggers automatically when you encounter danger, which is more reliable than your minor sorceries."

Violet took the magical tool. The light shield rippled faintly blue in her palm. Her eyes sparkled:

"Thank you, Brother-in-law!"

He finally glanced over the remaining spoils:

"Keep the dagger to dismantle for Materials. Give the Magic Cores to Felina for practicing sorcery. The staff and the short sword are useless—

Throw them into the furnace to be melted down."

Felina took out necromancy incense and a witchcraft dagger engraved with a skull rune from her backpack, tracing the faint blue patterns on the incense with her fingertip:

"I will perform Corpse Questioning Art."

She stuck the necromancy incense into the soil next to the corpses and lit it. The smoke instantly transformed into dozens of black skulls, slowly rotating around the four bodies. Faint green light flickered in the skulls' eye sockets.

She lightly nicked her index finger with the dagger, and a drop of blood fell onto the forehead of the foremost corpse wearing the captain's uniform. Her voice was low and solemn:

"By the waters of the Styx as guide, awaken the slumbering tongue—"

Before she finished speaking, the six-pointed star array in the center of the scroll suddenly burst with a deep blue light. This light was not soft but carried an icy chill, like shards of frost, enveloping the corpse.

Seeing that the sorcery had taken effect, Felina asked:

"The cleanup squad you belonged to, how many people did the Feiting Federation dispatch for this mission?"

The captain's corpse's eyes suddenly opened. The grayish-white pupils held no trace of spirit (a characteristic effect of Corpse Questioning Art), and its lips trembled as it emitted a hoarse voice:

"Total... a total of several thousand squads... each squad having four to six people... all were either Wizard Apprentices or Formal Wizards..."
