11: Chapter 11 Shoe Ghost

Chen Mo did not take off his white coat; he lay directly on the bed, hiding the bone-scraping knife under his pillow.

He closed his eyes and fell into a deep sleep.

Of course, Chen Mo did not take off his shoes.

Nor did he turn off the light.

The bed was very soft. When one stretched out completely to lie down, Chen Mo had an illusion.

It was as if the bed had come alive; the edges all bulged up, firmly wrapping the person sleeping inside.

It was like a crib full of fences all around.

Only the foot area facing the door remained flat as before.

It seemed that if someone pushed the door open in the middle of the night, it would be very convenient for them to grab his feet.

Chen Mo was very sleepy. The moment his head rested on the pillow, it felt as if the back of his head had been struck by a blunt object. The world spun, and his vision blurred.

The light extinguished instantly, and he couldn't see his own fingers.

At this moment, all he could rely on was his sense of touch and hearing.

All he could hear was the thumping of his heartbeat and his own irregular breathing.

In his groggy state, Chen Mo felt as if he had fallen asleep.

But with his strong sense of vigilance, he still kept himself 1% awake.

Time passed second by second.

He didn't know what time it was.

The door was pushed open a tiny crack. The lights in the Hospital corridor were also completely off; not a sliver of light appeared in this world.

Inside the door crack, there was complete darkness, and then, a pair of human eyes appeared vertically in the gap.

One could imagine this night owl who didn't sleep in the middle of the night was tilting its neck and lying on the door frame, peeking at Chen Mo inside.

Seeing that Chen Mo was sleeping soundly, the other party didn't open the door little by little like a cautious thief.

Instead, it violently slammed the Dormitory door open.

With a loud "Bang!", the door hit the back of the wall and even rebounded slightly.

A giant shadow stood outside, and then it walked in, one step, two steps.

If it were a person wearing shoes walking, no matter how quiet the movement was, under the pressure of the soles of the feet against the soles of the shoes, the shoes would make a subtle squeezing sound.

It might even cause a "squeak" sound like a duck due to the excessive rebound between the soles and the feet.

However, the visitor was silent; only the huge shadow moved forward step by step.

A cold chill came from the soles of his feet, traveling up along Chen Mo's calves, sliding over his chest, and surging onto his face along his chin.

Chen Mo's hair followed the movement.

"Hoo..."

Chen Mo felt his body turn cold, couldn't help but shiver, and rolled over to continue sleeping.

A palm reached under the pillow.

The shadow hesitated for a moment, then continued its action.

Chen Mo smelled a fishy stench, and at the same time, he felt long, thin strands of hair sliding along his cheek.

"Get lost! You dead rat."

Chen Mo raised his hand and slapped the shadow. With a loud "Pa!", it was exceptionally resonant.

The shadow jerked its head up.

"Hmm?!"

It was a bit stunned by the hit. Looking at Chen Mo again, it found that this guy was still fast asleep.

"Could it be that this guy has a habit of sleepwalking?"

The shadow returned to the position of Chen Mo's feet, then reached out and grabbed Chen Mo's ankles.

Chen Mo's body was dragged by these ghost hands, his body sliding downward bit by bit.

However, just as the shoes were about to leave the bed board, the shadow found it couldn't drag him any further.

Looking down, it discovered that Chen Mo was actually sleeping with his shoes on.

"This guy really takes the game rules seriously."

After a moment of silence, the shadow let out a sigh.

It had no choice but to let go of Chen Mo's ankles and left with some regret.

Chen Mo was also a warm-hearted person. Since a friend had come, he must send them off with a good kick.

His calf suddenly lifted, and with one kick, he knocked the shadow over!

The shadow groaned in pain, covering its mouth, and immediately rushed out the door.

With a "Clang!", the door closed again.

The feeling of being surrounded by a cold aura disappeared without a trace along with the departure of the uninvited guest.

The door crack opened again, and the shadow hid behind the door with a look of Fear on its face, staring at Chen Mo there.

[If you are discovered by the Shoe Ghost that you are not truly sleeping but are in a conscious state]

[Then what will be taken away will not be as simple as a pair of feet!]

Chen Mo looked at this prompt and repeated it silently in his heart.

"Oh my, hmm~ hmm~"

"Students, you must keep your legs high during the kicking exercise, follow the teacher and do it together."

"1! 2! 3!"

"Kick!"

As he spoke, Chen Mo performed the kicking action again.

"Little Wang, can't I, this dance teacher, control you? Believe it or not, I'll call your parents!"

Hearing that Chen Mo's persona was a dance teacher who often taught students kicking exercises, the Shoe Ghost hiding outside the room immediately completed the logical self-consistency in its brain.

It felt that Chen Mo must be sleepwalking, not pretending to sleep.

It observed from outside the door for a while longer, and when it saw Chen Mo kick so hard that his crotch split open, the Shoe Ghost finally left.

Because every time it saw Chen Mo perform the kicking action, it felt as if its chin was being electrocuted.

Before this foot-loving ghost appeared, Chen Mo had indeed fallen into a deep sleep.

His brain was empty, and there was nothing outside his heart.

But the moment the door opened, the ghost walked in.

No! It should be said that the moment it floated in, Chen Mo woke up subconsciously.

This seemed to be an instinct of his, an instinct beyond the scope of normal human beings.

It was like... a special telepathy generated when encountering one of his own kind!

The next day, 8:00 AM.

The Hospital opened for business again.

Just as expected, after walking out of the Dormitory door, it was still endless night.

There was no sun here, and the day was also night.

When passing a window of the Hospital, there were ghost shadows passing by outside.

Because his stamina value hadn't been consumed much, Chen Mo skipped breakfast.

Su Qing also walked out of the Dormitory at this time.

The two looked at each other.

Then, Chen Mo's gaze dropped 45 degrees to look at Su Qing's feet.

Sure enough, she was very obedient. The basketball shoes were still on her feet.

However, unlike Chen Mo...

Su Qing had clear scratch marks on her ankles, while on his side...

Chen Mo rolled up his trouser legs, and there wasn't even a broken patch of skin.

"Strange..." Chen Mo scratched his head.

[Your Patient is waiting in the diagnosis room. Please head to the diagnosis room for treatment as soon as possible, within a 5-minute time limit, otherwise it will affect the mission rating.]

Seeing the mission prompt, Chen Mo set off immediately.

Su Qing also hurriedly followed.

Pushing open the door of the diagnosis room, Chen Mo adjusted his breathing and said with a slightly apologetic tone: "Sorry to keep you waiting."

"I didn't sleep very well last night."

Hearing Chen Mo's words, the Patient sitting in front of the diagnosis table seemed to have been electrocuted.

Her body couldn't stop trembling, and she even reached out to cover her chin.

Chen Mo was a little puzzled, frowning deeply.

Sitting in front of the diagnosis table, looking at the disheveled woman opposite him who would occasionally avoid his gaze, he said with some surprise: "Is it you?"
