18: Chapter 0018 Borrowing a Chicken

However, there was one last issue that, if not resolved, would render all their efforts useless:

"Crimson Soul must know that Feiting injected us with a slow-acting neuro-poison refined by sorcery."

"If we don't receive the inhibitor regularly, we will quickly degenerate into mindless Magic Monsters."

Rice rolled up his sleeve, the injection marks on his wrist had not yet completely faded.

Sven calmly replied with a solution, pulling out a vial of sorcery crystal containing blue liquid from his pocket and shaking it, which finally made Rice think seriously:

"We actually had the matching antidote for this neuro-poison long ago; we just lacked the opportunity to use it."

"Oh? Do you mean you have already embedded informants within Feiting who can transmit intelligence?"

Rice’s eyes widened when he heard this, and he leaned forward in surprise.

He hadn't expected Crimson Soul to achieve this level; having this antidote should make it very easy to plant Crimson Soul personnel within Feiting's intelligence System.

Sven shook his head, put the sorcery crystal vial back into his pocket, and patted it:

"Good steel must be used on the blade's edge. This antidote cannot be used lightly."

Sven didn't elaborate, just shrugged with a helpless tone. In reality, the standard of "The Lurkers" was quite high.

Although their inside contacts had obtained a lot of intelligence from the other side, it was basically post-facto information transmitted via sorcery.

There was absolutely no opportunity to directly capture core personnel of "The Lurkers"; arresting Rice this time was purely an accident.

The brief exchange between the two sides was mostly complete. Rice confirmed that his life was not in danger.

If the Crimson Soul Duchy could resolve some of the worries regarding his family, he might be willing to join the Crimson Soul Duchy, or even hedge his bets by becoming a double agent, which wouldn't be bad.

Historically, there were one or two Seniors who thrived on both sides, and in the end, no one could figure out which country they truly belonged to using sorcery.

Most importantly, this was the world of wizards. If he could successfully advance to become a Formal Wizard, none of this would be an issue!

Rice stroked his chin, his eyes flickering.

He still had some confidence in this regard. Why else would he accept such a dangerous mission infiltrating the Crimson Soul Duchy, other than the desire to more easily obtain merit points to exchange for the organization's sorcery resources?

Rice clenched his fist, his gaze firm.

Through this conversation, Sven had basically confirmed that controlling Ilena could influence Rice.

Coupled with the thorough preparatory work done by the entire organization, he nodded, a smile playing on his lips, confident that he could ultimately persuade Rice to join the Internal Affairs Department.

After gaining Rice's consent, Sven temporarily confiscated his civilization staff and restrained his hands with special sorcery shackles carved with Demonic Energy suppression runes.

Then, he had Gelia use a flying message to inform the police station personnel to retreat first, as it was inappropriate for them to see Rice.

Only five people and one corpse remained in the room. With no one else disturbing them, Sven clapped his hands to signal everyone to quiet down and said with a smile:

"Ahem, next up is the time to divide the spoils. I will explain the organization's rules to you."

According to Internal Affairs Department regulations, members of the Internal Affairs Department were only required to turn over 20% of the reasonably obtained spoils of war, based on the assessed value, to the Internal Affairs Department.

Don't look at it as just 20%. On one hand, turning over too much would dampen the morale of the team members; after all, the organization's primary goal was mission completion.

But they couldn't collect nothing. Collecting a portion was for supervision, allowing them to monitor to some extent whether the spoils reported by the members were compliant.

The four words "reasonably obtained" inherently carried a lot of flexibility.

For example, the unexpected appearance of the armed police officer Wilson in this mission, a portion of his assets after he was killed belonged to "reasonable spoils of war."

But without this supervision, perhaps without a corrupt cop, one could artificially create a corrupt cop.

Secondly, in the past, some members used sorcery to forge spoils records and plunder excessively, so supervision was necessary.

Historically, when the Internal Affairs Department was first established in the Duchy without this regulation, many scoundrels within the organization had used the guise of missions to murder and seize wealth using sorcery.

Furthermore, which items could be classified as reasonable spoils of war? Were all of Wilson's belongings included?

Certainly not. Sven shook his head and tapped the table with his finger.

Taking Wilson as an example, large real estate like property would be confiscated by the local government; items belonging to others or whose ownership was contested by others could not be claimed.

