48: Chapter 48 Alice's Friends

Right under Alice's bed, that pale ghostly hand reached out once more, grabbing the teddy bear on Alice's bed.

Then, it silently retracted its palm, disappearing along with the teddy bear.

Alice's feet stepped backward, and she quickly ran back to her bed.

She jumped onto her bed in one motion, wrapping herself tightly in her quilt.

"This is all fake, this is all fake, I'm just having a nightmare!" Alice reminded herself repeatedly.

The quilt huddled on the bed trembled. An inexplicable force struck from above, pulling Alice directly out of the quilt.

The quilt just hovered in mid-air like a flying magic carpet, suspended in the air.

The surrounding furniture.

Cabinets, tables, and chests all began to shake violently in place uncontrollably, as if an earthquake were happening!

Especially the chests and cabinets, items that could hold things, shook particularly violently, as if some terrifying thing at any moment wanted to push open the shackles and crawl out from inside.

The force suddenly disappeared inexplicably, and the quilt fell from above, landing on Alice.

After a moment of silence, Alice released her hands from holding her head.

She lifted the quilt a little and poked her head out.

She looked around, but didn't find any terrifying scenes.

"Bob, where did Bob go?"

Alice's palms felt back and forth on the bed, but she couldn't find her teddy bear.

Bob was her most trusted good friend, accompanying her to sleep every night, and also Alice's guardian.

Searching the bed yielded no results, so Alice jumped off the bed.

Borrowing the faint moonlight, she searched for Bob's figure around the bed.

However, the floor was completely empty, without even a speck of dust.

At this moment, Alice felt very anxious and uneasy, because without Bob, she was the only one left in this room.

She squatted down and tried to expand the search range.

Still nothing.

Finally, her gaze rested under the bed, on that completely pitch-black area.

Alice saw half of Bob's leg exposed in the darkness, and when she reached out to grab Bob's foot...

Bob was suddenly sucked into the darkness, disappearing from her view.

In this way, Alice had to lie down completely, approaching the dark land under the bed.

Alice lay at the entrance to the world under the bed and rubbed her eyes; it was really too dark inside.

She couldn't see anything and could only reach out to feel around.

Alice reached her hand in, but her arm span was too short, and she could only reach a range of half a meter.

She had no choice but to crawl in, with half of her body entering the world under the bed.

"What is this?"

While feeling around, Alice suddenly touched something soft and slippery, and it felt like clumps of thread-like objects.

"Bob is furry, this feeling is just like Mom's hair."

"Very long, very soft."

"Mom?" This question did not come from Alice, but from another person under the bed.

"Who? Who is there!" Alice asked cautiously.

Alice felt the hair strands she was touching move, sliding across her cheek, and she seemed to feel the sound of breathing.

The sound of breathing was getting closer and closer to her, as if someone else was also lying under the bed, crawling towards her step by step.

Alice suddenly felt afraid; she wanted to crawl out from under the bed.

However, a cold hand suddenly grabbed her arm, and then, another hand wrapped around her neck.

The dark clouds dispersed, and the moonlight struck.

It shone into the world under the bed, making the visibility under the bed blurry instead of completely losing sight.

At this moment, Alice saw clearly the thing holding her.

This was a woman dressed in white; her body was facing her, but her head was rotated 180 degrees.

The thing she had touched earlier was the other person's hair.

"Did you just call me Mom?" the other person asked.

Alice couldn't speak at all; her language function seemed to have been stolen by Fear.

She could only tremble and wanted to escape, but her body felt as if it were being pressed down by someone, and she couldn't move at all.

Then, right in front of her, this head facing away from her made a "click, click" sound.

It was like the sound effect of a Puppet's neck moving.

The head straightened little by little, revealing an eyeball, staring fixedly at Alice.

"What a cute child!"

A pale palm reached out, stroking Alice's cheek.

Tears flowed more and more in Alice's eyes, but she couldn't make a crying sound.

The other person seemed to be infected by Alice's emotions as well, and pity welled up in her heart.

"You want your teddy bear, right? It is your most important friend!"

"Let me tell you where your friend is."

"You want to know, don't you."

Alice nodded pitifully.

The woman reached out her hand, approaching Alice's mouth little by little.

Alice's little mouth was pried open by an inexplicable force, and then, the woman's hand reached inside.

Alice's body twitched violently; she felt exceptionally nauseous and painful, with sour water churning in her stomach.

The woman's hand slowly reached out; Alice tilted her neck back, and a burning, stinging pain flowed through her whole body.

A leg of the teddy bear was pulled out from Alice's mouth.

The woman continued: "I hid it in your stomach. Eat it, and won't you two be able to be together forever?"

Then, she pulled out the entire body of the teddy bear little by little.

Holding it in her hand, she said to Alice: "Returning it to you!"

At this moment, Bob was covered in knife wounds, with a strange smile hanging on the corners of its mouth, which was filled with rows of broken teeth.

Alice reached out tremblingly to take it, looking at the teddy bear.

She felt that Bob seemed a bit different from before.

"Hey! Alice, we are good friends. You just ate me, so now it should be my turn to eat you."

"That way we can be together forever, aren't we good friends?"

Bob suddenly opened its mouth and spoke, red light shooting from its two button eyes, laughing hee hee.

A tongue stretched out from its sharp fangs and mouth, and there was even a human eyeball growing on that tongue.

"Ah! —"

The Fear that Alice had suppressed for a long time erupted at this moment like a flood from an opened sluice.

She screamed heart-rendingly, the sound spreading throughout the entire Villa.

Chen Mo woke up suddenly, lifting his upper body.

A system message prompt popped up before his eyes.

[Alice: Mental Value - 60, 30/90]

One of Chen Mo's hands covered his forehead, feeling a bit dizzy.

"Strange, I clearly didn't intend to sleep, but why did I fall asleep?"

His palm had been reaching out of the bed, with invisible threads hanging from his fingers, connected to the inside of Alice's room.

When Chen Mo previously entered Alice's room, he had used Threading the Needle to set up a device similar to an early warning system in her room.

If there was a supernatural intrusion, triggering the Threading the Needle mechanism, it could be transmitted to Chen Mo's side immediately.

However...

Chen Mo grabbed those invisible threads and picked them up to look.

"The steel wire is broken?"
