52: Chapter 52 A Terrifying Gaze

A "triangle" symbol appeared in the video, and the video ended.

Chen Mo really hadn't expected the plot point about a doll coming to life to appear so early.

And it was a cute brown teddy bear, no less.

It wasn't the type that directly possessed objects like Annabelle or Mary Shaw.

Chen Mo immediately set off, blue light coalescing in his hand as he gripped the bone-scraping knife.

There was no one else home right now; it was the perfect opportunity to kill the anomaly.

Chen Mo pushed open Alice's bedroom door again.

He searched around but found no trace of the teddy bear.

Just as Chen Mo crouched down to look under Alice's bed, he didn't notice something.

From behind the bedroom door frame, a furry face peeked out, silently staring at him!

Chen Mo's perception was very sharp, and he immediately sensed something.

He quickly turned his head, his tone unfriendly.

"Who's there?!"

Chen Mo looked toward the bedroom door.

Although it was only for a split second, his eyes had indeed caught the image of a furry hand quickly retracting behind the door after being spotted.

Chen Mo chased after it in a few steps, slowing down as he approached the door frame.

With his back pressed against the wall, he tilted his head and peeked out.

Looking into the hallway, Chen Mo didn't see anyone.

The hallway was terrifyingly quiet.

Even though it was daytime, because of that uninvited guest from just now...

...the entire interior of the Villa had become somewhat dim.

It was as if a layer of invisible black mist was clinging to the surface of Chen Mo's pupils.

It wasn't that the world had turned dark, but rather that Chen Mo himself was under some kind of influence.

Chen Mo leaned his body out completely and crouched down.

He checked the floor for footprints.

"This teddy bear is too light, and it's made of plush cotton, so it wouldn't leave any footprints at all."

Chen Mo stood back up, remaining fully focused, and continued walking toward the next room.

Before leaving, Chen Mo closed Alice's bedroom door.

And he wedged a Threading the Needle in the door gap.

If Bob was secretly watching him right now and wanted to return to Alice's room, Chen Mo would be able to catch it on the spot the moment the door was opened.

Chen Mo didn't notice that Bob was actually crawling on the ceiling right above his head.

Seeing Chen Mo's figure depart, Bob slid its furry limbs, crawling along the ceiling like a spider.

Until Chen Mo disappeared from the second floor.

Only then did Bob leap down from the ceiling and sneakily run to the front of Alice's bedroom door.

When this guy ran, it had a built-in cute sound effect for its footsteps.

However, what it was doing wasn't so cute.

Bob chuckled, cursing Chen Mo for being such a foolish human.

It reached out and tore the stitches on its back, pulling out a pair of scissors from inside.

It pushed open Alice's bedroom door and walked inside.

Bob wanted to repeat what happened last night, cutting the Threading the Needle that Chen Mo had left behind to prepare for its next plan.

Originally, it wanted to use ordinary thread, but that would leave stitching marks.

It had to admire the thread Chen Mo used; it was tough, transparent, and simply the most perfect stitching tool in the world.

Bob entered Alice's bedroom and first drew all the curtains.

Then, it pulled open Alice's nightstand and took out a flashlight from inside.

It was Alice's best playmate, and it knew everything about her.

It aimed the flashlight at the bedroom floor.

Yesterday, when Chen Mo entered Alice's room, it had been lying on the bed, watching the whole time as Chen Mo set up those perfect threads.

As the light passed through the cabinet and the head of the bed, lines of thread arranged along the floor appeared before its eyes.

Bob's crimson eyes curved into the shape of an inverted triangle, and the corners of its mouth curled up slightly.

"Hehe."

It chuckled, reached out and grabbed a few wires, then raised the scissors with its other hand.

"Sam, you are very smart, but in front of me, you're still just a clown."

"You would never guess my disguise. I am a cute teddy bear, and also the role most easily overlooked."

Indeed, if Chen Mo weren't a lurker in the Management Group...

...he really would have been spun around by this little bear, Bob, especially since his daughter often kept it by her side.

The suspect was clearly right under his nose, yet in reality, it was a thousand miles away.

Just as the scissors were about to cut the Threading the Needle once again...

...the bedroom door was suddenly pushed open.

This time, Chen Mo's hands were empty, and he was scratching his head, muttering incessantly.

"Damn, did I leave my car keys here at Alice's place?"

"Hey! Why are the curtains drawn? How strange."

Bob once again disguised itself as an innocent teddy bear, lying quietly on the floor with its limbs spread out.

When it saw Chen Mo quickly cross in front of the bed, walk to the balcony, and rip the curtains open...

...cold sweat was about to break out on Bob's forehead.

It was clearly the anomaly, yet right now it had to pretend to be an ordinary teddy bear.

And it felt very thrilling; the roles were reversed at this moment.

It had become the one playing hide-and-seek, while Chen Mo had become the judge.

In its heart, it kept repeating: "I am a teddy bear, I am just a teddy bear."

"Don't pay attention to me, absolutely do not look at me!"

Chen Mo walked back and came to Alice's bedside.

He pretended to reach out and rummage through his daughter's bed for the car keys.

"Damn it, where on earth did they go? I remember clearly dropping them somewhere around here!"

Bob couldn't help but frown, silently complaining in its heart.

"Fuck! You idiot, did your wife walk to work today?"

"Is your memory that of an old geezer? The car has already been driven away, brother. Can you hurry up and leave? Stop staying here!"

But Chen Mo seemed to be stubborn, simply refusing to leave.

Until the rustling of the search stopped.

One of Chen Mo's feet stepped directly onto Bob.

"Damn it! What the hell are you trying to do?! My handsome bear face!"

Rage surged in Bob's heart.

It thought this was just an unintentional act by Chen Mo, so it endured the stomp.

Who knew that Chen Mo not only didn't move his foot afterward...

...but instead lifted his leg again and stomped on Bob several more times repeatedly.

He stomped so hard its cotton was about to burst out.

"Damn you, Sam, I'll show you tonight!" Bob gritted its teeth.

"Huh! Why didn't Alice take this teddy bear with her?"

Bob's expression at that moment was sharp-toothed and fanged, but Chen Mo's movements were so fast that he didn't give it any time to prepare.

He suddenly moved his foot away and then lowered his head to examine it.

Bob's expression immediately changed back to a smiling little bear, even though its face was covered in scars at that moment.

But it still had to keep smiling.

Its eyes, which had been slanted, were also forced to look straight ahead.

"Sam, you bastard, what exactly do you want to do?"

"I was a beat slow in changing my expression just now; I hope Sam didn't see it."

"It shouldn't be; Sam is a weakling with kidney deficiency, his reaction time is always half a beat slower than a normal person."

Bob was still fantasizing about Chen Mo's stupidity.

Who knew that the next second!

It suddenly felt its waist tighten, and then its body was lifted off the ground, suspended in the air.

Then it felt the most terrifying moment of its life!

Chen Mo's hand gripped it tightly, the man's and the bear's eyes only a few centimeters apart.

Cold sweat broke out on Bob's forehead again.

It desperately wanted to look away; it didn't want to meet Chen Mo's gaze at all.

Those eyes were filled with confusion, and even more so, with intense killing intent.
