228: Chapter 228 The Hongmen Dark Web Four-Man Group, the Third Member—Zhang Min

After that, Qin Yi chatted with President Xu about some trivial matters, mainly with Qin Yi inquiring about the details of Saturday's banquet.

These seemingly insignificant conversations inadvertently brought the two closer.

Half an hour passed, President Xu stood up to leave, and Qin Yi followed suit, accompanying him all the way to the elevator entrance.

"Mr. Qin, please stay," President Xu said politely with a smile.

Qin Yi paused, watching President Xu enter the elevator, a smile on the corner of his mouth: "Then, see you later, President Xu."

The elevator doors slowly closed, separating the two figures.

Inside the elevator, President Xu could not hide his excitement, his hands waving unconsciously.

After seeing off President Xu, Qin Yi returned to the conference room door.

Listening to the movement inside, it seemed they were discussing the renovation plan for the 14th floor.

Qin Yi grasped the doorknob and pushed gently; the conference room door opened in response.

Seeing Qin Yi enter, Xu Qian's face blossomed into a bright smile as she stood up from her chair, "Boss, you're here."

Qin Xiaoyue, Liu Yan, and the three people sent by the renovation company also stood up one after another.

The man who had just been presenting the plan stopped his voice immediately.

Qin Yi looked at him, smiled slightly, and raised his hand to signal him to continue, "It's fine, please continue. I'm just here to listen."

Xu Qian smiled and introduced him to the renovation company staff: "This is the boss of our Yiqian Entertainment Media company, Qin Yi."

The man giving the presentation hurriedly reached out, shook hands with Qin Yi respectfully, and then handed his business card to Qin Yi, introducing himself: "Hello, Boss Qin, I am Li Yi, the project director of Hongtian Decoration and Renovation Company. This is my card."

As he spoke, he also helped introduce the two people next to him, "This is our design consultant Tina, and this is Master Wang, the chief engineer from our engineering department."

Qin Yi shook hands with the three of them individually, glanced at the business card in his hand, and asked curiously: "Hongtian Decoration and Renovation Company? What is your relationship with Hongtian Group?"

As he spoke, he sat directly in the C-seat at the conference table.

Seeing that the others were still standing, he raised his hand to signal, "Don't be so formal, everyone, please sit."

After sitting down, Li Yi immediately replied: "There is some relationship. Our company's boss is the nephew of the chairman of Hongtian Group. However, there is no direct relationship in terms of the company's operating entity."

Qin Yi nodded, placed the business card on the table, and said, "I see. I understand now. Please continue with the discussion; I'll listen."

He leaned back in his chair, adopting a posture of listening intently.

Li Yi cleared his throat and continued to report on the renovation plan.

While listening, Qin Yi took out his phone and opened the Miniature Bionic Tracker app.

In the real-time feed, Su Mo had already returned to her mother's side.

With everyone in the conference room, Qin Yi couldn't hear what they were talking about, thinking to himself that it would be great if this real-time feed had subtitles.

Immediately, he muted his phone.

Although he couldn't hear what Su Mo and her mother were talking about, just by looking at her, Su Mo's mood seemed much better.

Qin Yi breathed a slight sigh of relief and then set the tracker's target to Ye Qingcheng.

However, as expected, the Miniature Bionic Tracker immediately popped up a prompt: Target signal lost, unable to track temporarily!

Qin Yi frowned slightly, thinking that Ye Qingcheng should still be underground at that abandoned parking lot.

After pondering for a moment, he switched the tracker's mode to cruise mode and set the destination to that abandoned parking lot.

The image changed rapidly, and the Miniature Bionic Tracker moved quickly towards the direction of Magic City.

Qin Yi temporarily stopped paying attention to the Miniature Bionic Tracker and refocused his attention on the renovation design PPT.

...

Meanwhile, inside the National Security safe house in Magic City, a loud "bang" sound came, and the door to the detention room where Chen Mo was being held was slammed shut.

Ye Qingcheng gently rotated her wrists, a hint of displeasure on her face, and walked towards the stairs.

Shen Jianan followed closely, looking back at the door with some worry.

The two walked into the lobby downstairs one after another.

Shen Jianan hesitated for a moment, then couldn't help but ask: "Captain Ye, is it not against the rules for you to treat Chen Mo like this? Aren't you afraid of accidentally beating him to death?"

"Rules? Here, my rules are the rules!" Ye Qingcheng said, glancing sideways at Shen Jianan.

She pulled up a chair and sat down, her eyes fixed on the surveillance footage around Sister Hong's shop, and continued nonchalantly: "Don't worry, I know what I'm doing. A Martial Artist like Chen Mo won't die from a few punches and kicks."

Hearing this, Shen Jianan couldn't help but frown, "But violent interrogation is not the way to solve the problem. Chen Mo is clearly a tough nut to crack; I'm afraid he won't easily succumb to these methods."

Upon hearing this, Ye Qingcheng turned to look at Shen Jianan, a flash of approval in her eyes.

She nodded and said slowly: "You're right, Chen Mo is indeed a tough nut to crack. However, even the toughest people have weaknesses."

