93: Histrionic personality

"Save me, save me..." came a series of intermittent cries for help.

Lu Jiahao's heart skipped a beat. He quickly put down the chair in his hand and rubbed his aching arms. "It's Sun Ye's voice. He's still alive."

A look of pleasant surprise immediately appeared on his face. He turned to grab Xiao Chi's sleeve, stammering with excitement, "Maternal Uncle, my buddy is still alive, he's alive..."

"I heard you, I heard you! This poor Daoist isn't deaf." Xiao Chi said one thing but meant another; while he appeared calm on the surface, he also felt a secret sense of relief.

He took out a silk handkerchief and carefully bandaged the wound on his foolish nephew's hand.

"Hiss, hiss, hiss... it hurts, it hurts, it hurts..." Lu Jiahao couldn't help but cry out, grimacing in pain.

Xiao Chi impatiently tied a messy dead knot, muttering under his breath, "It's just a small injury, yet you're making such a face. Not a single bit of manliness in you."

"Maternal Uncle, Maternal Uncle! There's still glass shards in the flesh!" Lu Jiahao stomped his feet in pain, tears nearly falling from his eyes.

"Uh! My apologies, an old man's memory isn't what it used to be." Only then did Xiao Chi realize his oversight. He sheepishly shifted his gaze and walked toward the cries for help.

Yun Xi, following behind with a speechless expression, cut the dead knot for Lu Jiahao.

[An old man? An old man in his forties?!]

...The cries for help grew louder, sounding as if they were right in front of them.

The four of them approached the utility room with light steps, doing their best to avoid the fragments of flesh and blood scattered across the floor.

Lu Jiahao lowered his voice and called out, "Sun Ye, Sun Ye, is that you?"

The utility room was silent for a moment, but in the next second, a faint rustling sound rang out.

Before Tang Tang could push the door open, it opened on its own, revealing rows of white candles.

The candlelight swayed gently in the wind as wisps of thin smoke curled upward, and candle wax dripped onto the floor, forming patches of wax marks.

Behind a pile of junk sat a person—a thin, withered figure, much like a reed swaying in the wind.

"Sun Ye!"

But at this moment, Sun Ye's eyes were dull, and he did not turn to look at Tang Tang and the others.

"Sun Ye, it's me, Lu Jiahao!"

"Second Young Master Lu?" Sun Ye twisted his head with great effort, a flash of confusion crossing his eyes for an instant.

Once he clearly saw his good friend, he forced a smile. "Second Young Master Lu, you've come."

However, that smile was hideous to behold.

Lu Jiahao slumped onto the ground. "Brother, your face? The fox..."

Sun Ye secretly clenched his fists and suddenly slammed his head against the wall.

With a muffled "thud," a bruise quickly formed on Sun Ye's forehead.

But he seemed unable to feel the pain, slamming his head against the wall once more with force.

"Stop hitting yourself!"

Lu Jiahao hurriedly reached out to grab Sun Ye's shoulders, trying to stop the self-harming behavior.

But Sun Ye seemed to have lost his mind, struggling desperately to break free from Lu Jiahao's restraint.

"Let me go! Let me destroy this fox face!" Sun Ye screamed at the top of his lungs.

"No, Sun Ye, you can't do this! I'll help you find a way to solve this."

Lu Jiahao hugged Sun Ye tightly, unable to stop his tears from falling. [Brother, if you're gone, there'll be no one left in the Freebie Squad!]

"It's useless, everything is ruined... my face..."

Sun Ye muttered to himself, his eyes filled with despair.

"No, it won't be! There must be a way to restore your appearance. We'll go find the best doctors in Country H," Lu Jiahao comforted him.

Sun Ye shook his head. "It's impossible... no one can fix my face..."

"Don't worry! Brother, I've brought a Master to save you."

"Tsk..." Tang Tang watched the two of them perform their "deep brotherhood" act.

Her lips twitched slightly as she thought to herself, "This 'person' is quite the actor. It's truly laughable."

Sun Ye seemed to have heard something, and his eyes suddenly lit up as if he were grasping at a final straw.

However, before he could ask Lu Jiahao which one was the "Master," Tang Tang's hand was already placed on the center of his forehead.

A faint red light emerged from her palm. Tang Tang blinked her innocent, wide eyes, tapped her chin, and said coquettishly, "Oh? You introduced Wild Fox to Lu Jiahao on purpose because you were jealous of him!"

"My, my, my. After seeing Wild Fox with him, you suddenly felt a surge of appetite and ordered several young models at once. That waist power of yours, tsk tsk tsk, is quite impressive!"

"Oh dear, you even had time for a romantic encounter. You really are a fickle playboy!"

..."Oh my, in the end, you actually provoked the White Lotus Sect. Having only your face ruined without losing your life is already thanks to your ancestors' protection. You're quite lucky."

As Tang Tang spoke, Sun Ye's expression gradually turned dark.

With every word Tang Tang uttered, Sun Ye's face became uglier. Clearly, everything she said was true, leaving Sun Ye with no way to refute it.

Meanwhile, Yun Xi was greatly surprised by Tang Tang's ability and asked curiously, "Little Grandmaster, how did you know all this?"

"Take a guess!" Tang Tang cast a Cleaning Spell over herself with a look of disgust and slowly began to wash her hands.

Xiao Chi straightened his sleeves and said slowly, "That is Little Martial Aunt's special ability. She can sense whether 'ordinary people' are lying through touch."

"Furthermore, what kind of good friend likes to play with the women his brother has already been with? And disciple, didn't you notice that his upper jaw's fate line is somewhat similar to Goudan's?"

Yun Xi suddenly understood and turned to look at Lu Jiahao. "Young Master Lu is truly no ordinary man!"

Tang Tang joined in the teasing, spreading her hands toward Lu Jiahao and joking, "So green!"

"Sun the Gorilla, you actually dared to play me!" Lu Jiahao roared, punching Sun Ye square in the nose.

Blood immediately streamed from Sun Ye's nose. He wailed while pointing at Lu Jiahao and cursing, "You useless trash! You're so stupid, so what if I plotted for a bit of your Yang energy!"

"Damn it, you dared to lie to me."

"Aow, aow, aow..." came a series of wails.

Lu Jiahao beat Sun Ye frantically before finally grabbing Sun Ye's collar and demanding angrily, "Goudan is your child, isn't he?"

"So what if he is? That woman knows how to play; she knew the child wasn't yours, so she didn't dare ask you for money..." Sun Ye replied tremulously.

Hearing this, Lu Jiahao's gaze instantly became incredibly fierce.

With a powerful shove, he threw Sun Ye hard onto the ground with a dull thud.

"Scumbag!" he cursed viciously.

Yun Xi stood quietly to the side, looking at Sun Ye on the ground thoughtfully, sighing inwardly, "The two of you are cut from the same cloth, six of one and half a dozen of the other."

Sun Ye struggled to crawl up from the ground, his eyes wide as he stared in terror at Tang Tang's pure face.

"You... what kind of thing are you? How do you know everything?" he asked, trembling.

"Me? I'm a Master, of course."

Sun Ye lowered his head in terror, no longer daring to look her in the eye.

Tang Tang gave a soft huff, then lifted her foot and lightly kicked the candle at her feet. "Speak! What were you trying to use Layman Lu for?"
