10: Chapter 10 The Giant Beast in the Clouds

His consciousness returned to his body once more, and Lin Sheng planned to test the flight capabilities of his new wings.

"Whoosh!"

The seemingly heavy wings, under Lin Sheng's casual flapping, actually erupted with unparalleled speed.

His body was like an arrow released from a longbow, starting from the tree branch and shooting towards the Sky.

"Wahoo!"

A joyful roar escaped Lin Sheng's mouth, startling many insects in the forest into fleeing in all directions.

Some bugs didn't look where they were going at all, flying straight toward Lin Sheng's position.

Seeing this, Lin Sheng flapped his wings, intending to try aerial hunting.

Within just a few breaths, Lin Sheng had flown in front of those insects.

Seeing this behemoth suddenly appear, those Little Things, whose body lengths were at most no more than a meter, instantly lost their footing.

They already didn't know where to run, and now, frightened by Lin Sheng, a slow-reacting one crashed directly into Lin Sheng's back.

"Rip."

The sound of a sharp blade tearing through cloth suddenly rang out behind Lin Sheng.

As Lin Sheng's wings sliced through the insect's body, it was actually torn into several pieces.

Fragments of the insect's corpse drifted down from the air.

Seeing this, Lin Sheng was also incredibly shocked.

He hadn't expected that these wings would not only have such fast flight speed but also such terrifying lethality.

Coming back to his senses, Lin Sheng looked at the gradually disappearing Zerg Swarm and performed a direct dive.

"Crunch."

A Dragonfly "accidentally" ended up in Lin Sheng's mouth.

The feeling of flying freely made Lin Sheng feel incredibly refreshed.

He looked up, and a thought suddenly occurred to him.

He wanted to fly upward, to keep flying upward until he could fly no more.

Once this thought arose, it was like a cat scratching at his heart, making Lin Sheng feel itchy with desire.

Without much hesitation, his three pairs of wings stretched out simultaneously, and his body shot rapidly toward the Sky.

The higher he flew, the more clouds surrounded Lin Sheng.

After flying for less than ten minutes, the clouds around him gradually thinned out, and then his vision suddenly opened up.

"Is this the Stratosphere?"

Looking at the dense white clouds in the distance, a surge of pride instantly rose in Lin Sheng's heart.

This was a feeling he had never experienced in his past life.

"Wahoo!"

"Wahoo!"

A resonant roar escaped Lin Sheng's mouth, the sound scattering the surrounding clouds and revealing a segment of a creature's body hidden beneath them, its identity unknown.

"Clang!"

A sound like metal clashing suddenly rang out from within the clouds.

This sound, carrying an indescribable sharpness, pierced through the clouds and stabbed directly into Lin Sheng's mind.

Meanwhile, the clouds surged continuously, and the full appearance of that body segment was revealed to Lin Sheng.

Lin Sheng felt as if his ears were ringing.

But that no longer mattered.

Because the moment he saw the monster's full form, he immediately began to turn around.

Even though he knew there was a high probability he would fall here today, Lin Sheng didn't want to just sit and wait for death.

He still wanted to struggle a bit more.

Seeing that the "Little Bug" in front of it hadn't lost its ability to move under its attack, the Giant Monster was also slightly stunned.

One should know that its attack wasn't as simple as just sound waves.

It also contained a mental deterrent.

This "Little Bug" was quite interesting; under this attack, it actually appeared unscathed.

"Clang!"

Another sound wave attack erupted from the monster's mouth, but Lin Sheng's body only swayed slightly, appearing largely unaffected.

Seeing this, the Giant Monster also became interested in Lin Sheng.

It decided to toy with this "Little Bug" for a while to see how many sound waves he could withstand.

With this mindset, the Giant Monster slowed its flight speed.

It teased Lin Sheng just as it had teased the Dragonfly swarms before, occasionally hitting him with a sound wave attack.

Noticing that the monster behind him hadn't eaten him immediately, a glimmer of relief flashed through Lin Sheng's heart.

At this moment, his mind was racing, thinking about how he could escape the clutches of this monster.

Going all out was definitely out of the question.

For that monster, eating Lin Sheng was like snacking on sunflower seeds; how could someone with Lin Sheng's small frame possibly fight it?

Right now, Lin Sheng's best option seemed to be falling to the Ground and playing dead.

Because from the monster's behavior when he first saw it, its arrogant nature meant it wouldn't deign to eat a corpse on the Ground.

But this idea was quickly dismissed by Lin Sheng.

Because he believed that with the monster's speed, if he played dead mid-air, the monster would likely toss him into its mouth before he even hit the Ground.

If that happened, he would be outsmarting himself.

Since playing dead wouldn't work, Lin Sheng planned to exploit the monster's arrogant nature to find a way to escape.

As he got closer to the Ground, Lin Sheng quickly found that Acid Lake.

What he needed to do now was enter the lake before the monster lost its patience.

Only then would he have a slim chance of survival.

Given the monster's arrogant nature, there was a high probability it would give "face" to the Acid Lake and let this little sunflower seed go.

As he drew closer to the lake surface, Lin Sheng steeled his heart and slowed down significantly.

This move was very risky, but the result satisfied Lin Sheng.

Because of Lin Sheng's sudden deceleration, the monster chasing and toying with him also slowed down.

Seizing this opportunity, Lin Sheng accelerated fiercely and dove headfirst into the lake before the monster could react.

The monster in mid-air, seeing this, suddenly felt as though it had been toyed with by the "Little Bug" before it.

It raised its head in anger.

"Clang!"

"Clang!"

"Clang!"

Several roars, even more ear-piercing than before, erupted from the monster's mouth.

These roars didn't cause any harm to Lin Sheng, but the fish in the shallow areas suffered.

Countless Giant Fish floated on the surface with their bellies up.

Seeing this, Lin Sheng endured his physical discomfort and dove to the very bottom of the Acid Lake.

Although his skin had Acid Resistance, the concentration of acid at the bottom of the lake still made him very uncomfortable.

The monster in the air opened its mouth, and a pillar of water rose from the lake.

It carried the schools of fish toward the monster's mouth.

Just as the water pillar was about to reach the monster's mouth, it hesitated slightly.

Ultimately, a look of disgust appeared on its face, and it did not swallow the water pillar.

Seeing that it could do nothing about Lin Sheng, the monster did not plan to wait there indefinitely.

Before leaving, it stared at Lin Sheng for a long time, as if trying to etch him firmly into its memory.