Saying this, a hint of cunning flashed in her eyes.

Just then, Ye Qingcheng's phone suddenly rang.

She picked up the phone and saw it was the internal encrypted communication software for National Security.

She quickly opened the message, and a photo immediately came into view.

Immediately after, a call came in.

"Hello, this is Ye Qingcheng, please speak!" Ye Qingcheng's voice became serious instantly.

"Captain Ye, the investigation into Chen Mo's family relations that you arranged has results. I have already sent the photo to you; the people in it are Chen Mo's wife and children." A man's voice came from the other end of the phone.

Ye Qingcheng looked at the photo on the phone again; it was a family portrait, and the man in the middle was the detained Chen Mo.

Ye Qingcheng curled the corners of her mouth, "Very good, where are they now?"

"On Volcano Island. However, according to the report from our field agents, their family is being monitored by a local Gang, and our people cannot approach them for the time being."

"Hostages?" Ye Qingcheng's eyebrows arched, her tone revealing a hint of coldness.

"Should be," the other party replied concisely.

"Good, I understand. Tell the field agents to continue monitoring, stay safe, and absolutely do not expose yourselves." Ye Qingcheng ordered in a low voice.

"Yes!" A firm response came from the other end of the phone.

Then the phone hung up.

Shen Jianan looked at Ye Qingcheng in shock, asking: "Captain Ye, when did you arrange for people to investigate Chen Mo?"

Ye Qingcheng smiled lightly, a hint of cunning flashing in her eyes: "Heh, from the moment I caught him, I had already started arranging it."

"But... how did you know he still had a wife and children?" Shen Jianan's curiosity was completely piqued.

Ye Qingcheng looked up at Shen Jianan, the smile on her lips deepening: "Very simple. People in this world always have financial transactions. Before Chen Mo assassinated Blade Brother, he transferred 500,000 to an overseas account. I had people follow this clue all the way, and as a result, I found his family."

Shen Jianan nodded in admiration upon hearing this: "So that's it. That means Chen Mo's wife and children are actually being controlled by someone, so his weakness is his family?"

"Exactly," Ye Qingcheng nodded, the expression on her face becoming serious, "In this world, there aren't many true dead soldiers. Most people are forced to risk their lives because their weaknesses are being held against them."

Saying this, Ye Qingcheng suddenly changed the subject and looked at Shen Jianan: "So next, what do you think we should do? Should we send someone to rescue his family directly?"

Shen Jianan frowned upon hearing this, thought for a moment, and shook her head: "I'm afraid that's not very realistic. Volcano Island is, after all, US territory, and we don't have jurisdiction. If we act rashly, it might cause unnecessary trouble. Even if we want to save them, we have to plan it carefully."

Ye Qingcheng nodded in agreement: "You're right. This matter does need careful consideration; we cannot act rashly."

As they were talking, their eyes were suddenly attracted by a scene on the surveillance screen.

They saw the door to Sister Hong's shop slowly open.

Sister Hong was wearing a large sun hat, covering half her face.

After looking around, she quickly pulled down the shop's rolling shutter and drove away.

"Captain Ye, Sister Hong has left. Should we take the opportunity to sneak into the shop and check it out? Or just install some pinhole cameras; maybe we can discover something." Shen Jianan's eyes flashed with a hint of cunning, and she suggested excitedly.

Ye Qingcheng frowned upon hearing this, thought for a moment, but shook her head: "No rush. Sister Hong is a cautious person. If we act rashly without concrete evidence, it's easy to alert the enemy."

Sure enough, as Ye Qingcheng expected, about ten minutes later, Sister Hong's car slowly drove back in front of the shop.

After getting out of the car, Sister Hong stood in front of the rolling shutter for more than ten seconds, seemingly confirming something.

However, she did not enter the shop, but turned back to the car, stepped on the gas, and the car sped away.

Shen Jianan witnessed all this and couldn't help but exclaim: "Wow, Captain Ye, you really are god-like in your predictions! This Sister Hong really did double back. Good thing we didn't act rashly, otherwise we would have definitely been exposed."

Ye Qingcheng smiled faintly and waved her hand: "Stop flattering me. Hurry up and keep an eye on that car; see where she is going."

"Got it!" Shen Jianan responded, her fingers typing rapidly on the keyboard, quickly connecting to the police force's city surveillance network.

She quickly entered the license plate number, pressed the Enter key, and the screen immediately switched to the real-time location of Sister Hong's vehicle.

Time passed minute by minute.

After about twenty minutes, Sister Hong's car finally stopped at Hang Lung Plaza.

Looking at the red dot position on the surveillance screen, Shen Jianan reported to Ye Qingcheng with confusion: "Hang Lung Plaza? Is Sister Hong going shopping?"

"Can you access the mall's internal surveillance?" Ye Qingcheng asked in a low voice.

"I'll try." Shen Jianan said, operating the keyboard again.

Before long, the surveillance screen successfully switched to the interior view of Hang Lung Plaza.

"Bring up the surveillance for the elevator entrances on every floor!" Ye Qingcheng ordered.

