66: Chapter 66 The Celebrity Being Auctioned

Just then, a figure walked straight toward the two of them.

It was a bloated, fat man with greasy hair combed back, revealing a shiny, large forehead.

He wore an obviously ill-fitting, grease-stained suit jacket, his small eyes darting around over Zhang Yu.

The fat man walked up to Song Yang, rubbed his thick palms together, and asked with a smile:

"Brother, this girl is pretty good, looks and figure are top-notch. How much?"

Zhang Yu could hardly believe her ears.

"Sell"?

He actually used that word?

Song Yang was expressionless, not even lifting his eyelids: "Not for sale."

The smile on the fat man's face stiffened, as if he hadn't expected such an answer.

He looked Song Yang up and down, then piled the smile back onto his face:

"Hey, brother, don't say that. The price is negotiable. I see this girl is only in her early twenties, soft and tender, surely she's still a virgin, right?"

"How about this, I'll offer three boxes of instant noodles, how's that? These days, instant noodles are hard currency!"

He held up three fat fingers and waved them in front of Song Yang.

A curve appeared at the corner of Song Yang's mouth.

"Three boxes is too little."

The fat man's eyes lit up, thinking there was a chance, and he quickly said:

"Then you name a number! As long as it's not too outrageous, I'm okay with it!"

"Three hundred boxes."

Song Yang interrupted him, "Three hundred boxes of instant noodles, and you can take her away."

The fat man's smile froze on his face, his small eyes staring at Song Yang in disbelief, as if he had heard something absurd.

He was stunned for a few seconds before reacting, his face instantly flushing red:

"Three hundred boxes?! Are you crazy?! If I had three hundred boxes of instant noodles, the women in my house would have already hit double digits! Do you think I'd be wasting time talking to you here?!"

"You're a lunatic."

The fat man walked away cursing.

Song Yang acted as if he hadn't heard the fat man's curses and led Zhang Yu straight into the interior of the Villa.

Soon, Song Yang's footsteps stopped in a corner.

A tarp was spread on the ground, displaying chunks of dark red, blackened meat and bone fragments stained with congealed blood.

The stall owner was a thin man wearing a worn-out leather jacket, with a long scar on his face and gloomy eyes, currently looking down and using a small knife to pick dirt from under his fingernails.

Song Yang's gaze fell on the center of the stall, where there was a relatively intact white limb that looked like a Night Demon's arm.

Most striking was the severed end, which was exceptionally smooth, as if cut by some extremely sharp tool.

"What is this?" Song Yang asked, knowing the answer.

The stall owner looked up, his murky eyes scanning Song Yang, then glancing at Zhang Yu beside him, his voice dry:

"A Night Demon's arm. How about it, interested?"

"How much?" Song Yang asked.

"Five bottles of mineral water."

The man held up five fingers, "Clean, unopened ones."

Song Yang nodded and asked again:

"Is there a complete corpse?"

The man sneered, as if he had heard a joke:

"Complete? Brother, are you kidding me? That thing moves like a ghost, so fast you can't see it clearly!"

"Being able to chop off an arm is already lucky, and it cost several people's lives. A complete corpse? Don't even think about it."

Song Yang didn't seem surprised. He stared at the severed arm, pondered for a moment, and asked:

"What is this thing used for?"

The scarred man grinned:

"Use? It has plenty of uses. Mash up the flesh and blood of this thing and smear it on your body. For at least half an hour, those monsters wandering outside will mistake you for one of their own and won't bother you."

"Of course, provided you don't provoke them or get too close. This thing is a great life-saving item."

"I'll take the arm."

Song Yang didn't ask any more questions and took out five unopened bottles of mineral water from the side pocket of his backpack.

The scarred man's eyes lit up suddenly, and he quickly reached out to take the water.

"Alright! You're a straightforward guy, brother!"

He deftly pulled a relatively clean rag from the side, wrapped the white Night Demon arm haphazardly, and handed it to Song Yang.

"Brother, good eye! This Night Demon arm is a hot item!"

