70: Chapter 70 Wizard Hat and Magic Wand

Chen Mo didn't pay any attention to this group of half-human, half-ghost creatures; he just gripped his axe and continued walking deeper into the Villa.

However, one of the little girl ghosts suddenly called out to him.

"Big brother, can you let me out?"

Chen Mo's body paused for a moment, then he continued walking forward without turning back.

"Big brother! I know you are a wizard. The axe you're holding must be your magic wand!"

"Only a wizard can open these iron cages. I won't hurt you; I just want to go home."

"The people locked up here are all good people. We are all families who were once tricked into coming to this Villa."

"My mom and dad have already been refined into magic potions by the evil wizard."

"If I can't escape, I will be thrown into a cauldron tonight too."

Hearing this, Chen Mo turned around and gazed at the translucent little girl.

Her eyes were misty, and she puffed out her cheeks, holding back her sobs. Crystal-clear teardrops slid down her cheeks.

Her palms, only half the size of Chen Mo's, gripped the iron cage tightly. Although she didn't have much strength, Chen Mo could feel the power contained within her grip. This power came from her unwillingness to give up.

"Big brother? No, that's not right, I should call you uncle!"

This was the first time Chen Mo had heard that address, but indeed, Sam was a middle-aged uncle after all.

Sticking his axe into the ground, Chen Mo raised his thumb, and two black cards emerged from his palm. In an instant, they severed the iron chains and the iron cage.

Before the little girl could react, her body fell from the air, and the iron cage above was about to crash down onto her.

Chen Mo threw out Threading the Needle, which wrapped around the little girl's waist. With a slight exertion of his palm, the little girl landed in his arms, held in a bridal carry by Chen Mo.

"Uncle, why did you suddenly decide to save me?" the little girl asked, puzzled.

"Because a girl's tears never lie."

Hearing this, the little girl's face instantly turned flushed.

In reality, Chen Mo knew that his wife's memoirs contained memories of refining soul magic potions. But he really didn't expect... that so many people had been imprisoned.

And listening to what the little girl meant, it followed that the Villa he was living in had once been a major site for missing persons.

Sam's friend would often use some excuse to invite these people over as guests or to sell the house. Then, the entire family would mysteriously disappear. When the police came to investigate, they couldn't find any evidence. In reality, the murderer had been hiding inside this Villa all along.

Seeing that Chen Mo was actually such a powerful wizard, the other people imprisoned in the iron cages were no longer silent; everyone became spirited. They all stood up from their cages, calling out to Chen Mo from behind the iron bars.

"Young man! Can you let us out too?"

"Fuck! Who could refuse the temptation of getting a free Villa? We were all blinded by greed."

"Young man, hurry, hurry, hurry, let us out too."

Hearing this, Chen Mo turned his head back and said very bluntly, "No!"

"What?!" Hearing this, everyone was stunned on the spot.

"Why, why can't you let us out too?"

"A boy's tears don't lie either! Young man, do you have an onion? I'll cry for you right now!"

"You aren't a pervert, are you?!"

Chen Mo felt speechless hearing all that chattering.

"Everyone, first of all, I am not a pervert."

"Secondly, if I rescue all of you, when the old wizard returns and sees that everyone in the cages has escaped, he will come to settle scores with me, and I can't defeat him."

"However, my fellow heroes of Liangshan, since we've met, I won't just sit idly by."

"If there is an opportunity, I will definitely rescue you, but not right now."

Rescuing an inconspicuous little girl might not be noticed by the old wizard. But if so many people were set free, that wizard wouldn't even need to play a survival game with Chen Mo; he would just refine Chen Mo into a magic potion tonight.

These were all NPCs, so naturally, Chen Mo's own life was more important.

Just as Chen Mo finished cupping his hands in a salute, his knees suddenly went weak, and his body slumped to the ground. He saw that his stamina, which hadn't been high to begin with, was now almost at zero.

"Uncle, what's wrong?" The little girl held up Chen Mo's arm, showing a worried expression.

"It's nothing, just a bit tired and need to rest."

"Uncle, I'll take you to a place; it will definitely be able to help you."

After she finished speaking, Chen Mo felt his feet leave the ground. The little girl had actually carried him on her back and started running quickly toward a certain place in the Villa.

"How do you have so much strength?" Chen Mo asked in surprise.

"This evil wizard feeds us some strange plants every day, which seem to contain magic power."

"With my current strength, if I went to participate in the Olympics, I would definitely win first place in weightlifting!"

"It's just like pigs and sheep being fattened up for slaughter; he also hopes to extract more from us when he refines us."

"Then he really is into raising things." Chen Mo was impressed. Sure enough, villains could be villainous in very unique ways.

Soon, led by the little girl, Chen Mo arrived at a dark and deep corridor. At the very front, against the wall, stood a rectangular object on the ground, emitting a faint green light.

"Wait!" Chen Mo rubbed his eyes. "Damn, I'm not seeing things, am I? Isn't this my brother?"

Reaching his destination, Chen Mo stood on the ground again, looking at the guy in front of him with a mouth and inverted triangular eyes. That's right, this was the Vending Machine Ghost.

At this moment, the items inside its cabinet door had all been updated. They were no longer disgusting food like bugs, but had changed into magic wands and wizard hats.

Rows of magic wands of various colors were arranged inside, and the wizard hats were inlaid with ribbons of different colors. The black ones were the most expensive, costing 100 horror coins, and the cheapest ones were green, costing 10 horror coins.

"I didn't expect this. I just knew there had to be a way to replenish mental value." Chen Mo was in the happiest mood he had been in since entering the dungeon.

He extended his fist and knocked on the Vending Machine Ghost's face, his movements practiced, without a hint of unfamiliarity, and completely unreserved. It was just like how some boys liked to play games of patting each other's butts to express friendliness.

"Brother, give me the most expensive set of that wizard hat and magic wand, and another bottle of water of might, and I'll teach you math." Chen Mo said with a smile on his face.

Who would have known that the next second! After Chen Mo knocked a few times with "bang-bang" sounds, those dozing inverted triangular eyes opened groggily. Its brows furrowed instantly.

Then, it instantly moved its mouth at the bottom to the position where Chen Mo's fist was knocking. It opened its sharp-toothed mouth and bit at Chen Mo several times, cursing loudly: "Who the hell is your brother?"
