192: Chapter 192 The President's Secret Room

Taking a deep breath, Chen Mo immediately pushed open the door to the study.

Or rather, he kicked it open with his foot.

The door swung open, and seeing nothing unusual, Chen Mo walked inside.

"Where are you?"

Chen Mo looked around; the room was filled with tall bookshelves displaying all sorts of books.

Suddenly, someone stepped out from behind the door.

They crept stealthily toward Chen Mo's back.

Chen Mo's eyes narrowed, and he immediately raised his leg and kicked backward.

The person fell to the ground with a thud, and the rope in their hand slipped from their grasp.

"Ouch! That hurts!" A middle-aged man's voice called out.

Chen Mo flipped the light switch and saw clearly that the person on the ground was not just a person, but a dinosaur-man!

Chen Mo quickly took a few steps, intending to escape through the window.

However, the man behind him took a letter out of his pocket and shouted.

"Student Chen, is it Student Chen? Don't go!"

"This is a letter Little Jiang asked me to give to you. Take a look, I'm her dad!"

This was Jiang Xinyi's father?

What kind of normal father would hide behind a door, wearing dinosaur pajamas, holding a rope, and trying to ambush a student from behind?

Nevertheless, Chen Mo took the letter.

He opened it and saw only two words written inside: "Time".

"This..."

Chen Mo pulled Jiang Xinyi's father up from the ground and returned his detached dinosaur tail.

He asked, "Um, sir, did Jiang Xinyi say anything to you about the issue of time?"

"Well, let me see..." Jiangs Dad rubbed his chin and pondered for a moment.

He seemed to be trying hard to recall, and then a lightbulb-like realization appeared above his head.

He said, "Right, this letter was given to me by Little Jiang 10 minutes ago. She should be in the Secret Room in the garden now."

"So it's true, the President isn't dead!"

Chen Mo let out a long sigh of relief and immediately leaped from the second-floor window, rolling as he landed.

A dinosaur head poked out from the second-floor window. Seeing Chen Mo's agile movements, Jiangs Dad rubbed his chin and sighed, "Young people really have good stamina, tsk tsk tsk."

Chen Mo entered Jiang Xinyi's garden and looked around, but didn't find anything unusual.

However, there was one plant in the garden that seemed rather out of place.

A cactus covered by a transparent glass dome appeared before Chen Mo's eyes.

The soil inside the glass dome was all sand. Touching the glass wall, he felt it was quite hot inside, consistent with the temperature required for desert cactus growth.

There was a tiny hole on the side of this glass dome.

Chen Mo put his eye to the hole and looked through to the opposite glass, discovering a colored beam of light shining toward a certain spot in the garden.

Locking the specific location in his mind, Chen Mo walked over.

He pushed aside the surrounding weeds and found another fish tank on the ground, filled three-quarters of the way with granular material.

Beside the fish tank was a convex mirror.

Chen Mo leaned in front of the fish tank and looked carefully; he could see the colored beam that had passed through the cactus greenhouse.

It had disappeared after passing through the cactus greenhouse, but then shone again into this newly discovered granular glass fish tank.

It was precisely because of these granular materials that Chen Mo could clearly see the light beam inside.

There were actually two beams, crossing and scattering; one shot toward the sky, and the other shot diagonally toward the ground.

Clearly, this was where the convex mirror came in handy.

Convex mirrors have the function of converging light.

Chen Mo carefully placed the convex mirror where the two light beams crossed and diverged.

After passing through the convex mirror, the two beams immediately converged into a single line, shooting straight toward a certain point.

Because it passed through the back of the glass tank, the wavelength of the light changed, turning it from warm-colored light into dark-colored light.

Following this beam of light, Chen Mo successfully found a hidden door in the garden.

The hidden door was pitch black and made of metal, but it had a small circular glass opening in the middle.

"You should need this..."

Chen Mo turned around and saw Jiangs Dad handing him a triangular prism.

"So... this small glass opening needs a rainbow to be shone into it?"

Chen Mo returned to the fish tank filled with granules.

He used tweezers to remove the convex mirror; if the water in the tank was disturbed too much, it would cause the light to become chaotic.

The light split back into two beams.

Chen Mo placed the triangular prism in front of one of the beams, letting it pass through one side of the prism, and then the light, which had been almost transparent, changed.

It projected out from the other side of the prism and turned into a seven-colored rainbow.

Chen Mo slightly adjusted the position of the triangular prism, successfully projecting the beam into the small glass hole of the hidden door.

"Beep, beep."

The hidden door opened automatically.

"Not bad, Student Chen. Just like Little Jiang said, you're quite capable. Her mother and I haven't been able to crack the mechanism of her Secret Room for 10 years."

"So... every time we argued, this little girl would hide inside the Secret Room, and since we couldn't get in, we could only leave her food at the door."

Jiangs Dad and Chen Mo both arrived at the entrance of the Secret Room.

What came into view was a manual climbing ladder leading downwards; as long as one climbed down this ladder, they could enter the underground space.

Jiangs Dad and Chen Mo climbed down the ladder one after the other, and upon reaching the ground, they saw that this space was filled with even more strange objects, and there were even some lizard and snake specimens.

"Chen Mo, come in!"

"Dad, you can go out now!"

Jiangs Dad was already very satisfied; for the first time in over 10 years, he had seen what the Secret Room his daughter had built looked like.

He excused himself, leaving Chen Mo alone.

The hidden door overhead moved with a "rumbling" sound, blocking out all the moonlight that had been shining down.

Then, he heard a continuous "thump, thump, thump" sound.

The green, skull-shaped light bulbs hanging on the surrounding walls lit up one by one.

Giving Chen Mo the feeling of entering a Thriller Game.

"What are you still standing there for? Come in."

Chen Mo looked at the skull light bulbs placed on both sides and found that these two rows of bulbs all pointed toward the door in front of him.

This was definitely the President, without a doubt the President's voice!

The President was still alive!

Chen Mo pressed the door handle and pulled hard.

The scene before him suddenly became very dazzling, and in that moment of trance, Chen Mo only got a rough look at what was inside.

A simple desk was covered with many chemical reagent bottles, and the surrounding old-fashioned cabinets were filled with snacks.

And deep within that white light, which seemed capable of swallowing Chen Mo whole, a familiar figure appeared before his eyes.

The person took off their glasses, shook their black hair, and sat on the chair with their arms crossed.

Putting both legs directly on the desk.

Grabbing a bag of potato chips from the side, they tossed a big handful into their mouth.

They even raised their finger and licked the crumbs off it clean.

They tapped their fingers twice on the conference table and said, "Sit down, Chen Mo."