Shen Jianan nodded in agreement and quickly executed Ye Qingcheng's instructions.

Ye Qingcheng's gaze moved rapidly across dozens of surveillance screens, finally fixing on the elevator exit on the fourth floor—Sister Hong's figure appeared in the frame.

"Here! Fourth floor! Quickly bring up all the surveillance for the fourth floor!" Ye Qingcheng said urgently.

Shen Jianan didn't dare to delay and immediately brought up all the surveillance footage for the fourth floor.

At this moment, they discovered that Sister Hong had already walked into a coffee shop.

"Captain Ye, Sister Hong has entered the coffee shop..." Shen Jianan said, enlarging the footage of Sister Hong entering the coffee shop and projecting it onto the main surveillance screen.

"Can you see what's happening inside the coffee shop?" Ye Qingcheng asked, frowning.

After trying for a while, Shen Jianan shook her head helplessly: "I can't see. The shop's surveillance is not connected to the network; we can only investigate through other channels."

As soon as she finished speaking, Ye Qingcheng's phone suddenly rang.

She glanced at the caller ID—it was Sister Hong calling.

Ye Qingcheng signaled Shen Jianan to be quiet, then answered the phone, pretending to be relaxed and teasing: "Hello? Sister Hong, we met yesterday, and you miss me again today?"

A hearty laugh came from the other end of the phone: "Haha, yes, Qingcheng, are you free now? Let's have dinner together tonight?"

"Sure, no problem! It just so happens I have some things I want to talk to you about too." Ye Qingcheng agreed.

"Then it's settled! Let's meet at Hang Lung Plaza; my treat. I'll send you the address in a bit!" Sister Hong said enthusiastically.

"Alright, see you tonight!" Ye Qingcheng responded with a smile.

After hanging up, the smile on her face disappeared instantly, leaving only a serious expression.

Shen Jianan asked with some concern: "Captain Ye... could it be that Sister Hong has discovered we are monitoring her?"

Ye Qingcheng also shook her head uncertainly, "I'm not sure... but we'll know once we go and see. We'll deal with it as it comes!"

...

At this moment, in the coffee shop on the fourth floor of Hang Lung Plaza, behind Sister Hong, a fashionably dressed woman, with her back to Sister Hong, was stirring her coffee with a stirrer, saying in a low voice: "Second Sister, long time no see. How have you been?"

Sister Hong had just hung up the call with Ye Qingcheng but still held the phone up, responding in a low voice: "Old Third, why aren't you staying properly with Chu Weimin? Why did you run to Magic City? Aren't you afraid that Godfather will punish you if he finds out?"

The woman was none other than the secretary sent by President Chu to Magic City—Zhang Min.

"Pfft, Second Sister, stop calling him Godfather so intimately. That's your godfather, not mine." Zhang Min raised her eyebrows and smiled, her face full of indifference.

After a pause, she explained: "As the saying goes, 'A general in the field is not bound by the orders of his sovereign!' When your godfather planted me by Chu Weimin's side, didn't he say to let me follow Chu Weimin and gain his trust? Now that Chu Weimin wants to send me to Magic City, could I refuse?"

Saying this, she took a sip of coffee, put down the cup, and continued, "What? Second Sister, don't tell me you thought I ran out secretly?"

Sister Hong didn't answer her question but asked back: "Is Chu Weimin preparing to fight back? Did he send you here to be the vanguard?"

Zhang Min shook her head: "Not exactly, but it should be soon. He sent me to Magic City this time because of his precious daughter. She won't live a good life in the US and insists on returning to the country to work. Chu Weimin was worried, so he sent me here to keep an eye on things and take over Hongtai Construction by the way."

After hearing this, Sister Hong was silent for a moment before slowly asking: "Then, what are you doing meeting me today?"

Zhang Min smiled feignedly: "Cough, I missed you, so I asked you out for coffee to catch up."

However, Sister Hong did not believe her rhetoric.

She said coldly: "Nonsense! Don't you know that Old Four, Chen Mo, had an accident?"

"I know, I saw the news, that's why I asked you out. The news says Old Four is dead? Is it true?" Zhang Min asked curiously.

"True or false, does it have anything to do with you?"

Zhang Min was choked by Sister Hong's words and shook her head helplessly, "Second Sister, you're not right to say that. We are all disciples of the same master, after all. If Old Four is dead, we should at least figure out what happened."

"Just mind your own business; you don't need to worry about other things!"

"Hmph," Zhang Min was a bit displeased by Sister Hong's attitude, snorted lightly, and guessed further, "If you won't say, then he's not dead yet. Second Sister, stop beating around the bush with me. Tell me, did Godfather ask you to take care of Chen Mo? Is the one named Qingcheng you just made an appointment with on the phone also for this matter?"

Sister Hong's face suddenly sank, a sharp chill revealing in her eyes.

A three-edged military dagger appeared in her hand out of nowhere, quickly pressing against Zhang Min's lower back.

Her voice was as cold as frost as she warned: "I'll say this one last time: it's best you shut up about things you shouldn't know. Otherwise, don't blame me for not remembering old feelings!"
