87: Chapter 87: The Battle of Baal Ends, New Model Space Marines?
At that moment, Dante seized the opportunity. He raised the Perdition Bolter in his hand, aimed it at the Swarmlord's head, and pulled the trigger, delivering the final blow.
With a bang, the Tyranid Swarm's massive body collapsed on cue. The very moment the Swarmlord fell, the Tyranid Swarm—like the last straw crushed by a giant tree—descended into chaotic disarray, scattering like birds and beasts.
A flash of white light appeared before all the players. As always, the players abruptly appeared in the game lobby, and the animation began to play.
In the scene, Dante floated above the void. Suddenly, a holy light manifested, subsequently transforming into an angel with two wings of immense holiness. This person was none other than the Archangel Sanguinius.
"Brother Li, Brother Chen. Is this Sanguinius?"
"Hearing this, both men stared intently at the screen. They unconsciously shifted their gazes to that holy phantom, their throats bobbing as they swallowed involuntarily."
Dante felt his eyelids were as heavy as a thousand pounds. He tried hard to open his eyes, but he couldn't no matter what. Until a voice came through. Upon hearing this voice, the Commander's body trembled involuntarily.
"Luis Dante, my most diligent child, my greatest child. Your journey has not yet ended. You cannot fall like this."
Hearing Sanguinius say that, Dante's tone became anxious and urgent.
"No, Father, you cannot do that. I am already tired enough. I want release."
Sanguinius made no reply, but continued, "Child, you still have an unfinished mission. I am sorry, I cannot take you with me."
"No, no, no! Father, I beg you, I beg you."
In the player lobby, the players couldn't help but wipe away tears for Dante.
"Wuwuwu! Dante is too miserable. He has worked for 1,500 years, and he is still forced to continue fighting for the Empire."
"Listen to Dante's desperate plea. Death really is a release in the Warhammer universe."
By the time the Commander opened his eyes, he had already returned to the battlefield. On the battlefield, there were many strange Space Marines. These Space Marines were even taller than other Space Marines. Even Dante, who had lived for 1,500 years, had never seen such Space Marines. However, looking at their paint scheme, they seemed to be Ultramarines.
"Are these new Space Marines? They look so tall, I feel like they are two or three times taller than normal Space Marines."
"Not necessarily, this might just be a visual effect."
Dante refused the Apothecary's support. When he tried to move, he noticed Captain Calaran, who looked like he had aged a dozen years.
"Calaran, what exactly is going on?"
"Chapter Master, I cannot explain it clearly. It would be best if you went to see this miracle yourself."
Dante continued walking and discovered Sicarius. Under his guidance, he passed through layers of Ultramarines guards. Along the way, Dante anticipated countless possibilities. Several times, he wanted to ask Sicarius something, but Sicarius only smiled without saying a word.
Finally, they arrived outside a door guarded by two Imperial Custodians.
"Brothers, what is that? A new Chapter? Interesting."
"I feel like this oppressive presence could take on 10 Space Marines."
Dante was very confused. These Imperial Custodians, who usually stayed deep within the Terra Imperial Palace and had not appeared for tens of thousands of years, had actually shown up. And who could be worthy of being protected by the Imperial Custodians? Thinking of this, Dante's heart rate accelerated, and his breathing became rapid. But what he didn't realize was that the path he had walked had long been stained red with blood.
