107: Chapter 107 Officially Joining the Company

"Officer Blake, take a look at the mission briefing."

"That school is in Vermont, a private boarding school. You will enter as a teacher; your public identity will be a literature teacher."

"Your mission is to get close to a student named Wednesday Addams and protect her safety."

After he accepted his sidearm and badge, Maggie Bell began introducing the mission to Sean.

Sean nodded. "I know."

Maggie was momentarily stunned.

An agent knowing the mission before joining the FBI was clearly not in accordance with the rules!

She frowned again. "You know? How do you know?"

Sean didn't sell out Murray, so he remained silent.

Maggie waited for two seconds, and when no answer came, her brow furrowed even tighter.

She glanced at Omar, who shrugged slightly, meaning, "Don't look at me, I don't know either."

"Officer Blake," Maggie's voice dropped a bit, "I've seen your file. Three months at the New Orleans Police Department, no federal law enforcement experience, and you haven't passed any FBI evaluations. Do you know how you got in here?"

Nonsense!

How could he not know!

Sean thought to himself, but he also sensed where this woman's malice was coming from.

She... thought he had come in through the back door!

However, Sean didn't care what others thought and simply shook his head. "I don't know."

Maggie set the documents down, folded her hands on the desk, and stared at Sean.

"Someone higher up personally reached out; the notice came directly from the Office of the Deputy Attorney General." She paused. "Do you know what that means? It means you didn't need a background check, didn't need a physical test, and didn't need to go to Quantico for training."

"You skipped every procedure and got your badge and gun."

Sean said nothing.

Maggie leaned back in her chair and crossed her arms, a new look appearing in her eyes.

It wasn't hostility; it was displeasure.

She had worked in this system for nearly ten years and had seen people get in through connections, but she had never seen connections this powerful.

So powerful that he didn't even need to go through the motions.

Omar, sitting beside her, had prepared for two years to get into the FBI, taking the physical test three times and undergoing twenty-one weeks of hellish training.

She was the same; from internship to formal induction, every step had been difficult.

And this person before them had done nothing, yet here he was sitting across from them!

Omar spoke up, his voice a bit gentler than Maggie's. "Officer Blake, we're not targeting you, but you have to understand that this badge isn't just handed out to anyone."

"We want to know what skills you have that allowed the higher-ups to slot you in directly."

Sean looked at him. "What do you want me to prove?"

Omar thought for a moment. "Prove you're not a rookie."

Sean didn't say a word.

He stood up and looked at Maggie and Omar. Suddenly, he took a step back, his body sinking slightly with his weight on the balls of his feet... This was a standard combat-ready stance, not the kind meant for photos, but the kind forged through real combat.

Maggie's eyebrow twitched.

Omar leaned against the back of his chair, arms crossed, his eyes narrowing.

Sean didn't give them time to react.

He suddenly stepped forward, faking a right punch while sweeping his left elbow across, stopping just ten centimeters from Maggie's face.

The movement was fast and clean, with no wasted energy and no uncontrollable momentum.

Maggie didn't dodge, nor did she even blink. But her right hand had already touched the holster at her waist.

Omar's body also leaned forward slightly, like a leopard being startled awake.

Sean withdrew his hand, stood up straight, and looked at them.

Maggie stared into Sean's eyes, removed her hand from the holster, leaned back, and crossed her arms. "You've trained?"

Sean actually hadn't.

However, he certainly couldn't say that now.

So he said, "I have."

"Trained with whom?"

"Real combat."

Sean was purely talking nonsense.

Although he indeed had real combat experience, he mostly used "magic attacks."

Maggie didn't ask further.

Omar smiled from the side—not a mocking smile, but one of recognition.

"Officer Blake, if that elbow strike had connected, Agent Bell would be on the floor right now."

He paused, seemingly feeling it wasn't right to talk about his partner like that, and added, "Though her gun would have reached you first."

Omar was wrong about that.

If Sean used telekinesis, Maggie wouldn't have even had a chance to move.

However, there was no need to go too far with the face-slapping right now, so Sean nodded. "I know."

Maggie's expression wasn't as stern, but she still didn't speak.

Omar cleared his throat. "So, have you ever been a teacher?"

"No."

"Ever taught a class?"

"No."

Omar laughed. "Then when you get to that school, how do you plan to teach?"

Sean thought for a moment. "By the book."

Omar burst out laughing.

Maggie glared at him; he stifled his laughter, but the corners of his mouth remained upturned.

Maggie turned her head and looked at Sean. "Officer Blake, your induction paperwork is finished. From today on, you are FBI. Keep your badge and gun safe; don't lose them."

"Omar will send you the specific details about that school. Take a look over the next couple of days to familiarize yourself with the situation."

Alright!

Everything that needed to be said was done. Just as Sean was about to nod, the golden book suddenly popped up in his mind again.

Then, writing began to emerge...

[New characters unlocked: Maggie Bell, Omar Adom Zidan]

On the pages of the book, two portraits slowly surfaced.

The one on the left had brown hair tied in a ponytail, delicate features, sharp eyes, and no smile on her lips—it was Maggie Bell.

The one on the right was burly, with a serious expression but a hint of warmth in his eyes—Omar Adom Zidan.

The two portraits were side-by-side, like people who had been partners for a long time.
