86: Chapter 86: The Reappearance of San Gileno, and the Appearance of the Cursed Legion.
At this moment, they no longer deliberately suppressed the thirst for blood and the pursuit of slaughter that they usually ignored. They let their rage pour out upon the Tyranids.
Commander Dante was like a sports car with all limiters removed, racing across the battlefield and killing every Tyranid Warrior that tried to stop him.
Accompanying the slaughter by Commander Dante and his men, the mortals in the fortress who had not followed Commander Dante provided long-range support using artillery that was undamaged or only lightly damaged.
However, as the fighting intensified, they encountered the Tyranids becoming increasingly coordinated. A powerful synapse creature was constantly attempting to restore the connection between the Tyranid Swarm and the Hive Mind.
As the warriors pushed deeper, there were fewer and fewer people around Dante. Just as Dante was about to succumb to the Black Rage, he suddenly saw that legendary warrior again.
"Brother Chen, look, oh my god! Sanguinius has arrived."
Clad in golden armor with wings unfurled, Sanguinius descended onto the battlefield. He then swung the blade in his hand toward the ground; where the sword pointed, flames erupted from thin air, and the Legion of the Damned, surrounded by fire, appeared from within the flames.
Seeing these warriors emerging from the flames, their bodies wreathed in hellfire, the players were clearly somewhat shocked, but more than that, they were excited.
"Warriors from hell, playing that card, are we?"
"Praise the Emperor."
It was unclear who started it, but by the time everyone realized what was happening, they all shouted in unison: "Praise the Emperor."
Commander Dante, who had already fallen into a faint Black Rage, seemed to notice Sanguinius pointing something out to him from the air. Dante advanced in that direction while dispatching the Tyranid Warriors that blocked his path.
Finally, Commander Dante discovered the target they had been searching for so desperately. It was an incredibly massive and powerful Tyranid synapse creature. The Commander had never seen such a unique Tyranid Overlord before.
In its eyes, there was a sense of intelligence, a feeling as if Dante was nothing more than a child who had never grown up in front of it.
The next second, both sides moved. The Swarm Overlord's massive body erupted with unimaginable speed, launching a lethal and swift attack against Commander Dante. Dante dodged the attack and countered, but it was easily parried by the Swarm Overlord.
The players watching this scene from afar couldn't help but break into a cold sweat for Dante.
"Dangerous, too dangerous. If Dante had been even a second slower just now, the consequences would have been unimaginable."
"Look, everyone. What is that?"
Yang Gao rushed to the Commander at a speed impossible for an ordinary person to imagine, nodded at him, and immediately used his psychic powers to restrain the Hive Overlord, creating a moment of opportunity for the Commander.
On the battlefield, Commander Dante used his relatively nimble body and the jump pack to charge toward the Hive Overlord.
He used his melta pistol to counterattack, and after several exchanges, Dante successfully inflicted damage on the Hive Overlord. However, it seemed not to notice, continuing to counter Dante's attacks.
Just as the Hive Overlord and Dante were locked in a fierce struggle, a mistake by Dante allowed the Hive Overlord to seize the opportunity and destroy Dante's jump pack. Very soon, the Commander's armor would become a burden, rendering him unable to move.
"For the Emperor, for Sanguinius, for humanity."
Dante lunged fiercely at the Hive Overlord and inflicted damage upon it. But he was also impaled by the incoming bone sword.
The Hive Mind, typically known for its efficiency and rationality, did not immediately kill the threat that was Dante, but instead seemed to be admiring him with an arrogant demeanor.
