183: Chapter 183 Searching for Other Saints
The young man had lowered his head without even realizing it.
Regardless of whether his guess was correct, he was certain of one thing: the person before him was not an existence he could hope to fathom.
"As for the person, she and I will go find them."
"As for you..."
Lin Sheng glanced at the youth in front of him, then shifted his gaze toward the silent Yeros standing to the side.
"How do you plan to handle him?"
"Should I take him back to the Great Cathedral first?"
Yeros replied after a moment's thought.
Lin Sheng was indifferent to the matter, but since Yeros was heading back to the Great Cathedral, he intended to follow along and have a look.
After settling the youth's situation, the two didn't bother asking for his opinion and simply took him away from that place.
Under Yeros's lead, Lin Sheng crossed countless light-years in a single step, appearing directly in the heart of the Ximi Starfield the next moment.
Upon arriving, the youth immediately faced the direction of the Ximi God and knelt down with deep devotion.
The people passing by weren't particularly surprised by the scene; after all, worshipping the god was a very common sight here.
Once they arrived, Lin Sheng paid no more attention to the youth.
Yeros watched the youth for a moment before also losing interest.
She followed Lin Sheng's footsteps toward where the Ximi God resided.
The Ximi God here was not a statue of god, but a true Main God.
In Lin Sheng's eyes, the Ximi God was nowhere near as massive as she had appeared when viewed from the edge of the starfield.
The Ximi God here was roughly the size of an ordinary human; in fact, she was even quite a bit shorter than Lin Sheng.
However, given the Ximi God's level of existence, she appeared exceptionally tall and imposing in the eyes of those ordinary people.
Lin Sheng gazed at the Ximi God, but she didn't seem to notice him.
Even at such close range, the Ximi God's face remained a blur, yet those eyes—brilliant as the stars—still deeply captivated Lin Sheng's gaze.
"I really want to gouge those eyeballs out."
Lin Sheng took a deep breath of the dense divine power surrounding them, involuntarily fantasizing in his mind about "conveniently" taking those eyes with him when he left.
"What did you say?"
Just then, Yeros seemed to have heard his words and asked subconsciously.
"Hmm?"
"I said those eyes are truly beautiful."
Lin Sheng averted his gaze, no longer looking at the eyes before him.
The Ximi God's situation was rather special; as a Main God, it was no easy feat to forcibly remain within the Outer Universe.
Lin Sheng could see that this body had been barely sustained by faith all this time, with no other source of replenishment whatsoever.
If any external power were to interfere with the Ximi Starfield, the Ximi God would surely meet her end.
Yeros had only asked in passing; she didn't actually care what Lin Sheng had just said, as her mind was currently focused entirely on the remaining saints.
"Shall we go find them?"
"Sure."
After Lin Sheng agreed, he sensed their presence for a moment and then led Yeros to a planet on the edge of the starfield.
The arrival of the two did not alert the church members on the planet.
Under Lin Sheng's guidance, they arrived in front of an Antique Shop.
Lin Sheng entered the Antique Shop, scanned the items inside, and then his gaze landed on an inconspicuous counter within the store.
On that counter sat several rather "bizarre" items, among which severed limbs of unknown creatures were everywhere.
They were arranged neatly together, looking particularly eerie.
"Dear guest, those are not for sale. If you are sincerely looking to buy something, you can take a look over here."
Lin Sheng hadn't hidden his gaze since entering the shop, so the Shopkeeper naturally noticed where he was looking.
Seeing Lin Sheng's eyes constantly lingering on those severed limbs, the Shopkeeper wasn't actually surprised.
After all, many people who came to this Antique Shop had their attention immediately drawn to those things.
"I'm very interested in these items and sincerely wish to purchase them. I wonder if the Shopkeeper could spare a moment for a private word."
Lin Sheng shook his head, acting with such sincerity that it gave the illusion he truly wanted to buy those things.
Looking at the earnest Lin Sheng and the delicate young girl following behind him, the Shopkeeper's lips curled into a nearly imperceptible smirk.
"Since the guest is so sincere, please follow me. We can speak privately."
With that, the Shopkeeper made a "please" gesture, signaling Lin Sheng to head toward the inner room.
Lin Sheng didn't hesitate and led Yeros directly into the inner room of the Antique Shop.
On the surface, the inner room was a storage closet, but in the eyes of Lin Sheng and Yeros, it was piled high with skeletal remains.
These skeletons made it somewhat difficult for Yeros to find a place to step, as she wasn't wearing any shoes.
However, Yeros clearly didn't care about that at the moment.
She had actually noticed this Antique Shop the very moment they arrived on this planet.
To be precise, she had noticed these skeletons within the shop.
After entering the storage room, the Shopkeeper finally showed his true colors.
He turned around and looked at Lin Sheng with a sinister expression.
The Shopkeeper opened his mouth, wanting to say a few dramatic words before making his move.
But no matter how his mouth opened and closed, he couldn't make a single sound.
Upon realizing this, the Shopkeeper's expression froze.
Noticing that Lin Sheng had maintained an expression of having everything under control since entering, the Shopkeeper's heart sank.
He wanted to strike immediately, but he suddenly found that his body no longer seemed to obey him.
"Heh."
Just then, Lin Sheng let out a soft chuckle, breaking the silent atmosphere in the room.
Ignoring the trapped Shopkeeper, he turned and pointed at the pile of skulls in the corner, saying to Yeros:
"Do you see those skulls?"
Hearing this, Yeros's gaze also fell upon the skulls.
Feeling the desperate thoughts emanating from the skulls, a strange emotion began to sprout in Yeros's heart.
"Those skulls are actually still alive."
"However, since their physical bodies were destroyed, their consciousnesses have been trapped within the heads, suffering through endless nightmares."
"Look at this man, a Transcendent Seventh Tier. He's considered a top-tier powerhouse here."
"The fact that he became this strong is all thanks to these lost souls."
"He worships the 'Lord of Nightmares' and should have been corrupted by the evil god's power."
"But because of... the god's protection, and because he himself is quite cautious, the power of the 'Lord of Nightmares' has difficulty reaching this place, which gave this man an opportunity to exploit."
"To be honest, if the god didn't protect people like him, he would have been corrupted by the evil god long ago, and these innocent people wouldn't have to suffer such torture."
The more Lin Sheng spoke, the more enthusiastic he became, while Yeros's expression grew increasingly grim.
Sensing Yeros's current state, Lin Sheng asked with a smile:
"How does it feel?"
"I feel... angry?"
This was an emotion Yeros had never experienced before, but she knew it was called "anger."
This emotion was directed at the Shopkeeper in front of her.
