11: Chapter 11 Sarkan, the Warrior of the Salamander
It crashed.
No kidding, that's obvious.
There is only one Salamanders warrior on the entire Thunderhawk Gunship. System Introduction: Salamanders Astartes belong to one of the kindest Chapters among all Astartes.
The kindest?
"Brother Li, Brother Li, what do you think?"
"I'm watching with my eyes."
Li Pu looked at the system subtitles, also feeling somewhat puzzled. Suddenly, he thought of the Gothic horror Yang Gao had mentioned during the press conference.
Could it be that Brother Gao wants to highlight Gothic horror through warfare?
The more Li Pu thought about it, the more he felt his guess was spot on.
I really am a genius. Li Pu couldn't help but feel smug.
The warrior, whose fire had nearly gone out, let out a cough. System Introduction: This Salamanders Astartes warrior has suffered severe damage to the lungs within his two-heart, three-lung physiology, and one of his hearts has lost its function.
"Brothers, what is he doing?"
After injecting himself with Stimm-serum and adrenaline, the Salamanders warrior picked up a Reductor, preparing to extract the gene-seed of his fallen comrade.
A system introduction appeared at the right time: gene-seed is the seed produced within the body of an Astartes warrior. There are generally two—one in the neck and one in the chest cavity—and they are the key to the Chapter's continuation.
At that moment, a Krieg Soldier approached like a walking corpse.
"Guardsman, you have shown great courage, but I do not require assistance. Before I leave, there are things I must do."
With that, he raised the Reductor, aiming it at his teammate's neck to extract the gene-seed.
"Go, seek refuge quickly."
The residual consciousness of the Krieg Soldier told itself: I... cannot.
As he spoke, the Krieg Soldier charged straight at the Astartes, only to be lifted up with one hand. The Astartes took off his helmet. (Note: The Krieger here is bald, but I want to ask, are all Kriegers bald?)
At this point, more Krieg Soldiers, looking like walking corpses, began to surround the Astartes.
"Stand back!"
Seeing that his warning was ineffective, he made short work of all the Krieg Soldiers.
After dealing with all the Krieg Soldiers, he couldn't understand: Why would these Krieg Soldiers, known as the Emperor's most loyal, also betray humanity?
By the time he snapped back to his senses, the raging fire had blocked his path to recovering the gene-seeds. Helpless, he could only fail his battle-brothers and immediately gathered what usable weapons he could. Just as he was about to rush out, he heard a faint voice: "Kill... me..."
Facing the soldier's constant wailing, he walked away without looking back; halfway there, he couldn't bear it and gave this colleague the final mercy of the "Emperor."
Afterward, he fought Necron Warriors while searching for his battle-brothers. Soon, he saw countless fallen battle-brothers and Battle Sisters—the corpses everywhere made him feel he had arrived too late.
He continued searching through the ruins and finally discovered surviving humans in one area. To avoid frightening them, he proactively removed his helmet.
"Greetings."
"Brothers, why does his face look charred?"
"It's fine, brother. There's an introduction here: The Salamanders' jet-black skin comes from their gene-father, Vulkan."
"Are you... the Emperor's Angel?"
"I am."
"I understand my appearance is fierce, but this is a product of my genetic ascension, definitely not a sign of corruption. My name is Sakan."
