82: Chapter 82: The Battlefield of the Flesh-Tearers and the Blood Knights.

Before the Battle of Baal erupted, Commander Dante deployed his 29,000 Astartes in batches across starships and three planets.

Among them, Commander Dante placed the Flesh Tearers and the Blood Knights together in the star chain region, keeping them away from the other Chapters.

This was because these two Chapters were more brutal and bloodthirsty than the others.

When they fell into madness, they were highly likely to harm their allies.

The Blood Knights Chapter, in particular, was sinking deeper and deeper into the path of the curse.

They had gone even further than the Flesh Tearers, and they had been declared traitors and renegades by the government of Terra.

They had completely embraced their own genetic flaws.

Therefore, Commander Dante deliberately stationed these two Chapters in the same location.

He hoped that they would maximize damage to the enemy while minimizing casualties among friendly forces.

Although Flesh Tearers Chapter Master Seth had no desire to associate with the Blood Knights, those blood brothers who had completely crossed the line, Chapter Master Yor of the Blood Knights believed the two Chapters were of the same kind and insisted on stationing his Chapter not far from the Flesh Tearers.

The purpose of all the units dispersed across the two moons, including them, was to draw fire and share the pressure of the main planet's battlefield.

Therefore, only a few thousand Space Marines were deployed on Baal Primus and Baal Secundus.

The Chapters stationed on the two moons understood the Commander's intentions, and they readily accepted this suicide mission.

When the battle on the main planet began, the battle on the two moons also commenced.

The fire of the battlefield almost illuminated the entire sky as the Tyranid Swarm braved the artillery fire to charge the positions of the Space Marines.

The monks of the Flesh Tearers could hardly hide their excitement.

For a long time, they had been restraining their desires under the admonitions of their Chapter Master.

But now, on this battlefield from which there was no return, they could finally release their restraint.

"Brothers, we no longer need to restrain ourselves. For the Emperor, for Sanguinius."

Chapter Master Seth charged into the heart of the Tyranid Swarm.

He began to slaughter everything in his path as the roars of war beasts and warriors echoed through the sky, and they engaged in frenzied killing while corpses and blood from both sides piled up on the ground.

Amidst the buzzing of Chainswords, they slaughtered the Tyranid Swarm like tireless machines.

Only a small number of monks with extraordinary willpower remained guarding the walls of the fortress.

"Brothers, we are truly cursed. If we get grabbed by the Flesh Tearers or the Blood Knights and have our necks snapped to have our blood drunk, there will be nowhere to cry."

"Count me in for being afraid, brothers."

The mortal conscripts and the still-sane Flesh Tearers on the walls provided long-range fire support.

After a period of bloody slaughter, Chapter Master Seth gradually calmed down.

He looked dazedly at the vacuum zone he had carved out around himself, and then at his battle-brothers who had already fallen into a frenzy of slaughter.

He understood that this could not go on.

"Retreat!"

Upon hearing the Chapter Master's order, the Flesh Tearers, although deep in their hearts they desperately longed to die in battle before the double curse deep within their genes could take hold, understood that their current mission was to draw fire for the main planet's battlefield.

They sought a glorious death, but they understood that their current mission was to draw fire for the main planet's battlefield.

In contrast, the Blood Knights on the other side had completely embraced the Red Thirst and the Black Rage.

Chapter Master Yor turned his troops into a sharp blade that stabbed straight into the enemy ranks, slaughtering them and inflicting significant losses on the Tyranid Swarm.

But at the same time, the mortal soldiers they had deliberately kept by their side became their rations.
