54: Chapter 54 The Eldest Daughter of the Si Family in Southwest China

"Haha, I didn't disturb the Eldest Young Miss's rest, did I?" Xing Zhenkun's laughter came through the phone with a hint of playfulness, breaking the silence of the bedroom.

Inside the master bedroom of Villa No. 19 in Tang Palace, the premier villa district in the Magic City, the Si Family's Eldest Young Miss, Si Yao, was leaning lazily against the headboard, gently pulling the corner of the quilt to cover her graceful figure.

When speaking of Si Yao, one had to mention the Southwest Si Family.

The Southwest Si Family didn't originally have the surname Si. Located on the Southwest border, they were an Ancient Martial Arts Family with over three hundred years of Legacy. Their ancestors were generals of the Ming Dynasty who had once led troops to resist foreign invasions in those borderlands.

Later, for unknown reasons, the ancestors concealed their names and changed their surname to Si, living in seclusion for generations within the Hundred Thousand Mountains. It wasn't until the early days of the founding of the Huaxia Dragon Kingdom that the Si Family emerged once again.

The current head of the Si Family was Si Yao's grandfather—Si Zhengxiong.

Si Zhengxiong was a legendary figure who had rendered many services to the Huaxia Dragon Kingdom, boasting illustrious military achievements.

Reasonably, since the Si Family chose to emerge, they should have held a place in the military and political sectors based on the contributions made during the nation's founding.

Strangely, however, Si Zhengxiong refused to let the Si Family's descendants follow that path. Instead, he chose commerce, assuming the posture of one who merely sought to be a wealthy patriarch.

Although the Si Family went into business, some big figures in the upper echelons of the Huaxia Dragon Kingdom still gave the Si Family Face even today. After all, the older generation were comrades-in-arms who had carried blades and killed enemies together.

The descendants of the Si Family used these connections to thrive in the business world. The Si Family had many branches, and their Family industries covered various sectors of the Dragon Kingdom, ranging from catering services like the Sinan Feast to resource monopoly industries like energy.

If one were to add up all the hidden assets of the Southwest Si Family, it would not be an exaggeration to describe them as wealthy enough to rival a nation.

Returning to the Eldest Young Miss of the Si Family, at this moment, a woman with a beautiful Face was sleeping soundly beside her.

Si Yao gently rubbed her slightly furrowed forehead with one hand, seemingly trying to dispel the lingering effects of a hangover, while holding the phone to her ear with the other. Her voice carried a hint of morning hoarseness: "Brother Kun, you're joking. I did drink a bit much last night and only just woke up."

"Well, I'll keep it short then." Xing Zhenkun's tone turned serious, clearly indicating that what he was about to say was quite important. "Do you remember the Young Master Qin, Qin Yi, I mentioned to you last night?"

Si Yao's brows twitched slightly. After a moment of recollection, she responded indifferently, "Mm, I have an impression. The kid who splurged 3.7 billion on cars at your dealership? I remember you saying he agreed to join the Flying Dragon Club?" Her tone revealed a lack of concern, as if she didn't have much interest in this Young Master Qin.

"Haha, yes, that's him." Xing Zhenkun's laughter held a touch of pride, clearly having a deep impression of Qin Yi.

"Oh." Si Yao's tone remained indifferent. "Brother Kun is calling because you want us to meet him today?"

"Not exactly," Xing Zhenkun said mysteriously. "It's just that there's something I think the Eldest Young Miss would be interested in."

Si Yao's eyes lit up slightly, her curiosity piqued. "Oh? What is it? Does it also involve that Young Master Qin?"

"Exactly. I just found out myself. Last night, Young Master Qin ate at the Sinan Feast." Xing Zhenkun's words carried a playful tone, as if he were deliberately teasing Si Yao.

Si Yao's hand gently stroked the fair, exposed shoulder of the woman beside her. Feeling the smooth texture, a faint smile played on her lips as she said slowly, "Is that so? That's quite a coincidence. But surely Brother Kun wouldn't call specifically just to say he had a meal?"

"Haha, indeed." Xing Zhenkun's laughter came through the phone. "However, I heard from my employees that Young Master Qin ran into a classmate at the Sinan Feast last night, and the two had an argument. I heard even your Sinan Feast's security manager went over."

Hearing this, Si Yao's lazy posture gradually straightened, and a curious light flickered in her eyes. "Oh? Something like that happened? How was it handled? A-Fei didn't make a move, did he?"

Her tone revealed a tiny bit of concern. After all, Si Hongfei was a Martial Artist at the Mid-stage Dark Force, and his mastery of the Eight Extremities Fist was not to be underestimated. If he really fought, Young Master Qin would likely have ended up injured.

"No, he didn't," Xing Zhenkun said with a smile. "However, later on, Young Master Qin encountered six thugs at the Armani store in the International Finance Center. I heard Young Master Qin took on all six alone and beat them so badly they couldn't fight back. One of them is still lying in the hospital."

Hearing this, Si Yao involuntarily leaned forward. She had no interest in this Young Master Qin before, but hearing that he could take on six people at once, a flash of surprise and interest crossed her eyes. "One against six? This Young Master Qin knows martial arts? What Realm?"

Xing Zhenkun shook his head with a laugh. "I'm not sure about that. You know I don't know martial arts and don't understand these things, so I thought of the Eldest Young Miss."

A playful smile curled on Si Yao's lips. "Uh, what do you mean, Brother Kun?"

"Haha, it shouldn't be hard for me to use my connections at the police station to get a copy of the surveillance footage of Young Master Qin's fight last night." Xing Zhenkun's voice was full of pride and temptation. "I wonder if the Eldest Young Miss is interested in watching it together? Perhaps with your eyes, you can see through Young Master Qin's style and Realm."

