3: Chapter 3: Kadia Stands Firm.
The Sergeant picked up a laser gun, checked it, swapped the ammunition, and handed it to the Civilian.
"Take it, Civilian. You must learn to protect yourself."
The two of them moved through the trenches and suddenly encountered a dying soldier.
"Cadia... stands... firm..."
"Cadia stands!" After the Sergeant responded, he picked up a laser gun and gave the soldier a quick end.
"Cadia... Sergeant, I heard that Cadia was destroyed?"
"As long as we are here, Cadia stands! Cadia stands!"
At this moment, a discussion broke out in the bullet chat:
- Brothers, why do I feel a sense of tragic heroism?
- Brothers, it seems Cadia is the homeland of this unit. Based on what they said, it must have been destroyed.
- Fighting even after their home is destroyed, how tragic and heroic!
- By the way, am I the only one who cares about who their enemy is?
- Just keep watching.
While the two were moving through the trenches, the Sergeant stopped. A group of soldiers holding laser guns were waiting tensely in the trench.
"Brothers, what are they doing?"
The bullet chat was surprisingly quiet at this moment; no one answered.
Suddenly, a Tyranid lunged in for an ambush.
"Fire!"
Countless laser beams rained down on the Tyranid like raindrops, but the attack was like a light drizzle to it. One soldier after another fell in pools of blood, but for every soldier who fell, countless Cadian soldiers rushed to take their place, eventually wearing the Tyranid down to its death.
At this moment, a Cadian veteran with only half his body left called out to the Civilian. The Civilian thought the Sergeant would give the veteran a quick end, but the Sergeant stepped forward, checked the laser gun, and replaced the ammunition.
"Civilian, come give me a hand." The two of them helped the veteran to the firing port.
"May your souls return to the Golden Throne. Cadia stands!"
"May you return to the Golden Throne!"
The bullet chat was now buzzing with excitement:
- Brothers, this is so tragic yet so hot-blooded.
- Sob, this is so touching.
- By the way, what is the Golden Throne?
- Sounds like it's made of gold.
Cadian soldiers were fighting all along the way. Following behind the Sergeant, the Civilian had seen so many Cadian soldiers who did not fear death that he was unconsciously infected by this emotion.
- Brothers, what exactly has this unit been through? Why are they so fearless of death?
- I don't know, but I think they must be fighting for the faith in their hearts.
If Yang Gao saw the discussion in the bullet chat, he would probably give a thumbs up and say, "Spot on."
Just as the two were about to finish delivering the message—
"Watch out!"
A Spore had drifted behind the Civilian at some point, while the Civilian's eyes were filled with the anticipation of finishing the delivery. The Sergeant shoved the Civilian away, but he himself was blown into a mist of blood by the explosion.
The Civilian stared blankly at the scene.
- Holy shit, brothers...
- Why? They were so close to making it back safely...
The discussion in the bullet chat grew more intense.
When the Civilian finally delivered the intelligence to the Command Post, the man in charge opened it.
"Cadia..."
"Wasn't it destroyed?"
"Who knows? Just a pack of stray dogs."
The three Commanders burst out laughing.
Seeing this, the Civilian simply turned around calmly and looked at the battlefield engulfed in artillery fire. With every step he took, he became more determined.
"That's right, Cadia stands!"
His figure was gradually drowned out by the sound of cannon fire.
It wasn't until the screening ended that everyone snapped back to their senses. After a deathly silence, a frenzy erupted in the bullet chat—
Cadia stands!
Cadia stands!
These words swept across almost the entire bullet chat.
