225: Chapter 225 The Miraculous Flower Unleashes its Power
"Oh?"
Hearing Song Yang's near-provocative declaration, Siso did not get angry; instead, he let out an amused chuckle.
He even clapped his hands in a slow, deliberate manner.
"Interesting, truly interesting."
Siso's gaze swept back and forth over Song Yang; his eyes didn't look like they were regarding an enemy, but rather evaluating a rare commodity.
"Young man, you have great courage, but your horizons are still too narrow."
He drifted forward a fraction, his posture as elegant as a king inspecting his domain:
"A planet that is heading towards death, yet it could actually give birth to a life like you; this is a miracle.
It is the will of this planet, exhausting its final bit of fortune, betting everything on you. It chose you."
"I admire the strong. Return the Star Beast egg to me, and swear your allegiance to me."
"I can let bygones be bygones, and even take you away from this planet that is on the verge of collapse to see the truly vast universe."
"Captain!"
Kyle, behind him, could no longer contain himself. "Why are you dallying with this native? He is obviously stalling for time! Let me go twist his head off; the egg must be on him!"
Siso did not even turn his head, merely lifting his hand casually, and Kyle immediately shut his mouth, though the brutality and murderous intent in his eyes grew even more intense.
"How about it?"
A smile returned to Siso's face.
"Use a dead object you cannot possibly control to exchange for a ticket to the boundless sea of stars.
This transaction, for a native like you, is a favor that only gods can bestow."
Seeing that Song Yang did not respond for a long time, Siso's eyes turned completely cold.
Kyle grinned, revealing a mouthful of stark white teeth, and the red war blade in his hand hummed, its surface seemingly flowing with magma.
Without a single wasted movement, he stepped into the void, transforming into a red Afterimage as he charged over.
Song Yang similarly swung his long spear, meeting him head-on.
The two collided.
With the two of them as the center, a visible ring of white shockwaves exploded outward, and the rotting leaves and soil below were completely blown away.
The two clashed fiercely in the air; after a few rounds, Song Yang flicked his wrist, and his long spear shot out like a venomous dragon, the shaft tracing a mysterious arc in the air, bypassing the war blade to strike directly at Kyle's chest!
This spear strike was faster than Kyle's reaction limit!
In this life-or-death moment, Kyle twisted his body backward at an incredible angle, simultaneously holding his war blade horizontally in front of his chest.
"Puchi!"
The spear tip grazed past his ribs, bringing up a trail of blood droplets.
Although he avoided a vital spot, that sharp spear energy still penetrated his body, leaving a wound on his flank that was deep enough to see bone.
Kyle staggered back a hundred meters before stabilizing his figure; he looked down at his bleeding wound, and when he looked up at Song Yang again, the bloodlust in his eyes had turned into madness mixed with shock and anger.
"You're courting death!"
He held nothing back, pouring the energy within his body into the red war blade without reservation; the magma patterns on the blade became incredibly brilliant, as if they were about to erupt the next second.
And all of this was taken in by Siso, who was not far away.
"How could a native of a closed planet possess such mature spear techniques?"
Siso was a bit puzzled.
He suddenly felt that he had truly underestimated this dying planet, and had also underestimated this "miracle" chosen by the planet before him.
The crimson blade light nearly tore the sky apart; Kyle's offensive became violent and chaotic, each strike carrying a ferocity intended to cut Song Yang and his spear in two.
Every collision between blade and spear erupted with a dull, thunderous roar, with sparks flying everywhere.
Song Yang's figure constantly dodged amidst the storm-like attacks, his tiger's mouth numbed by the vibrations.
He knew very well that the opponent was using pure power to overwhelm him; if they continued to grapple like this, he would definitely be the first to exhaust his strength.
He couldn't delay any longer.
The thought flashed through his mind in the blink of an eye; taking advantage of the immense force of a parry, Song Yang drifted backward dozens of meters and reached out with his left hand.
Seven mysterious flowers of various shapes appeared out of thin air, instantly blooming above his palm!
There was no intoxicating fragrance, nor any brilliant radiance.
The moment the petals unfurled, an invisible, intangible, yet seemingly soul-freezing, eerie ripple spread outward!
Siso's pupils suddenly constricted.
"Mental energy?"
Kyle's mind, filled with slaughter and madness, was as if struck hard by an invisible heavy hammer.
His forward charging motion experienced a stagnation that was almost imperceptible to the naked eye; the monstrous, fierce light in his eyes instantly dissipated, turning into a blank void.
This is it!
For Song Yang, this 0.5-second opening was all that decided life and death!
The long spear in his hand no longer made any sound; the spear shaft seemed to merge into the air, transforming into an uncatchable, death-gray phantom.
"Puchi!"
The first landing point of the phantom was Kyle's brow.
"Puchi!"
The second landing point was his Adam's apple.
"Puchi!"
The third landing point pierced through his heart.
Three blood holes, pierced in a straight line.
The blankness in Kyle's eyes froze; he couldn't even comprehend what had happened before the life force within his body rapidly ebbed away like a bursting flood.
His tall body swayed in the air, then fell powerlessly toward the forest below, smashing into the mud, and there was no more sound.
The smile on Siso's face disappeared.
He did not look at his subordinate's corpse, his gaze locked firmly on Song Yang and the seven flowers in his hand.
"So, this is your trump card."
"Using a mental-type mysterious object to instantly impact the consciousness, then using a set of masterful, lethal spear techniques to finish off the opponent."
"I take back what I said before."
"I will no longer underestimate you; I will treat you as a real opponent."
As Siso's voice fell, he extended both hands, palms facing upward.
There was no light, nor any fluctuation of energy; two huge scimitars with strange shapes appeared out of thin air and were held in his hands.
The scimitars were pitch black, as if they could absorb all light, and strange silver patterns were engraved on the blades, looking like the blood vessels of some living thing.
He just stood there, and a terrifying aura far exceeding Kyle's suppressed down like a mountain.
Song Yang's heart sank; he knew he was facing an enemy on a completely different level.
He did not hesitate in the slightest, activating the seven mysterious flowers in his left palm once again.
That eerie ripple capable of interfering with consciousness spread out like ripples once again.
However, this time, the once-unfailing mental shock seemed to have hit an invisible wall.
Siso's eyes did not show even a moment of fluctuation; in those deep eyes, there was even a trace of mockery, as if he were watching a childish trick.
The next instant, Siso arrived in front of Song Yang and kicked him hard in the chest and abdomen.
It wasn't a blade, nor a fist, just a simple whip kick.
It was so fast that Song Yang's body couldn't even make any defensive posture.
The crisp sound of ribs breaking was clearly audible.
Song Yang was like a stone thrown by a catapult, flying backward and crashing into the primeval rainforest below.
He broke through more than a dozen giant trees that would require several people to embrace, finally plowing a deep trench nearly a hundred meters long in the moist mud before stopping in the wreckage.
His throat tasted sweet, and he spat out a mouthful of blood.
Siso looked down from above at Song Yang, who was embedded in the mud.
"If this is all you are capable of, then today, you will die a very ugly death."
