159: Flashbang

A Meng shook his head: "One-Eyed Dragon's men haven't seen me. The North Market transactions are handled by Big Boss and Brother Dao. I only manage the General Store."

Jiang Fei whispered something.

After listening, A Meng climbed out the window to prepare.

At this moment, upstairs in the restaurant.

The main hall had four large round tables, with twelve people seated at each.

The tables were filled with various stir-fried dishes, and each person held a glass of wine.

At the very front of the round tables, there was also a small square table where One-Eyed Dragon and several of his confidants sat.

The brothers excitedly discussed the night's haul.

"Those two trucks didn't look big, but I didn't expect them to be loaded with over a dozen barrels of live fish and crabs, and Chinese medicinal herbs. Thanks to Big Brother, we're eating fish tonight."

"I heard that Crippled Wang's supplier is the owner of Ping An Supermarket, Jiang Fei. She's a member of the Rescue Team and also knows the Patrol Team."

"Will Jiang Fei retaliate against us because of Crippled Wang's incident?"

"The North Market deals in illegal business, with high prices and goods that don't match. What if Jiang Fei brings a team to cause trouble? Can we escape?"

One-Eyed Dragon, wearing an eye patch, sneered: "What's there to be afraid of? Whether it's the Rescue Team or the Patrol Team, they can't touch the North Market!"

"I have backing!"

With Big Brother's words, the brothers relaxed again, drinking and chatting.

No one paid attention to the woman and the younger brother who came up to deliver wine and dishes.

A Meng had changed into a similar old man's shirt and shorts, holding a wine jar, and calmly refilled the empty glasses on the tables.

The woman was still in a state of fear, but because she was afraid A Meng would kill her, she tried her best to serve the dishes naturally, not daring to show any abnormality.

Each table received two large plates of stir-fried green mushrooms.

One-Eyed Dragon's subordinate: "Didn't I tell your kitchen to make spicy stir-fried river crabs? Why did it turn into mushrooms?"

The woman replied with the words Jiang Fei had taught her: "River crabs are difficult to prepare and will take a while longer. So we stir-fried the mushrooms first. These are delicious and best served with wine."

The other party didn't suspect anything, picked up a piece of stir-fried green mushroom. It was tender and smooth in the mouth, with a fresh aroma, and he immediately recommended it to his brother next to him.

"This dish is good, you should try it."

After clearing the empty plates from the table, the woman quickly left.

A Meng hid on the stairs, observing.

Jiang Fei had also knocked out the woman and came to rendezvous with A Meng.

Seeing Jiang Fei hand him two submachine guns, A Meng was dumbfounded.

Where did Miss Jiang get them?!

It wasn't appropriate to ask now. A Meng suppressed his shock, holding a submachine gun in each hand, waiting for the poison to take effect on the people upstairs.

Nearly half an hour passed.

Crash!

A wine glass fell to the ground and shattered, and over twenty people successively collapsed.

Thinking they were just drunk, One-Eyed Dragon scoffed: "Usually, they all brag about being able to drink, so why are they getting drunk so fast at the table?"

"Hehehe... so many colorful little people..."

A younger brother staggered to his feet, reaching out and grabbing aimlessly at the air.

"Let's sing and dance together..."

"It's so beautiful here..."

Over a dozen people began to gesticulate wildly.

One-Eyed Dragon was about to laugh at them for being drunk, when he suddenly noticed the scene before him distorting, eerily turning into large swaths of brilliant colors.

Realizing something was wrong, One-Eyed Dragon, being a ruthless man, immediately drew a dagger and fiercely plunged it into his thigh, using the pain to stay conscious.

Of his confidants beside him, two were slumped unconscious on the table, and three were giggling uncontrollably.

One-Eyed Dragon directly slashed a confidant's arm with a knife, forcing him to sober up.

"You all..."

Da da da —!

The sound of gunfire instantly interrupted One-Eyed Dragon.

Jiang Fei and A Meng, each with two submachine guns, stood at the stairwell, firing wildly.

Suddenly, there was a click.

Almost simultaneously with the booming sound, Jiang Fei reacted with lightning speed, pushing A Meng downstairs and entering the Supermarket herself.

She vaguely saw a strong flash of light.

Someone actually carried a bomb at high temperatures?!

No... a bomb explosion wouldn't be a strong white light.

It was a flashbang!

After staying in the Supermarket for a few seconds, Jiang Fei exited.

The loud bang and strong light had disappeared.

Her first priority was to check on A Meng downstairs.