Items involving contraband like sorcery weapons or Demonic Energy crystals, those carrying significant risk, or those requiring authorization could also not be possessed; these would be handled uniformly by the Internal Affairs Department.

A reasonable distribution System was a necessary prerequisite for the organization's vigorous development.

After handing over 20%, the remaining 80% was distributed using a weighted average calculation by the sorcery calculator, according to the coefficient ratio of 3:2:1:1 for the Captain, deputy captain, team members, and registered external helpers.

As Sven explained the organization's mature distribution System, he observed everyone's reaction, noticing Li Size's expression of wanting to speak but holding back, and he understood.

He paused, patted Li Size's shoulder, and smiled at him:

"According to regulations, non-registered members are counted as members."

Li Size secretly clenched his fist, a smile appearing on his face, secretly delighted:

The organization hasn't abandoned me after all. This mission undertaken at the risk of my life wasn't in vain.

Seeing that Li Size had no issues, he turned to Rice:

"As per superior instructions, Rice will be a deputy captain upon joining and assigned to my team. This mission's spoils will be issued after your formal induction."

Rice raised an eyebrow and nodded.

Li Size rubbed the back of his head, smiled, and his brow lifted slightly upon hearing this:

This organization seems pretty good.

At this point, the life-and-death crisis Li Size encountered after his Transmigration was finally completely resolved after these bizarre twists and turns.

He leaned against the wall and let out a long breath, finally able to relax. Next, he planned to utilize the Pay-to-Win System to steadily improve himself.

This experience made him realize that even under the order constructed by sorcery civilization, theAnother world (other world) was still fraught with danger at every step; he absolutely needed to stay steady and not take reckless risks.

The 40 gold coins Rice brought, 35 of which were in a cloth bag, had already been communicated by Sven to his superiors to serve as mission funds for Felina and Li Size.

This was also considered Sven's help to Felina, showing that Sven treated his team members quite well.

As for the remaining 5 gold coins belonging to Wilson, they were the team's spoils of war.

Felina took out 23 gold coins from the witch box carved with spatial runes and left them, pushing the remaining 12 gold coins in front of Li Size.

In her words, as a partner, she naturally should give 2 of those 5 gold coins to Li Size, and the remaining 10 gold coins were Li Size's mission funds.

According to the arrangement by Yanhu (Crimson Soul) Sven, Rice, as a deputy captain with a special status, enjoyed autonomy in daily matters, only needing to adhere to the overall mission arrangements of the organization.

In case of emergencies, he could directly contact Sven through a one-time, sorcery-encrypted communication node.

As for what kind of special channel this was, Sven didn't show it to the others; this was a confidentiality rule for Captain-level personnel.

Since Rice had already reported Felina to 'The Lurkers' organization in Feiting, she would serve as Rice's daily contact person to assist him in completing missions.

To reduce the risk of leaks, Felina would not directly contact Sven; instead, Li Size would act as Felina's daily contact to relay the relevant information.

The matter Rice previously mentioned about expanding the armaments factory to secretly manufacture and store weapons was analyzed by Sven and Li Size, both speculating that Feiting was conducting strategic stockpiling for war escalation.

These weapons secretly stored in the border areas of the Crimson Soul Duchy under Feiting's control could play a huge role during wartime.

For example, they could be used in the Early Stages of the war to arm and support the rebel forces within the Duchy, causing trouble for the Duchy.

Clearly, both sides were rational; the shadow of war was drawing nearer, and both sides were predicting the direction of the war, preparing with all their might in various ways.

Although this was Feiting's mission, Li Size's eyes flickered, and he actively volunteered, believing they could completely use the situation to their advantage (borrowing the chicken to lay eggs):

These weapons were within Crimson Soul's territory, and the organization could completely control them.

It was just a matter of making 'Feiting' believe that this was their money and that these goods belonged to them, but when it truly came time to use them, could they really have the final say?

Most importantly, since they already had this plan, even if Rice failed to complete it, Feiting might still take other measures to carry out this mission.

Without sorcery monitoring, this would be even less controllable for the Internal Affairs Department.

Li Size patted the table carved with reinforcement runes and said with a resolute gaze:

So, why not borrow Feiting's chicken to lay Crimson Soul's eggs!

Using the resources they provided to build sorcery weapons monitored by us is a guaranteed profitable venture!
