292: Chapter 292 Si Wenruo with Amnesia

Inside Villa No. 19 of Tangong, Si Yao lounged on the sofa with her flawless, fair legs crossed casually. She gently swirled a glass of deep red wine in her hand, her eyes filled with a hint of playfulness.

Beside her, Si Wenruo was in a sorry state, his hands and feet bound. His eyes were full of resentment as he glared at Si Yao. Forcing a bitter smile, he pleaded helplessly, "Little sister, can we stop messing around? Untie me, alright? I won't go to that damn cocktail party, okay?"

Si Yao glanced at him, a playful smile curling her lips. She wagged her index finger in front of his eyes and said in a drawn-out tone, "You, just stay put tonight. I won't untie you until my anger has subsided."

"Wait, my dear sister, at least let me 'die' knowing why. How exactly did I offend you?" Si Wenruo looked completely bewildered. His memory was still stuck in the booth at Sway Club last night. When he woke up, he was already bound and thrown into his sister's villa.

"Hmph~" Si Yao snorted coldly. Just as she was about to speak, her phone on the table rang at an inopportune moment, interrupting her.

Si Yao leaned over slightly, her gaze sweeping across the screen. It was Xing Zhenkun's name. She put down her wine glass and picked up the phone to answer without hesitation.

"Hello, Brother Kun, what's up?" When the call connected, Si Yao's voice was less formal and more casual.

"Yaoyao, this isn't very nice of you. We've known each other for so many years, yet you didn't think to include your old brother in that big project in the Southwest? You only told Young Master Qin?" On the other end of the phone, Xing Zhenkun teased her jokingly.

"Project?" Si Yao was stunned for a moment before quickly realizing. It seemed Brother Kun had also attended the cocktail party tonight and must have found out about her inviting Qin Yi to the Southwest. However, Qin Yi didn't seem to have told Xing Zhenkun the truth.

Having figured it out, a faint smile appeared on Si Yao's lips. She explained, "There's no big project. It's just some private matters I need Young Master Qin's help with, so I didn't mention it to you. If you're interested, Brother Kun, feel free to come along. The more the merrier."

"Really?" Xing Zhenkun's voice was filled with pleasant surprise.

"Of course. It's not like the plane can't fit another person. The scenery in the Southwest is quite nice; just think of it as a vacation."

"That's great! Then it's settled. When are you planning to leave?" Xing Zhenkun's tone was full of anticipation.

"Monday. I'll send you the specific time and location on WeChat later," Si Yao replied.

"Got it." After Xing Zhenkun finished speaking, Qin Yi reached out for the phone. Seeing this, Xing Zhenkun hurriedly added, "Yaoyao, Young Master Qin wants to talk to you."

"Mhm~" Si Yao responded softly.

Qin Yi took the phone and moved a bit away from the crowd before speaking. "I'm sorry, Young Miss Si Yao, but two more people want to come to the Southwest with me. I'm not sure if that's convenient for you?"

"Oh? Who else besides Brother Kun?" Si Yao asked curiously, a flash of doubt in her eyes.

"Young Master Ye and Shen Jianan."

Several images flashed through Si Yao's mind, and she suddenly remembered the police officer she had met at the Nightlife Bar. She raised an eyebrow and confirmed, "The female police officer from the Nightlife Bar that night?"

"That's right, it's her."

"That's fine then," Si Yao replied with a smile, a hint of joy flashing in her eyes. But then her tone shifted as she pressed, "However, you have to tell me what their purpose is for this trip. Don't tell me it's just for tourism; I won't believe it."

"Well, it's a long story. Shen Jianan is on a mission, but don't worry, it has nothing to do with your Si Family."

"Alright then. You can bring them along on Monday."

"Great, thanks. See you Monday then." With that, Qin Yi hung up the phone.

Although Si Wenruo only caught fragments of the conversation, it was enough to pique his curiosity. His eyes flickered with a mix of confusion and excitement as he asked, "Little sister, are you planning to go back to the Southwest?"

Si Yao looked at Si Wenruo, her expression returning to normal. She gave a soft "Mhm" before leaning back on the sofa again. Taking an elegant sip of red wine, she said slowly, "Yes. I've thought about it, and your suggestion that night actually makes some sense. Instead of being subjected to an arranged marriage, it's better to act first and report later—it's much more satisfying!"

"Haha, I knew my little sister was independent! How could I, your big brother, ever steer you wrong? Come on, tell me, what does my future brother-in-law do?" Si Wenruo asked, his face full of gossip and curiosity.

"Hmph, what does it matter to you what he does?" Si Yao snorted. She drained the rest of the wine in her glass and stood up, making a move to head upstairs.

Seeing this, Si Wenruo grew anxious. Forgetting all about the brother-in-law, he hurriedly pleaded, "Hey, hey, little sister, don't go~ Untie me first~"

Si Yao stopped and glanced at the wall clock, estimating that the cocktail party should indeed be almost over. She casually picked up a fruit knife from the fruit platter and walked over to Si Wenruo. With a flash of the blade, the hemp ropes binding his hands and feet snapped and fell to the floor. Then, with a cool flick of her hand, the fruit knife embedded itself firmly into an apple in one smooth, continuous motion. Without looking back, she headed straight up the stairs.

Si Wenruo stood up and rubbed his aching wrists. His gaze followed Si Yao's retreating back as he persisted, "Little sister, if I'm not mistaken, my future brother-in-law should have attended the cocktail party tonight as well, right?"

Si Yao stopped and turned around, her gaze cold. "If I hear the word 'brother-in-law' from your mouth again, don't blame me for being ruthless!"

Si Wenruo shrank his neck in fear, raising both hands in surrender. "Okay, okay, I won't say it anymore."

Seeing this, Si Yao added, "You're going back to the Southwest on Monday too! Buy your own ticket! Also, keep your mouth shut. If the Old Master finds out I'm lying to him, you know what the consequences will be!"

Si Wenruo immediately made an OK gesture and patted his chest in assurance. "Don't worry, little sister. Your big brother's lips are sealed. I promise I won't say a word!"

Si Yao turned and continued toward the bedroom. "There's a guest room downstairs; clean it up yourself," she said as she walked. Before she finished, the bedroom door slammed shut with a bang, leaving Si Wenruo alone downstairs.

Downstairs, Si Wenruo shook his fist and muttered in a low voice only he could hear, "Damn, what a tomboy..." Although he said that, his eyes held a hint of doting and helplessness.

...

Meanwhile, inside the Security Bureau's Underground Safe House in Magic City, a "ding" sounded, and the door swung open.
