74: Chapter 74 The Little Thing's Fate

"Do you know what the Legitimate Heir looks like, and where the Di Star is located?"

The Old Thing had already found information regarding the Legitimate Heir, and this time it answered very quickly:

["In the information provided by the 'Creator,' the Legitimate Heir does not have a uniform appearance."]

["They are highly adaptable and can grow into whatever form they desire in a short period based on their needs."]

["They also love to eat and possess extremely strong reproductive capabilities; they eat whatever is available and reproduce as much as they eat."]

["As for the location of the Di Star..."]

As it spoke to this point, the Old Thing suddenly stopped.

It used its pincers to draw several circles on the ground.

["This is the Di Star."]

Lin Sheng could see that what the Old Thing had drawn was the Solar System.

He made a comparison and then discovered to his surprise that the location of this "Di Star" was actually right next to Pluto!

Judging by the size of the Di Star, it was actually a moon of Pluto!

Lin Sheng immediately thought of what Eighteen had said before, that there was a great terror on one of Pluto's moons.

Could the great terror Eighteen spoke of be the "Legitimate Heir"?

Lin Sheng felt his guess was likely correct; the great terror Eighteen mentioned was definitely the "Legitimate Heir."

From the Old Thing's description, Lin Sheng had roughly guessed what the "Legitimate Heir" actually was.

"A race," "no uniform appearance," "highly adaptable," "eats whatever is available," and "reproduces as much as it eats."

This was undoubtedly a bug!

Setting Lin Sheng aside, if one were to ask which biological group in the Solar System had the most potential, it would undoubtedly be the Zerg.

And under the premise that "all living things in the Solar System were created," those abilities of the Zerg must have been bestowed by the Creator who favored them.

Since the "Creator" favored the Zerg, then the Zerg were undoubtedly the "Legitimate Heir."

Thinking of this, Lin Sheng's understanding of the situation near Pluto became clear.

No wonder Eighteen said back then that the great terror near Pluto wasn't a single creature; it turned out they were a swarm of bugs.

What Lin Sheng couldn't quite understand was just how terrifying the bugs near Pluto were to have scared Eighteen like that.

Shaking his head, Lin Sheng temporarily suppressed the chaotic thoughts in his mind.

After knowing that the Legitimate Heir was the Zerg and that their headquarters was over by Pluto, Lin Sheng unconsciously felt a sense of crisis.

From the information given by the Old Thing, Lin Sheng felt that the Zerg would make a big move in the future.

Because the Old Thing had mentioned that "the Illegitimate Sons are born for the Legitimate Heir and must unconditionally support everything the Legitimate Heir does," this indicated that the Legitimate Heir would certainly have a use for the Illegitimate Sons later on.

But looking at the Old Thing in front of him, which was less than three meters tall, Lin Sheng really couldn't figure out what the bugs could use them for.

They wouldn't even be enough to fill the gaps between their teeth, right?

Lin Sheng accidentally glanced at the energy device, and in that instant, it was as if he thought of something; a flash of inspiration suddenly struck his mind.

"Old Thing, how long have you lived? How long have all you Little Things lived?"

["How long have we lived?"]

["A very, very long time. From when we were created by the 'Creator' until now, we have lived for... lived for..."]

["A very long time. We Little Things can live forever."]

Hearing the Old Thing say this, Lin Sheng was very surprised.

He had originally thought the Little Things just lived a bit longer, but he never expected that these Little Things actually wouldn't die of natural causes.

Since they wouldn't die naturally, what about unnatural deaths?

"Among your race of Little Things, has any Little Thing ever died?"

["No."]

The Old Thing's answer was blunt and certain.

["We Little Things possess Biological Information Recovery Devices; Little Things do not die."]

["Even if a Little Thing is about to 'starve' to death, as long as it touches an energy device, the Little Thing will immediately recover."]

Lin Sheng seemed to understand the purpose of the Little Things, but if their purpose really was what he thought, it seemed a bit redundant.

However, who could know the thoughts of a High-Level Civilization?

Perhaps they had their own unique insights.

Lin Sheng used "Omniscience" to investigate the Old Thing's condition.

["Name: Old Thing"]

["Race: Little Things"]

["Attitude towards me: Friendly"]

["Available body energy: 1,421 evolution points"]

["evolution points obtainable from devouring: 241,541,289"]

"Just as I thought."

After understanding the information provided by "Omniscience" regarding the Old Thing, Lin Sheng secretly had an internal struggle.

In the end, he did not make a move against it.

A large part of the reason was the Old Thing's attitude toward him.

Although this attitude didn't compare to Eighteen's, the Old Thing also viewed Lin Sheng as a relative.

With this "relative" filter in place, Lin Sheng really couldn't bring himself to devour the Little Things.

"Sigh..."

"Tell me more about the 'Creator' and things related to the 'Creator,' the more detailed the better."

After Lin Sheng sighed, he began chatting with the Old Thing again.

The Old Thing's hemispherical eyes unconsciously shrank for a moment.

He didn't know if it was an illusion, but just a moment ago, its information panel seemed to have sensed danger and suddenly flickered.

However, it didn't think too much about it. Now that Lin Sheng had more questions, it had to search for information to answer them.

["The 'Creator' is the Creator of all physical beings in the world, the most powerful existence in the world, the..."]

As soon as the "Creator" was mentioned, the Old Thing immediately transformed into a "fanatic," its voice unable to stop.

It wasn't until Lin Sheng felt like his ears were about to grow calluses that the Old Thing stopped its non-stop "preaching."

"Finally starting to say something useful."

During the Old Thing's "preaching," Lin Sheng had several urges to interrupt it, but he forced himself to hold back.

["The 'Creator's' body size is a bit larger than ours, but only limitedly so."]

["Its appearance is roughly... is..."]

The Old Thing gestured for quite a while, but even with "Omniscience," Lin Sheng couldn't understand what the hell the Old Thing was gesturing at.

Realizing it couldn't seem to explain the "Creator's" appearance clearly, the Old Thing simply skipped the topic and began talking about other things related to the "Creator."

Don't call the protagonist a 'Mary Sue' in this chapter.

Currently, the protagonist is still in the early stages of transmigration. Although he is somewhat thick-skinned, he still retains the emotions of a 'human.'

At this stage, the protagonist is at least mentally a normal person and cannot do things like turning his back on someone immediately.
