99: Chapter 99 Encounter with the Origin Aliens

Lin Sheng was startled by the sudden, massive boom.

If he didn't know his consciousness was at the "Truth Level," he would have suspected he had suffered a cultivation deviation.

Gazing in the direction of the sound, Lin Sheng felt a surge of curiosity.

A boom of this magnitude was far beyond what the primitive giant beasts of Eighteen Stars could produce.

There were only two possibilities for such a noise: either a meteorite impact or an invasion by a technological civilization.

Between these two guesses, Lin Sheng leaned toward the former.

"It's the latter."

At that moment, "Omniscience" suddenly spoke up.

Lin Sheng blinked in surprise.

He was astonished; he hadn't expected an alien civilization to invade Eighteen Stars, given that it was located in such an absurd region of space.

Lin Sheng decided to head toward the explosion to investigate the situation.

Judging by the current performance of this civilization, its level probably wasn't very high.

If a civilization's level had reached the tier of the "Creator" or the "Source of Information," they wouldn't even need to use the word "invasion."

Wouldn't it be better to just use the word "strike"?

Ultimately, the civilization invading Eighteen Stars was of a relatively low level.

For such a low-level civilization, energy was a necessity.

The place where Lin Sheng was currently staying was the most energy-abundant region on Eighteen Stars. Once that alien civilization finished scouting the planet, they would most likely cross paths with him.

By heading over now, Lin Sheng could scout the situation of this "imaginary enemy."

If they really did clash, he could be prepared in advance.

...

"Commander, this planet's gravity parameters are far higher than those of Origin Star."

"The external temperature is very low, even lower than the Permafrost Poles of Origin Star."

"The night outside is a bit abnormal; it doesn't seem like a regular night."

Hearing the technician's report, the Old General, Yu She, issued orders methodically:

"Deploy the Field Shields."

"Activate electromagnetic radar and stay alert for any surrounding activity. You are authorized to open fire immediately upon any threat."

"We will leave this planet first and observe its conditions from space."

After all, this wasn't the Origin Star people's planet, nor was it even in their home star system; they didn't need to worry about the consequences of opening fire.

If there was danger—or even just a hint of movement—opening fire was the wisest choice for them.

"Understood!"

A chorus of synchronized responses came through the communication channel.

As the Origin Star fleet began its ascent, they were unaware that not far away, a massive figure shrouded in gray mist had been observing them for a long time.

The figure was surrounded by a layer of eerie electromagnetic waves, which prevented the Origin Star ships from immediately detecting this figure hidden in the darkness.

Just as the Origin Star fleet was taking off, an observer in the fleet suddenly noticed an anomaly.

On the electromagnetic radar feedback, one location returned a result of "nothing at all."

Compared to the feedback from other areas, this empty spot seemed completely out of place.

Normally, if there were no biological entities in a location, the electromagnetic radar would return feedback of an empty Ground.

But that spot didn't even return the information for "Ground"; it was just a large-scale void zone.

Upon discovering this, the observer did not hesitate and directly mobilized the strongest strike available within their clearance.

Several Electromagnetic Railguns aimed at that strange spot. As the observer pressed the fire button, they also reported their discovery upward.

"General, there is a strange location here. Requesting a strike on it."

"Request approved."

The Old General Yu She's voice rang through the comms. As he finished speaking, the observer was granted higher-level weapon permissions.

The observer looked at the control screen, intending to continue the strike on the suspicious location.

But in the next instant, a sudden change occurred.

After the operator fired several Electromagnetic Railgun rounds, the blank zone on the radar suddenly vanished, replaced by a gargantuan monster.

The monster's size far exceeded any ship in the fleet; even the flagship where Old General Yu She was stationed was dwarfed by this suddenly appearing creature.

"Fire!"

The Old General reacted quickly. Almost the instant the radar gave feedback, his powerful voice rang out over the communication channel.

The Old General was fast, but the monster was faster.

After being hit by a round of Electromagnetic Railgun fire, the monster immediately dropped its stealth state.

With a flicker of movement, almost at the exact moment the Old General spoke, it flashed directly beside the fleet.

Boom! Boom!

Several massive explosions rang out where the monster had just been standing.

Soaring light illuminated a large area nearby, revealing the appearance of the monster attacking the fleet.

It was a creature entirely enveloped in gray mist, its size far exceeding the understanding of the Origin Star people.

If Lin Sheng were here, he would have recognized it as the "Bone Stripper" that was on his hunting list.

In front of the monster, even though the Origin Star fleet was equipped with Antimatter Bombs, a mysterious sense of terror rose within them as they faced it.

"Accelerate the evacuation!"

"Use Antimatter Bombs on it from a safe distance!"

The Old General shouted his orders.

After a brief moment of panic, the fleet's pilots began to control the ships to accelerate their ascent.

Rumble!

"General, the flank escort ship is under attack!"

"Everyone be careful, this monster can control Electromagnetic Force!"

A wave of commotion broke out in the communication channel.

Outside, the Bone Stripper, having been startled, had now locked onto this Origin Star fleet.

Its body now gripped a ship on the fleet's flank; in the Bone Stripper's hands, the ship was like a child's toy.

The Bone Stripper's claws wrenched with force, but something surprising happened.

Under its tearing force, this iron lump only slightly deformed and did not snap.

Refusing to believe it, the Bone Stripper immediately increased its strength.

Alarms immediately blared from the ship caught by the Bone Stripper:

"Warning! Warning!"

"Hull severely damaged by external tearing force."

"Please clear the external interference immediately to prevent further hull damage."

While the Bone Stripper's attention was entirely focused on the ship in its hands, the other ships began to strike it with Electromagnetic Railguns, hoping to draw its attention and save the vessel.

Boom! Boom! Boom!

Blinding light exploded across the Bone Stripper's body. These Electromagnetic Railguns didn't do much damage to the Bone Stripper, but the bright light directly enraged it.
