25: Chapter 25: Tricking Players into Producing Ammunition
"It turns out we misunderstood, Brother Gao."
"Brother Gao, don't worry, as long as there are enough raw materials, we'll make our own equipment."
"That's right, that's right."
Yang Gao's mouth curled up slightly; the fish had taken the bait. He then put on a troubled expression: "But the factory has been mostly destroyed. Sigh, never mind, I won't make things difficult for you brothers."
"Brother Gao, are you looking down on us!"
"Exactly, exactly, let us show you what we can do!"
The players swarmed into the factory, starting to craft equipment for themselves. The factory began to operate, and because the players were full of energy, equipment was rolling off the line one after another, and bullets were being produced frantically as if they were free.
Yang Gao lay comfortably in the former administrator's room, listening to the sounds of the factory operating—it was so beautiful.
Just then, a guard ran in: "My lord, people from the Hive City have arrived, hoping to negotiate with you."
"Finally here." Yang Gao thought to himself, finally here. But outwardly, he said calmly: "Oh, let him in."
Soon, the guard brought in a middle-aged man wearing the uniform of the Astra Militarum, the medals on his clothes seemingly telling of his great achievements.
After a long silence, the middle-aged man spoke first: "I hope you will stop the riots; a more terrifying enemy is coming. We should work together to resist the enemy, not engage in infighting here."
"Fine."
"I..." The middle-aged man wanted to say more, but he was stunned when he heard Yang Gao's words. He had prepared a lot of things to say to persuade Yang Gao, but at this moment, they seemed superfluous.
"I agree to join you in defending against the Tyranids."
"How did you know?"
"You don't need to know. You only need to know that I am standing on the same front line as you; we are in the same boat."
"Then please defend the Eastern War Zone well. We will not provide you with any troops, but we can provide weapons and ammunition."
"How many people do you have left?"
"700,000."
"700,000, 7 positions, 100,000 for each position, that's enough. Or are you saying you are wary of me?"
"It's not like that, listen to me..."
"Enough, don't talk to me anymore. I only have one requirement: ammunition and weapons must be given to us."
"You can rest assured about that."
After some negotiation, the middle-aged man prepared to leave.
"A word of advice: watch your rear. They have a unit type that specializes in attacking supply lines. Be careful, don't let others sneak into your base."
"Thank you for the reminder."
Yang Gao tried to estimate the arrival time of the Tyranids in his heart.
Factory.
"Old Li, I'm about to die of exhaustion, take over my shift."
"Get lost, I don't even have enough production for myself."
The two began their daily bickering.
"Brothers, what do I need to pay attention to when going to the battlefield? I'm a newbie."
"Remember to turn the pain sensitivity to the lowest. Don't let yourself be pained to death, you know?"
"Okay, thank you, Streamer."
Suddenly, a player looked at Li Pu, a guess forming in his mind.
"Are you that Li Pu who ran for a day and a night in the Vraks campaign?"
Everyone gathered around when they heard this.
"Brothers, it really is him!"
"Streamer, Streamer, how did you feel at that time?"
"Yeah, Streamer, tell us about your experience."
Li Pu was grinning from ear to ear at this moment. He looked at Chen Mo with a provocative gaze, as if saying, "See, I'm just better than you."
Chen Mo curled his lips, thinking to himself, "What's there to be angry about? You just got lucky."