He rubbed his hands, lowered his voice, and leaned in mysteriously, "Basically everyone who comes here smears this stuff on themselves."

"I have other good stuff here too. Look at this bone. Grind it into powder and drink it with water; I guarantee your bones will be hard enough to block blades!"

"And this, the claw of a 'Carrion Vulture'. Hang it dried at the door, and it can ward off evil and avoid disaster."

The stall owner got more and more excited, spittle flying.

"Especially this 'Blood-Toothed Hound' member, let me tell you, that thing is a great tonic!"

"Eat it and I guarantee you'll be tireless, bedding ten women a night is no problem! How about it, brother? I like you, I'll give you a fair price, three bottles of water and it's yours!"

Song Yang took the wrapped severed arm and stuffed it into his backpack.

He wasn't stupid; most of these monster corpses were poisonous, and eating them would lead to a bad end.

"Let's go."

Song Yang signaled to Zhang Yu beside him and turned to leave.

He led Zhang Yu around the Villa lobby again.

Most stalls were trading basic supplies—food, water, medicine, lighters, and even a few packs of opened cigarettes were being sold individually.

While there were monster materials, most were just scattered bones or shriveled fur. Like that relatively intact Night Demon arm from before, it was truly one of a kind.

Obviously, in this temporary gathering place, high-level, special "mysterious object" were extremely rare, or rather, the owners were unwilling to easily show them in such public settings.

Just then, a figure quietly approached.

The person was about thirty years old, small and thin, with a typical shifty-eyed look.

He rubbed his hands, lowered his voice, and said almost right against Song Yang's ear:

"Brother, I see you're quite generous, you don't look like an ordinary person. These things downstairs are all small-time stuff, good for trading for some food and drink, but do you want to see some real good stuff?"

Song Yang paused, turned his head to look at him, and remained calm:

"What good stuff?"

The shifty-eyed man chuckled, revealing a mouthful of yellow teeth, and glanced upstairs:

"Follow me and you'll know, I guarantee it will open your eyes, but there's an introduction fee, travel fee."

He made a gesture of rubbing fingers for money.

Song Yang took a bag of biscuits out of his pocket and handed it over.

The man took it and stuffed it into his bosom, the smile on his face becoming even more fawning:

"Got it! Brother is straightforward! Follow me!"

He led Song Yang and Zhang Yu through the crowd toward a relatively quiet staircase on the side of the Villa.

Two burly men holding axes stood at the entrance of the stairs. The shifty-eyed man was obviously a familiar face; he nodded and bowed to the two men, said a few words, and pointed at Song Yang. Only then did the two men expressionlessly make way.

After going up to the second floor, the man led them to a room door and pushed it open.

The scene inside the room made Zhang Yu slightly startled.

The room was not small, with several circles of sofas and chairs inside, and more than a dozen figures were already seated.

The shifty-eyed man pointed out two empty seats against the wall for Song Yang and Zhang Yu, then walked to the front of the room and clapped his hands, attracting everyone's attention.

"Ahem, everyone, thank you for waiting."

He cleared his throat, "The old rules: the highest bidder wins. Only hard currency accepted—food, water, medicine, weapons and ammunition are all fine! No more nonsense, the auction starts now!"

As soon as he finished speaking, a side door was pushed open, and two men escorted a "piece of cargo" out and pushed it onto the carpet in the center.

It was a woman.

Her hands and feet were tied with thick hemp rope, her mouth was gagged with a rag, her hair was disheveled, and her clothes were stained, looking very disheveled.

But even so, it was hard to hide her beautiful face and the skin that had once been carefully maintained.

Song Yang's pupils shrank slightly.

He knew this woman.

Or rather, in the world before the sun went out, almost no one didn't know her.

Yang Mi, a household name, a female celebrity who had starred in many popular movies and TV series, was active year-round in various variety shows and gala events, with tens of millions of fans on social media platforms.

The once glamorous superstar, surrounded by stars, was now being tied up and auctioned in public like an object.
