80: Chapter 80 The Critical Moment

Seeing the Supreme Witch in a bad situation, Cordelia rushed forward and blocked in front of Fiona.

She exclaimed: "Marie Laveau, we can talk about the treasure!"

"Talk?" Marie Laveau looked at her and smiled, "What do you have to talk to me with? Your mother's power is already gone. Your power hasn't grown yet, you witches..."

Her gaze swept across Cordelia, swept across Madison, and finally landed on Shaun Black, continuing with a laugh: "...are already finished."

Shaun Black stood at the very back, looking into those black eyes.

Marie Laveau's gaze landed on him, pausing for a second.

Cordelia said coldly: "Marie Laveau, what do you want to do?"

Marie Laveau did not look at her.

Her gaze crossed over Cordelia and landed on Fiona, laughing: "Fiona, oh Fiona, my poor Fiona, have you not figured it out yet?"

Fiona looked at her, frowning: "Figured out what?"

Marie Laveau smiled: "The treasure, your treasure, the thing you have been searching for for so many years."

She took a step forward: "Who do you think leaked the news?"

!!!

As soon as these words were spoken, Shaun Black seemed to understand everything instantly.

Madison was also a smart person; standing next to him, her body tensed up.

Marie Laveau took another step forward: "Where did those people hear the news about the treasure?"

"Who told them that there was a witch's treasure in the swamp, and that it would even make you... the Supreme Witch, immortal?"

Fiona's face changed.

Not white, but gray.

"It was me," Marie Laveau said, her voice very soft, but every word was like a needle, "I leaked the news, I drew the map, and I carved that symbol."

"The thing you have been chasing for so long was fake from the very beginning."

The air froze.

Cordelia stood in place, motionless.

Madison opened her mouth, but no words came out.

Shaun Black looked at Marie Laveau, who had a look of triumph on her face.

"Why would you do this?" Cordelia was trembling.

Marie Laveau looked at her: "Because your mother, the Supreme Witch, never took me seriously."

"She thinks she is the Supreme Witch, that she is superior to others."

Her gaze turned to Fiona: "How much longer do you think you can live? Your power is fading, you know that better than anyone."

"But you don't want to die, so you are desperately searching for that non-existent treasure, wasting your own power, wasting your own time, wasting your own life."

Marie Laveau laughed: "Do you know why you have become so weak? It's not because you are old, it's because you spent too much effort looking for the treasure."

"You could have lived well and held on for a few more decades. But you insisted on finding that thing, insisted on being immortal, insisted on breaking the destiny of the Supreme Witch."

She took a step forward and stood in front of Fiona.

The two stood face to face, less than a meter apart.

"Now," Marie Laveau said, "you are at the end of your rope."

Fiona looked at her: "How long have you been waiting for this day?"

Marie Laveau thought for a moment: "Too long, so long that I can't even remember anymore."

"Is it worth it?"

"It is worth it. Watching the Supreme Witch fall before me, it is so worth it!"

She raised her hand.

Those hands were very old, the skin wrinkled like tree bark, but the fingers were long, and the nails were painted dark red.

She placed her hand on Fiona's shoulder and gave a gentle push.

Fiona lost her balance.

She took a step back, her legs went weak, and she collapsed.

Cordelia rushed up to support her, and both of them knelt on the ground.

Madison ran over, crouched on the other side of Fiona, and reached out to support her arm.

Fiona leaned on Cordelia's shoulder, her face as pale as paper, her lips trembling.

Marie Laveau looked down at her: "Fiona Goode, your era has ended."

She turned around and looked at Cordelia and Madison.

In those black eyes, there was only a calm, cruel determination: "Witches, your era should end too!"

She raised her hand.

Those hands were very old, the skin wrinkled like tree bark, but the fingers were long.

She drew a symbol in the air, one that Shaun Black had never seen; it was not a witch's symbol, but something older, borrowed from the God of Death.

The mist churned.

From the depths of the swamp, a woman walked out.

She wore a dark red long dress, a black headscarf wrapped around her head, and a necklace of teeth hanging around her neck. Her face was young, but her eyes were old.

Another one walked out from the left, wearing a dark blue dress, holding a bone in her hand.

Another one walked out from the right, bald, with white stripes painted on her face.

Three, four, five.

The Voodoo witches walked out of the mist and stood behind Marie Laveau.

They looked at Cordelia, looked at Madison, looked at Shaun Black, their gazes as calm as the dead.

Madison took a step forward, blocking in front of Cordelia and Fiona: "You dare."

Marie Laveau looked at her: "Little girl, your Supreme Witch has already fallen, what do you have to stop me with?"

Madison did not speak.

She raised her hand, telekinesis surging from her body like an invisible wall, pushing toward those five women.

Marie Laveau did not move.

The two witches behind her raised their hands simultaneously, two streams of black power bursting from their palms, colliding with Madison's telekinesis.

The air exploded with a dull thud, and Madison flew backward, hitting the ground and rolling twice.

She propped herself up to climb to her feet, blood at the corner of her mouth.

"Madison!" Cordelia rushed over to support her.

Madison shook off her hand: "I'm fine."

She stood up, her legs trembling, but her back was straight. She looked at Marie Laveau and raised her hand again.

Marie Laveau looked at her and shook her head: "Overestimating yourself."

The two witches raised their hands again.

This time, the black power was fiercer, like two venomous snakes, wrapping around Madison's wrists, lifting her whole body up, and slamming her to the ground.

Madison let out a muffled groan and didn't get up.

Her fingers were trembling, still trying to channel her telekinesis, but those black things were wrapped around her like chains, and she couldn't move.

Cordelia stood up, blocking in front of Madison.

She took something out of a small cloth bag, a small silver badge, the emblem of the Coven.

She held it in her hand and closed her eyes.

Silver light shone from her body, very weak, like a lamp about to go out...

But she was holding on.

Marie Laveau looked at her: "Cordelia Foxx, your heart is too soft. You will never become a witch like your mother."

She raised her hand and gave a light wave.

Cordelia's silver light shattered.

She fell backward all the way, landing next to Fiona, the badge in her hand rolling away and falling into the mud.

Her face was deathly pale, her lips moving, but she couldn't make a sound...

Madison lay on the ground, struggling to stand up, her legs propping her up halfway before she knelt down again.

Her telekinesis was sealed by those black chains, and she couldn't use any of it.

She raised her head and looked at Shaun Black, a trace of panic in those blue eyes.

It wasn't fear of death, but fear that if they all died, no one would be able to stop Marie Laveau.

Then Shaun Black would...
