51: Chapter 51 Sean, do you have a dog?!

Shaun did indeed possess supernatural power, but... he himself didn't know how much he had mastered.

Besides...

He hadn't expected that Ballard would really want him to take action.

Shaun looked at Ballard; her eyes were very serious.

She said: "It's not for you to deal with all of them alone. You make the move, and I'll provide support from the side. You catch them off guard, while I'm responsible for covering you and bringing Frank out."

"Shaun, this is the only solution I can think of."

Shaun was silent for a few seconds, then asked: "Have you thought this through?"

Ballard nodded: "I have."

Shaun took a deep breath: "Fine."

Ballard's expression relaxed slightly, but she didn't smile.

It seemed... Shaun's agreement was completely within her expectations.

She only said: "Get ready, ten o'clock tonight."

Shaun could feel it; Ballard was exceptionally serious today, and he didn't know if she had found out about what happened between him and Fiona...

...

After Ballard left, Shaun stood in the hall, staring at the clock on the wall.

Ten o'clock.

Still more than ten hours left.

Just him, plus Ballard, plus those powers he wasn't sure if he could fully trust... was it enough?

He really couldn't be careless about this.

So, Shaun took out his phone and pulled up a number.

Madison.

The phone rang twice before it was answered.

"Shaun?" Madison's voice came through the receiver, carrying a hint of surprise, "Why are you calling me at this hour? Did you miss me?"

Shaun didn't engage with her teasing, just continued: "Madison, I need your help."

There was a second of silence on the other end of the line.

Then Madison's tone changed, no longer so cavalier.

"What is it?"

"Saving someone," Shaun said, "Frank has been kidnapped by the Colombians. They have an ambush set for ten o'clock tonight."

Madison didn't ask why he wanted to deal with this old man.

Nor did she ask why it was tonight.

She just asked one thing: "What time do I arrive?"

Shaun was stunned for a moment: "You can come over now?"

Madison on the other end didn't hesitate at all, saying: "Duh. You asked, how could I not come?"

Shaun was quite touched: "Thank you."

"Don't thank me too early," Madison said, "Send me the address, twenty minutes."

The call ended, and Shaun sent the address of Hill Manor over.

...

Twenty minutes later.

A bright red sports car rushed into the driveway of Hill Manor and drifted to a stop at the entrance.

Madison jumped out of the car.

She was wearing a black bodysuit today—not the kind for night operations, just a regular black T-shirt and black jeans, but tight enough to outline the lines of her whole body.

Her hair was tied in a high ponytail, and there was no makeup on her face, but those blue eyes were startlingly bright.

She swept a glance over Hill Manor: "Didn't expect this manor to belong to you now?"

Shaun smiled, standing under the porch, watching her walk over.

Madison got closer, then she stopped, her brows knitting together completely.

Shaun noticed the change: "What's wrong?"

Madison didn't speak, just stared intently at Shaun.

From top to bottom, from bottom to top.

Her gaze, like a scanner, went over his whole person.

Then she spoke, making Shaun break into a cold sweat: "Shaun, you smell like a woman."

Shaun really hadn't expected the witch's senses to be so sharp; in fact, he had thought he had washed himself very thoroughly.

Just as he was wondering if Madison would explode, he saw Madison take a step forward, lean in close, and sniff his shoulder.

Then she stepped back and said coldly: "One is that cold-faced policewoman's; she has the smell of disinfectant on her, which rubbed off on your clothes."

Phew...

So that's what she meant!

Shaun opened his mouth, about to explain, but Madison didn't let him speak.

"The other one... the other one I don't recognize. It's not Ballard, not Nell, not anyone I've met."

Madison stared into Shaun's eyes and issued a soul-searching interrogation: "Shaun, how many women are living in your house?"

Looking into Madison's eyes, Shaun didn't dare lie and answered honestly: "Two. Ballard, and... Frank's daughter, Fiona."

Madison's expression shifted: "Frank's daughter?"

"Yes."

"Living here with you?"

"Yes."

Madison didn't speak anymore...

After a long while, just when Shaun was feeling a bit apprehensive, he heard Madison say: "Fine."

Shaun was a bit surprised: "You're not angry?"

Madison shrugged. "Is being angry useful? You haven't married me yet anyway."

Saying that, Madison said coolly: "Let's go, let's go inside to talk. Where is that old man?"

Immediately, she pushed the door open and went in herself.

Shaun stood there, stunned for two seconds, then followed her.

In his mind, the golden book flipped to a page.

【Madison Montgomery Favorability: 100 / 100】

【Note】

She smelled it, she guessed it.

But she didn't say it.

Why?

You guess.

...

Shaun realized that his cheat... sometimes it was a damn riddle-maker too...

Shaun ignored this riddle-style writing, closed the book, and walked into the house.

The atmosphere in the hall was a bit subtle.

Madison was sitting on the sofa, legs crossed, her gaze shifting from Shaun to the stairs, then back again.

Fiona walked down the stairs.

She had changed into new clothes, a simple white T-shirt, jeans, and her hair tied up casually.

But the way she walked, the posture of a woman who had carried a household since she was young, made the air in the entire hall freeze for an instant.

She saw Madison.

Madison saw her.

The two women's gazes met in the air.

Shaun stood at the doorway, feeling like he was caught in the middle of something.

Then Ballard walked out of the kitchen.

She was holding a cup of coffee, obviously just brewed. Seeing the situation in the hall, her footsteps paused for a moment.

All three women looked at Shaun in an instant.

Shaun took a deep breath.

He walked into the hall and sat down in the single chair opposite the sofa.

Pretending to be calm, he said: "Everyone sit."

No one moved.

Shaun looked up, watching them.

After a long while, Ballard moved first.

She sat down on the other end of the sofa, separated from Madison by one seat.

Fiona walked over and sat down opposite Madison.

Madison glanced at her, but didn't speak.

Fiona didn't speak either.

Three women, three directions, but all their gazes landed on Shaun.

Shaun said, his expression unchanged: "Regarding tonight's matter, let me explain the arrangements."

Ballard held her coffee, watching him.

Madison sat with her legs crossed, watching him.

Fiona sat with her hands on her knees, watching him.

Shaun acted as if he didn't see it and continued: "The location is the Colombians' underground casino. They set the time for ten o'clock tonight, saying they would hand over the person. In reality, it's an ambush."

Shaun finally looked at the three women: "Madison and I will take action."

"Ballard will provide cover."

"Fiona... you wait for news."

Fiona was stunned for a moment.

"I wait for news?"

Shaun affirmed: "Yes, stay at the manor and wait for us to return!"