In the hall on the first floor, A Meng lay on the ground, grimacing in pain.

Fortunately, he hadn't lost his hearing, and his eyesight wasn't damaged.

Unfortunately, rolling down the stairs from the second floor had left him with multiple abrasions, and he ached all over.

After confirming that he had no broken bones, Jiang Fei helped him up.

A Meng said with lingering fear: "Luckily, Miss Jiang, you reacted quickly and pushed me downstairs, otherwise the flashbang would have ruined my eyes."

"You go notify the younger brothers outside to come in."

Jiang Fei went upstairs to check for survivors.

Bodies lay everywhere.

More than half of the people were poisoned to death.

The rest were poisoned by the green mushrooms, completely defenseless, and were riddled with bullets.

Noticing a window wide open on the second floor, Jiang Fei walked over.

Blood remained on the windowsill.

Someone had escaped.

The second floor wasn't far from the ground. Jiang Fei jumped down and followed the blood on the ground.

The rain washed away the dirt, making it difficult to discern. She took out a flashlight to illuminate the path.

The bloodstains disappeared at the intersection, replaced by blurry tire tracks.

Clearly, the person had driven away.

A flashbang causes temporary blindness, so the person who escaped shouldn't have seen her disappear into thin air.

But what if?

Jiang Fei felt a murderous intent, but with no clues, she could only return to the second floor of the restaurant.

The younger brothers were searching the bodies for items.

A Meng stood by, looking worried. Seeing Jiang Fei come upstairs, he asked: "Miss Jiang, where did you go?"

Jiang Fei: "I found someone escaped. I went to chase but didn't catch him."

"The ones who escaped were One-Eyed Dragon and a confidant who was sitting at the square table. I sent two brothers to look for them, but the rain might wash away their tracks."

"And One-Eyed Dragon said something very strange during dinner."

A Meng told Jiang Fei the conversation he had overheard earlier.

"I suspect the boss of the North Market is someone else, and One-Eyed Dragon is just a scapegoat."

Jiang Fei's brows furrowed.

If that were the case, it would be even more troublesome.

"You all keep an eye on the North Market, West Street, and Mingshang recently. We took over the restaurant today, so One-Eyed Dragon and the person behind him will definitely make a move."

A Meng jotted down Jiang Fei's words.

"One-Eyed Dragon is petty and stingy. Having lost so many men and supplies, he will definitely seek revenge. Miss Jiang, you also need to pay attention to your safety."

"Okay." Jiang Fei went upstairs to search.

The 3rd and 4th floors of the restaurant stored food, drinking water, weapons, fruits, and other supplies.

Finding a large batch of gold bars, Jiang Fei took the opportunity to put them into the Supermarket before the younger brothers came up.

System: [Ding — Gold detected: 2,200,000 grams]

One-Eyed Dragon was quite wealthy!

Not interested in the supplies here, Jiang Fei went downstairs and threw a walkie-talkie to A Meng.

"The things upstairs, you and I will split them half and half. My share will be given to Crippled Wang to sell the gold, and it will be delivered to Ping An Supermarket then."

"From now on, use the walkie-talkie to contact me if anything happens."

With that said, Jiang Fei walked out of the restaurant, drove the pickup truck hidden on the street, and circled the Safety Shelter.

Not finding any trace of One-Eyed Dragon, she had no choice but to go home and sleep.

Meanwhile, in a certain bungalow.

One-Eyed Dragon bandaged the wound on his thigh with gauze, took two anti-inflammatory pills, and his face was gloomy.

He had thrown a flashbang as soon as he heard gunshots, and escaped by jumping out the window with a confidant.

He knew without a doubt that tonight's incident was Crippled Wang's doing.

Besides Crippled Wang, no one dared to lay a hand on him in the North Market!

The confidant sitting beside One-Eyed Dragon had also treated his wound and said angrily: "Big Brother, go find that person now! Let him kill Crippled Wang to avenge our brothers!"

"Idiot! If that person finds out the restaurant's supplies are gone and so many people died, you and I won't live!"

One-Eyed Dragon calmed down: "I remember there was a woman at the time."

"She could get submachine guns at the Safety Shelter and wasn't afraid of attracting the Patrol Team. It was probably Jiang Fei."

"You go contact the brothers in other places. It's not easy to deal with Crippled Wang's side now. We'll find an opportunity to rob Ping An's two shops and kidnap Jiang Fei along the way."

That person, he really enjoyed playing with young girls, and his methods were extremely perverted.

He wanted that little bitch Jiang Fei to be tortured to death!
