17: Chapter 17: Boarding Maneuver, Slaying the Chaos Space Marine
The streamer is pushing himself way too hard!
Is the streamer still there?
After a long silence, a weak voice finally came through: "Brothers, I'm not that fragile."
Chen Mo felt a throbbing pain in his temples, feeling like he wasn't himself, somewhat dazed. But looking at the traffic in the livestream room, he instantly felt it was all worth it.
"Streamer is awesome!"
"Don't forget your brothers once you get famous!"
"Congratulations, you have become official Grey Knights."
The players looked down at their power armor, wrapped up like "tin cans," and were incredibly excited.
"Brothers, I feel like I could punch out ten bulls right now!"
At that moment, a prompt popped up on the interface—"Skip the training process?"
Many players decisively clicked "Skip." The next second, their figures appeared on the deck of a massive warship.
"Recruits, this is your first mission. I do not wish for this mission to fail," the Commander's voice echoed through the comms channel. "For the Emperor!"
"For the Emperor!"
"For the Emperor!" The players' shouts rose and fell one after another.
The warship slowly started up and began to traverse the Warp. Inside the sealed cabins, many players couldn't wait to familiarize themselves with their skills and began chatting with each other.
"Brothers, I'm so curious what it looks like outside in the Warp?"
"It should be similar to a wormhole, right?"
"I don't know..."
Suddenly, the warship jolted violently, and the sound of alarms instantly tore through the cabin's peace!
"Alert! All personnel on alert!" an urgent shout came over the loudspeakers.
The crew acted immediately. A Battle-Brother Captain rushed to the Commander: "My Lord, we are under attack! A Chaos warship is firing on us and intends to ram us!"
The Commander's gaze sharpened as he turned to the players: "Recruits, your first mission is here—board the enemy warship and purge the enemy!"
At this time, a detailed description of the "Boarding Action" popped up on the players' panels.
"Holy crap, this is so cool! Who's going first?"
"The two of us will go first!" Li Pu grabbed Chen Mo beside him and volunteered.
"Alright, then Brother Li and Brother Chen will start us off!" Just as the group finished discussing, they suddenly realized the Commander had already preceded them, leaping toward the enemy ship.
Li Pu and Chen Mo were not to be outdone and activated psychic teleportation—with a flash of blue light, the two landed steadily on the enemy deck. But when they looked up, they froze on the spot: the Commander's entire right arm was actually stuck in the bulkhead!
"Lord Justiciar, what... happened to you?" Li Pu asked in shock.
"Stuck... stuck in the wall?" Chen Mo was even more dumbfounded.
The Justiciar remained calm, drawing a short blade from his waist and cutting off his own right arm with a "crack."
"What are you surprised about? It's no big deal."
Li Pu and Chen Mo looked at each other, their hearts full of shock: You call cutting off an arm a "small matter"? You're truly ruthless!
The Justiciar naturally had no time to bother with their internal monologues. He picked up the Nemesis Force Sword from the ground, gave them a look, and said, "Follow me!" as he led the charge.
Along the way, countless twisted Fallen and Cursed ones swarmed from all parts of the ship, frantically obstructing their path. The Justiciar swept his gaze and gave Li Pu and Chen Mo a look. Understanding immediately, the two pulled out krak grenades, pulled the pins, and threw them—"Boom! Boom!" Two loud explosions sent the Chaos cultists in the lead flying.
By now, subsequent Grey Knights reinforcements were also boarding. Once they gained a foothold, these new recruits charged like wild horses. Psychic Lightning constantly flashed in their hands, and their power swords never stopped hacking at the Cursed ones and traitors who had betrayed the Empire, as they shouted.
"For the Emperor!"
Heavy footsteps drew closer. From the shadows, a figure covered in oozing pustules and wearing rusted power armor slowly emerged.
"So you are the culprit behind this attack," the Justiciar said coldly, gripping his Nemesis sword.
The figure grinned, revealing a mouth full of fangs—it was a member of the Night Lords! He arrogantly raised his chin, and from the shadows behind him, a dozen more bloated Chaos Space Marines, looking like moving pustules, emerged one after another.
At this point, the game's live chat had already exploded:
"Brothers, on my count of three, two, one, let's all use our ultimate moves!"
"Okay! We'll follow Brother Li's lead!"
Li Pu immediately deployed orders in the team channel: "Old Chen, in a moment, those of us without grenades will concentrate on releasing Psychic Lightning for suppression; brothers with grenades, aim at those Chaos Space Marines and throw them together!"
"Don't worry, are you still worried about how I handle things?" Chen Mo replied immediately.
"Three—"
"Two—"
"One—Fire!"
Before the words even faded, countless bolts of blue Psychic Lightning erupted from the players' palms. Simultaneously, a dozen krak grenades and Psychic Grenades arched through the air, accurately slamming into the cluster of Chaos warriors. The entire cabin was instantly flooded with blinding blue light, leaving even the Justiciar stunned; he hadn't expected this group of recruits to be so "hardcore."
The Chaos warriors opposite were even more caught off guard—the searing sensation of the Psychic Lightning caused them immense pain, and the shockwaves from the grenade explosions knocked them to the ground. The pustules on their bodies exploded one after another under the high heat and impact, splashing thick, rotten pus everywhere, and a pungent stench instantly filled the space.
The Justiciar, in turn, stared at all this, dumbfounded.
"Sir, everything is resolved."
Li Pu, Chen Mo, and all the players who had launched the attack now stood tall, awaiting orders.
The Justiciar relaxed his stiff body and said, "You... did a good job."
Next, what they had to do was continue deeper, striking at the heart for a decapitation strike.
The group faced constant obstacles along the way. The crackle of Psychic Lightning and the bullets of the traitors intertwined, burning the traitors into charcoal; the ship also shook violently from time to time, as if it would disintegrate at any moment.
"Recruits, our brothers outside are also fighting hard! Next, we need to step it up and decapitate the ones who attacked our Grey Knights warship!"
The Grey Knights collectively raised the Storm Bolters on their left arms and began strafing the rebels.
The rebels were not to be outdone, using their familiarity with the ship to counterattack the Grey Knights. They even brought in a Leman Russ Tank, blocking the warship's corridor and firing frantically—for a moment, it actually pinned the Grey Knights down.
Until a Grey Knight picked up a Psycannon and destroyed the Leman Russ Tank.
Everyone immediately drew their nemesis power swords.
"For the Emperor!"
"For the Emperor!"
"For the Emperor!"
The Grey Knights charged forward recklessly, Psychic Lightning flashing around each of them. The moment they contacted the enemy, the lightning exploded violently; the sounds of explosions and screams were incessant. Amidst the hail of bullets, the Grey Knights continuously cut down the "Enemies of the Emperor!"
