25: Chapter 25 Madison Unleashes His Power

Inside Hill Manor, the beam of the flashlight wavered in the darkness, illuminating the steps one by one.

The stairs were very old, letting out a slight creak with every step.

They reached the second-floor landing.

Still nothing.

But Shaun could feel it... that sensation of "someone is watching you" was growing stronger and stronger.

Taiwan Novel Network is super awesome, twkan.com is amazing.

Cordelia stopped and looked deep into the corridor.

"This house is no ordinary haunted house."

Madison asked, "Then what is it?"

Cordelia was silent for a few seconds before saying, "It's alive."

The night wind blew through the corridor, carrying a chilly aura.

Shaun gripped the flashlight tightly.

Behind him, Nell's breathing became increasingly rapid.

And in the darkness, it felt as if something was watching them...

Just as Shaun was feeling his skin crawl, the darkness at the end of the corridor suddenly surged.

Not as a metaphor, it was truly surging...

Like something churning beneath the surface of water, churning the darkness into a twisted vortex.

Shaun's flashlight beam swept over, illuminating...

A face.

A pale face, floating in the center of the darkness, less than five meters away from them.

Then a second, a third, a fourth...

They seeped out of the walls, hung down from the ceiling, and crawled up from the cracks in the floor.

Faces of the elderly, children, men, women... each one was contorted, with hollow eye sockets staring at them.

"Fuck!!!"

Madison couldn't help but curse.

The potato chips in Queenie's hand dropped to the floor.

Nell let out a stifled scream, shrinking back.

Cordelia stepped forward, shielding Nell.

But the ghosts didn't stop.

They drifted over; they weren't fast, but the sense of pressure made it almost impossible to breathe.

The surrounding temperature was dropping sharply; Shaun could see his own breath.

Cordelia hurriedly called out, "Get back."

Her voice was calm, but Shaun could hear the tension within it.

Unexpectedly, Madison stepped up at the critical moment, taking a step forward: "Let me."

She raised her hand.

In that instant, Shaun felt something condensing in the air, as if an invisible force was being mobilized.

Then Madison's hand thrust forward abruptly.

"Get out!"

Boom...

An invisible shockwave erupted from her palm, and the air in the entire corridor seemed to be compressed.

The drifting ghosts were hit as if by a giant hammer, flying backward with miserable shrieks...

Some slammed into the walls and passed right through.

Some were flung to the end of the corridor, vanishing into the darkness.

Some were torn apart by that force, turning into a wisp of blue smoke.

In an instant, the corridor was cleared.

Shaun stood there dazed.

He knew Madison was strong.

He knew she could use Telekinesis, pin people to walls, and strangle them invisibly.

But he didn't know she could do it to this extent.

Madison withdrew her hand and shook her wrist with a look of disgust.

"What a mess, so filthy." She looked at her hand, "I need to wash this ten times."

Queenie muttered from behind, "Badass..."

Cordelia didn't speak, but there was a hint of pride in the way she looked at Madison.

Then, a voice came from deep within the corridor.

"Interesting."

The voice was very light, but everyone heard it clearly.

Like someone whispering in their ear, yet also like it was drifting from a great distance.

Shaun's flashlight shone toward it.

At the end of the corridor, the darkness surged again.

But this time, what condensed wasn't those flickering ghosts.

It was a woman.

Wearing a dark gown, her hair swept up high, her features so exquisite they didn't seem real.

Standing there with her hands folded in front of her, her posture as elegant as if she were attending a dinner party.

But her eyes...

With one look, Shaun realized there was nothing in those eyes.

Not emptiness, but an abyss.

Cordelia's expression changed as she exclaimed, "Bobby Hill!"

The woman smiled slightly and said, "You know me? That's good, saves me the trouble of introducing myself."

Hearing this, Shaun knew the big boss had arrived!

...

Bobby Hill was a member who married into the Hill Family; her husband was William Hill.

Her meeting with her husband was quite unusual...

Both were patients in a mental asylum, where they met and wed.

After marriage, they had a son and a daughter, but the children's ends were tragic: the daughter suffocated, and the son died from self-harm by slamming his head against a wall.

Bobby herself lived for a long time, being the last of the core Hill Family members to pass away.

She was the most aggressively hostile and manipulative ghost in Hill Manor. Unlike most ghosts who merely wandered or frightened people, Bobby's goal was to actively lure the living into staying in the manor—willingly or unwillingly—to become new ghosts!

So, she was the big boss of Hill Manor!

Now, Bobby took a step forward.

It was just one step, but Shaun felt the entire house tremble.

Madison raised her hand and pushed with another wave of telekinetic force...

Bobby Hill didn't even budge.

That force, enough to blow away a dozen ghosts, was like a light breeze before her, only fluttering a single strand of her hair.

She looked down at that strand of hair and sighed softly, "Little witch, your power is strong, but this is my home."

Then she looked up at Madison and let out a piercing shriek: "In here, I'm the one in charge."

Madison's expression changed.

She raised her hand again, but this time nothing happened.

Her hand froze mid-air, her expression shifting from anger to confusion, and then from confusion to terror.

"I..."

She had only uttered one word before even her voice got stuck.

Cordelia stepped forward, shielding Madison.

Bobby Hill looked at her.

"Cordelia Foxx, I know you. Daughter of the Supreme Witch, the future Supreme. Your mother lived for three hundred years, but you... you haven't grown up yet."

As she spoke, Bobby smiled, a smile that sent chills down one's spine.

"You are no match for me right now!"

Cordelia did not back down.

"Perhaps... but I didn't come alone!"

Cordelia's words made Shaun's heart skip a beat.

Let's just say, we brought a lot of people, but... only two of them are actually useful.

Bobby Hill's gaze swept over them... Queenie, Madison, Shaun.

Finally, when her gaze landed on the person at the very back, Bobby Hill's eyes lit up.

That kind of brightness was as if she had finally found a long-lost treasure.

Nell!

Bobby called out softly, "Nell."

That single call made Nell freeze completely.

Bobby Hill took another step forward and commanded, "Come here!"

That voice was no longer ordinary speech.

It was trembling, resonating, and echoing!

As if it were drilling directly into the brain.

Shaun felt a wave of dizziness.

Then he saw Nell's gaze change.

Those eyes, which had been filled with terror, suddenly became hollow.

She pushed aside Queenie, who was blocking her way, and took a direct step forward!