A flash of excitement lit up Si Yao's eyes, and she smiled readily. "Fine! It's a deal! See you tonight at Yaoye Club!"

"Great, I'll go look for last night's surveillance footage right now!" Xing Zhenkun's voice carried a hint of urgency.

However, before Xing Zhenkun could hang up, another woman's voice came from Si Yao's side, lazy and charming: "Sister Yao, what time is it? Who are you talking to?"

Xing Zhenkun's eyebrows couldn't help but twitch. He thought to himself that it seemed the Eldest Young Miss had found another girl last night.

He wasn't interested in the private life of the Si Family's Eldest Young Miss, but he felt a bit helpless. Such a beauty dressed like a man all day and didn't like men; it was truly a waste of God's gifts...

Si Yao didn't care. She smiled lightly, a flash of cunning in her eyes.

She then hung up the phone and tossed it aside. Then, she slowly slid back under the covers, took the woman beside her into her arms, and said softly, "No one, just a friend. It's still early, let's sleep a bit longer..."

As she spoke, her hands began to wander over the woman's body. The woman in her arms groaned and struggled twice before ceasing her resistance.

...

Inside the Wanhao Car Dealership, Xing Zhenkun took a deep breath and dialed the number saved as 'Uncle Shen'. The phone rang four or five times before being picked up. A steady and magnetic middle-aged man's voice came through the receiver.

"Hello, A-Kun. Why did you think of calling this old man? Did you get into trouble again?" Uncle Shen's voice was teasing, yet it couldn't hide his concern.

Hearing this, a bitter smile appeared on Xing Zhenkun's lips. He lightly scratched his head, no longer looking like the big boss of a car dealership, but rather like a Junior feeling guilty in front of an elder. "Haha, Uncle Shen, you're joking. I'm a law-abiding good citizen, how could I get into trouble?"

"Stop being slick. Don't I know you? Tell me, what's the matter?" Uncle Shen's voice held a bit of doting and helplessness, clearly knowing Xing Zhenkun's temperament well.

Xing Zhenkun chuckled, a flash of cunning in his eyes that instantly turned back to sincerity. "Hehe, nothing gets past Uncle Shen. I really do have something I'd like to trouble you with."

"Mm, I knew it. No good news ever comes when you call. Speak!" His words were full of banter.

"Well, it's like this..."

Subsequently, Xing Zhenkun took a deep breath and, with a sheepish laugh, explained his request to the Uncle Shen on the phone.

Uncle Shen pondered for a moment before continuing, "The conflict happened at the International Finance Center?" His tone didn't reveal any change, remaining as calm as a light breeze.

"Yes, Uncle Shen," Xing Zhenkun responded quickly.

"In that case, the Shenjiang Bay Branch should have handled the call. Let me ask around. I'll call you back when I have news."

Hearing Uncle Shen agree to help, Xing Zhenkun was about to thank him when he heard Uncle Shen say in a serious tone, "A-Kun, tell me the truth. You didn't instigate this conflict, did you?"

Seeing that he was misunderstood, Xing Zhenkun hurried to explain, "Uncle, I swear to heaven, I just found out myself. The one harassed by the thugs is a major client of my dealership. I heard from my employees that the client is quite skilled and took on six people alone. I just got curious and wanted to see the surveillance footage from last night to understand the situation."

"Fine then. In that case, wait for my call," Uncle Shen responded briefly and then hung up.

...

At this time, in the office of the Director of the Modu Public Security Bureau, Shen Zhendong held his phone with a slight frown, considering who he should call to inquire about this matter.

After hesitating for a moment, his fingers tapped lightly on the desk, and he finally decided to call his precious daughter, Shen Jianan.

The call connected, and his daughter's familiar and slightly playful voice came through: "Hello, Director Shen, what are your instructions?"

Shen Zhendong's lips curled up unconsciously as he scolded with a smile, "You brat, is that how you talk to your own father?" His words revealed a trace of helplessness.

"Hehe, didn't you say so? We have to use official titles during work..." Shen Jianan responded with a mischievous laugh on the other end. Shen Zhendong could almost see her blinking her eyes playfully.

Shen Zhendong shook his head and smiled. "Fine, fine, I give up. I have something to ask you. Did a fight break out at the International Finance Center last night?"

"Uh... Dad, you even know about this? Does a small matter like a fight really need the attention of the Municipal Bureau Director?" Shen Jianan asked with feigned surprise, her tone carrying a hint of cunning.

"Don't change the subject. I'm asking you, who was responsible for this case?" Shen Zhendong's tone became serious.

"What's wrong? Did someone ask you for a favor?" Shen Jianan keenly sensed something, and her tone became serious as well.

"Not exactly, but an acquaintance wants to see the surveillance footage of the conflict that night," Shen Zhendong explained.

"Uh, then you've asked the right person. I was the one who responded to that call," Shen Jianan said proudly.

"Oh? Really? That's quite a coincidence. Then copy the surveillance footage and send it to me right now." Shen Zhendong's tone carried a hint of urgency and relief.

"That won't do. The case isn't closed yet. This is evidence. How can it be shown to others at will..." Shen Jianan's tone suddenly became firm.

"Hey, you brat, playing this game with me? What, as the Municipal Bureau Director, I don't even have the right to request surveillance footage?" Shen Zhendong said with feigned anger, though his tone revealed a hint of doting and approval.

"You certainly have that right. However, you must promise me that before the case is closed, this footage cannot be leaked. Also, I'm responsible for this case, so you can't let someone's favor make me act unfairly!" Shen Jianan's tone carried a sense of seriousness and persistence.

Shen Zhendong smiled helplessly and said, "Alright, don't worry! Your old man isn't that kind of person!"

"Good, then wait. I'll go copy the surveillance footage." After Shen Jianan finished speaking, she hung up the phone.
