143: Chapter 143 The Incomplete Universe

Lin Sheng took a deep breath.

"Wuhu~"

Following that long, strange sound of a belch, his stomach felt much more comfortable.

At least he didn't have to keep belching so pathologically anymore.

...

"To travel to other Parallel Universes, you need to at least master the 'Fourth Dimension'."

"This isn't particularly difficult for you."

"Once you've mastered the Fourth Dimension, you can pass through..."

Somewhere in the deep space of the universe, Lin Sheng's body was in a state of Evolution. His consciousness had left his body, intently listening to the Light Lord "preaching" to him.

The Light Lord was explaining the method of traveling to other Parallel Universes to Lin Sheng; Lin Sheng had pestered the Light Lord for a long time before the Light Lord finally told him.

For Lin Sheng, traveling to other Parallel Universes wasn't actually hard; the hard part was how to obtain the machines or talents required for Parallel Universe traversal.

As part of the materialist faction, or rather the technology faction, Lin Sheng couldn't immediately put things into practice after obtaining a certain technique like those on the cultivation side.

Even though Lin Sheng already knew the method to go to other Parallel Universes, he still needed a medium to implement that method.

Without a medium, it was all in vain.

And with Lin Sheng's current capabilities, going to a Level 4 civilization to snatch the necessary "medium" was a bit too much of a stretch.

Therefore, even after obtaining the method, Lin Sheng couldn't immediately go to other Parallel Universes.

Unless...

"What are you going to a Parallel Universe for? Are the resources of the Great Universe not enough for you?"

The Light Lord was very surprised to learn that Lin Sheng wanted to go to other Parallel Universes.

Although putting Lin Sheng in a Parallel Universe would technically be a good thing for the Great Universe.

But the problem was that the resources of Parallel Universes were far inferior to those of the Great Universe. How could Lin Sheng possibly abandon the rich resources of the Great Universe to go to a Parallel Universe?

As the saying goes, "when things are abnormal, there must be a demon." The Light Lord didn't know what Lin Sheng was thinking, so it was better to ask clearly.

You couldn't really blame the Light Lord for not trusting Lin Sheng; the main reason was that Lin Sheng had pranked the Light Lord more than once or twice.

"Uh... don't look at me with that kind of expression. This time I really just want to go see other Parallel Universes, I don't have any other intentions."

"Weren't those Creator individuals who caused trouble before exiled to other universes? I just want to adapt in advance so I can go find them directly when the time comes."

Seeing the Light Lord's "skeptical emoji" expression, Lin Sheng laughed sheepishly.

Heaven be my witness, he really didn't have any extra ulterior motives this time.

"Is that really so?"

The Light Lord's emoji face frowned. It looked at Lin Sheng, whose face was written with sincerity, and fell into thought for a moment.

After thinking for a bit, the Light Lord made a decision in its heart.

"I can take you, but not to a Parallel Universe."

"If you plan on going to the Great Universe where they were exiled later, I strongly suggest you visit this fragmented universe first."

"Anything works. If you think it's appropriate, then let's go to that fragmented universe you mentioned."

Lin Sheng nodded.

Since he didn't have any other purpose this time, and the Light Lord had a more suitable place, he would naturally accept the suggestion.

"Alright then, I'll take you there now."

As soon as the words fell, the Light Lord's figure flashed, directly taking Lin Sheng away from that place.

...

To the naked eye, this was a zone of chaos.

After placing Lin Sheng in this chaos zone, the Light Lord spoke:

"This fragmented universe is a piece that the 'Source of Information' and its peers dug out from that exiled universe. They placed it somewhere in our Great Universe, and now it serves as one of their experimental grounds."

"The underlying rules of this fragmented universe are identical to the underlying logic of that exiled universe. You can start by getting a handle on this fragmented universe first."

"Once you enter, I won't be accompanying you anymore. Take care of yourself."

After explaining the origin of this fragmented universe to Lin Sheng, the Light Lord gave him a "wave goodbye" emoji expression.

"Another Source of Information experimental ground?"

Lin Sheng waved goodbye to the Light Lord while frowning in thought.

After the Light Lord's figure vanished, Lin Sheng lifted his foot and stepped into the chaotic land ahead.

...

Having left the chaos zone, the Light Lord's figure appeared at the site of the Light Lord Civilization, near the endless energy.

Marshal Chang Xin had already been waiting there for a long time.

"Do you think he will help us?"

"No."

Hearing Marshal Chang Xin's question, the Light Lord gave a blunt denial.

Although from Marshal Chang Xin's perspective, there was no conflict between it and Lin Sheng.

But from Lin Sheng's perspective at the time, his conflict with the 'Source of Information' and 'Creator' civilizations was irreconcilable.

The 'Source of Information' was actually somewhat better; at least they were the Creators of Eighteen.

But the 'Creator' was different.

Several of their members could be considered directly responsible for Eighteen's death. Given Lin Sheng's personality, it would be a testament to his good character if he didn't defect in the middle of a fight.

Marshal Chang Xin was stunned by the Light Lord's decisive answer, then followed up with another question.

"Then why did you still send him there?"

"He wants to go to that hostile universe, so I put him here first to adapt."

Hearing the Light Lord say this, Marshal Chang Xin suddenly felt like there might still be a chance.

"He is my friend. I don't want anything unexpected to happen to him because of you."

Noticing the change in Marshal Chang Xin's mindset, the Light Lord spoke in a neutral tone.

This was the first time Marshal Chang Xin had heard the Light Lord speak to him in such a semi-threatening tone.

To this, he quickly gave his assurance.

"Rest assured, even I find it difficult to directly observe that place for long, let alone intervene."

"That is for the best."

...

Lin Sheng didn't know when it started, but he felt that evolution points were becoming less and less useful.

Currently, evolution points had no other use besides increasing his size and killing time with the lottery.

In the system's words, Lin Sheng had already reached a certain "realm," and further improvement could only rely on "enlightenment"; it didn't want to force his growth unnaturally.

Consequently, even the drop rates for the lottery were pitifully low, to the point where Lin Sheng using evolution points for the lottery was just a way to kill time.

"System, draw..."

Having just stepped into this fragmented universe, Lin Sheng habitually wanted to do a few lottery draws.

But before he could finish his sentence, several "ding-ding" system notification sounds rang in his ears.

[Ding]

[Affected by the universe rules, the Host has obtained the talent: chaotic information (rule level)]

[chaotic information (rule level): A negative talent? Your surface information presents a chaotic and distorted state. Weak beings who look directly at you will also become chaotic and distorted because of this. Fortunately, your 'Divinity' can help you resist this influence on other creatures]

[Ding]

[Affected by the universe rules, the Host has met the conditions for Evolution. Please evolve within 100 days, otherwise the opportunity will be forfeited]

Feeling the distorted discomfort coming from his body, Lin Sheng tried to use "Absolute Adaptation" to counter "chaotic information."

But "Absolute Adaptation" was only a "law level" talent after all. Before the "rule level" "chaotic information," it had no effect at all.

"System, start the Evolution."
