60: Chapter 60: The Decline of the Eldar Empire and the Birth of Slaanesh.
Fifty-nine million years? I thought history only spanned six million. In over fifty million years, one could develop from the Stone Age all the way to interstellar travel.
Exactly. Fifty million years ago, humanity hadn't even been born yet.
But what was that crisis? To think it could change such a peak Aeldari Empire and even the entire Galaxy.
Fifty million years is enough for a race to rise from insignificance to its zenith, and enough to fall from its zenith back to insignificance. Prosperity leads to decline; things reverse when they reach their extremes. This is the natural order of things, and the Aeldari Empire is currently experiencing it.
Fifty million years. So many things can change. It is enough for the once-noble Aeldari to fall from grace into depravity. In these fifty million years, they almost ruled the entire Galaxy. All races prostrated themselves at their feet.
However, the Aeldari's long lifespans and their arrogance had already foreshadowed their end. Once they no longer needed to labor and began pursuing extreme sensory and spiritual indulgence, they inevitably drifted toward decline. Various cults began to rise, the race became divided, and its members became corrupt and depraved.
Sigh. Life springs from adversity, and death comes from ease. History has always been thus.
Sigh. As one finishes their performance, another takes the stage. It should be about time for us humans to step up.
Right, right. I really want to see that man called the Emperor.
Thus, under extreme sensory indulgence and pleasure, the energy of The Warp began to become extremely unstable. Finally, fueled by the Aeldari priestess Hason, the atmosphere of debauched revelry was pushed across the entire Aeldari Empire...
The Aeldari, possessing extremely high psychic talent and sensory perception, saw arrogance, pleasure, and pain intertwine during their final collective carnival of debauchery. At almost the same moment, all Aeldari fell into madness. Amidst cheer after cheer—the Chaos God Slaanesh, The Dark Prince, Lord of Pleasure, God of Excess, Slaanesh, Lord of Ecstasy, Lord of Senses—Slaanesh was thus born.
The very moment Slaanesh was born, a loud cry caused a rift merging with The Warp to tear open across the Aeldari's beautiful homeworld, a world with three beautiful moons. Future generations would call it the Eye of Terror.
Sigh, I didn't expect this ending.
Mhm, I suppose they deserved it.
This also teaches us a lesson: life springs from adversity, and death comes from ease.
During the final collective revelry of the Ancient Aeldari, a tiny minority of individuals woke up amidst the carnival and fled the empire aboard Aeldari trade Craftworlds.
At least there were some smart ones; if not for them, damn, the entire Aeldari race would be gone.
Sigh, this is probably the ending they deserved. Life springs from adversity, and death comes from ease. Since they chose indulgence and pleasure, they must pay the price for their actions.
Due to the Aeldari's prior indulgence and pleasure, they abandoned their faith in the Aeldari gods. This left the Aeldari gods extremely weak, allowing Slaanesh to easily slay them. Only Cegorach the Laughing God, Khaine the Bloody-Handed, and Isha the Goddess of Healing survived.
