101: Chapter 101 Incompetent…

Elizabeth didn't move.

She set down her wine glass, leaned back against the sofa, and looked at him. In those gray-blue eyes, there was no surprise, no fear, only a kind of... exhaustion.

It was like someone facing the same question, having answered it many times, and not wanting to answer it again.

"Donovan," Elizabeth's voice was very soft, "get out."

Donovan did not leave.

Instead, he walked in, his footsteps heavy.

He walked up to Sean, looked down at him, and asked coldly, "Are you Sean?"

Sean certainly wasn't intimidated by this guy.

In his impression, he should be one of Elizabeth's lovers. In any case, he definitely couldn't beat Elizabeth in terms of ability, so Sean retorted, "Who are you?"

"Heh."

Donovan laughed.

That smile was even uglier, his mouth pulled back to reveal a row of white teeth, like a beast.

"You don't know who I am?" He glanced at Elizabeth, then looked back at Sean, "She never mentioned me to you?"

Sean didn't speak.

Donovan took a step forward, getting closer to Sean.

Close enough for Sean to smell the scent on him... it was alcohol, whiskey, the strong kind, mixed with a hint of the smell of blood.

"I was slept with by her, and then dumped by her. She killed me, and then turned me into this." Donovan's voice was trembling, "She is my everything, and I am one of her... many."

Elizabeth stood up impatiently, "Donovan, I said, get out."

Donovan ignored her.

He stared at Sean, his eyes full of jealousy.

He reached out, grabbed Sean's collar, and dragged him up from the sofa.

Sean grabbed his hand in return, prying Donovan's hand off himself.

Donovan said viciously, "What right do you have? What right do you have to sit on her sofa, drink her wine, and look at her garden?"

"I waited for so many years, and she wouldn't even look at me. You've only met her a few times, and she brought you home?"

"Donovan."

Elizabeth's voice came from behind, this time not a command, but a sigh, "Get away from him."

Donovan didn't move.

He stared at Sean, viciously saying, "Stay away from her, she isn't someone you can touch."

Sean really wanted to say that he didn't want to touch this Vampire, but obviously saying that now wasn't very appropriate.

So he just nodded.

Seeing this, Donovan finally stepped back, turned around, and looked at Elizabeth.

Elizabeth stood by the sofa, holding that glass of wine and watching him, as if she were watching a joke.

Donovan felt a bit intimidated when he saw Elizabeth like this, but he said, "You're still the same, you're the same to everyone!"

After saying this, he turned and walked towards the door.

When he reached the door, he stopped and said without looking back, "Sean, be careful. She's only being nice to you for the moment, and in the end, she'll throw you away!"

He pushed the door open and walked out.

The door closed behind him with a dull thud.

The room quieted down.

Sean stood where he was, adjusting his collar.

Elizabeth sat back on the sofa, picked up her wine glass, and took a sip.

Her expression was still as calm as ever, as if nothing had happened.

Regarding this, Sean, who knew the plot, couldn't help but comment, "He was right."

Elizabeth didn't expect this reaction from Sean, so she raised an eyebrow and asked, "What?"

Sean affirmed, "You are the same to everyone."

Elizabeth seemed very satisfied with this comment.

She even smiled, "Perhaps."

As she spoke, she suddenly became a bit more serious, "But he got one thing wrong: I am completely different when it comes to you."

Classic player talk!

Sean let those words go in one ear and out the other.

He sat back on the sofa, picked up the half-spilled glass of wine, took a sip, and brought up the real business.

"What exactly is that demon?"

Elizabeth slowly ran her finger around the rim of the glass before asking in return, "You swallowed it, and you don't know what it is?"

Sean replied straightforwardly, "I know it's a demon, but what kind? Where did it come from? Why was it able to live inside Ratchet for eighty years?"

Sean really wanted to figure out the situation with the demon.

Compared to spirits and Vampires, the demon was the most mysterious thing to him right now.

Besides, he had let a low-level demon go before, and Elizabeth kept saying that thing was just a scout, which made Sean secretly worried about what to do when the higher-level stuff came later.

Unfortunately, Elizabeth seemed to be teasing him a bit right now.

She didn't answer Sean's question, but instead asked, "Sean, have you already taken the witches to find the witches' treasure?"

Sean had long expected that this question would be unavoidable, so he quickly replied, "No."

"No?"

"No. Cordelia just became the Supreme Witch, and many things haven't been sorted out yet. The matter of the treasure has been put on hold for now."

Elizabeth looked at him for a long time.

Sean didn't look away. He looked at her, his expression unchanged.

He knew she was judging whether he was lying.

She had lived for hundreds of years and had seen countless people lie. Lying in front of her was difficult.

But he had the [Bullshit] skill, and besides, he really couldn't tell the truth about this, so he gritted his teeth and held his ground.

Elizabeth looked away.

She walked back to the sofa, sat down again, and said, "You'd better not lie to me."

Before Sean could speak, Elizabeth finally started talking about the real business again, "That demon is not an ordinary demon. It is very old, older than me."

"It possessed Ratchet, not to consume her soul, but to buy time."

"It was seeking a ritual to summon something older and stronger than itself."

"That is also why it had to seal the bodies inside the walls; that was part of the ritual as well."

Crap!

Something that could make a demon go to such lengths to summon must not be simple.

The key was that he had absorbed this demon, and it was hard to say whether he wouldn't be discovered.

Elizabeth patiently watched the changes in Sean's expression.

Like someone watching prey enter a net, waiting for it to struggle, waiting for it to tire, and then walking over.

But she saw this Vampire, The Countess, smiling and saying, "You're afraid."

Sean didn't deny it, "A little."

Elizabeth stood up, walked in front of him, and looked down at him.

She reached out and gently lifted his chin, just like last time in the church.

"Sean, I can help you." Her voice was very soft, as if coaxing a child, "You know I can."

Sean looked at her, "How?"

Elizabeth let go, sat down opposite him, and crossed her legs, "Let me turn you. The power of a Vampire can allow your severed limbs to regenerate, and you won't die even if your heart is pierced."

"With this, you won't have to be afraid of that thing anymore."

Hmm...

It sounds pretty powerful...
