73: Chapter 73 Tarot Cards
In movies, the hexagram array is generally the fountain where the spellcaster is located.
Chen Mo entered the names of the buildings near the center point into his memo and immediately set off.
After about 10 minutes of driving, Chen Mo arrived at a small commercial street.
In the middle was a slightly sloping road, with neat shops on both sides.
Chen Mo looked up and saw Jerry's Cake Shop, Ms. Sharon's Clothing Store, and a toy store called Cupid.
The map showed that the center point of the hexagram array was right near these three shops.
The cake shop and the clothing store didn't look like scenes that would be related to magic.
So, Chen Mo went straight to the Cupid toy store.
The decoration of this shop was very beautiful.
The whole place was tiled with marble, and the entrance was a transparent glass door with stickers of classic games and anime like "MapleStory" and "Shrek" pasted on it.
The sign above the glass door was made of protruding faux redwood.
Inside, there were a few mechanical parrots moving rhythmically within the treetop.
The interior of the shop had warm-toned lighting, and through the glass door, one could see a dazzling array of toys on display.
Even for someone like Chen Mo, who only had 6.5 left in his pocket, seeing such an exquisite shop made him want to go in and take a look.
Arriving at the entrance, Chen Mo saw a sign that read "No Pets Allowed."
So he had no choice but to let Sadi return to the car first.
The car could block the sunlight and had air conditioning; it was at least better than the dog lying in the sun at the shop entrance.
Pushing open the glass door in front of him, the sound of "Welcome" automatically rang in his ears.
After entering, the space was very narrow.
Small counters came into view, with all kinds of toys placed on them.
There were Dolls, Iron Man, and imitation guns.
Picking up a packaging box at random, one would find a clear line of small print engraved on the back.
[Made in China]
"Sure enough, children's toys all over the world are made in China."
Just as Chen Mo picked up a husky plush toy and was playing with it casually.
A gentle male voice suddenly came to his ears.
"Customer, would you like me to introduce today's special offers to you?"
Chen Mo turned around and met the speaker's gaze.
Before him was a man wearing overalls, very tall, with a slender face.
He was about 40 or older, but his eyes were pure and spirited, exuding an elegant and easygoing temperament.
"Do you sell magic props here?"
"Of course, Cupid Toy Store provides you with all kinds of happiness."
Pushing aside the purple curtain in front of him.
Chen Mo followed the man into the inner room of the shop.
The overall tone of this room was purple, and the walls were covered with wallpaper of blue meteors streaking across the sky.
The surroundings were all display cabinets, and behind transparent glass, there were various magic props.
The ceiling above was hung with strings of star-shaped fairy lights.
Making one feel as if they were looking at a romantic starry sky when looking up.
The man sat behind a long table, stretched out his palm, and signaled for Chen Mo to sit opposite him.
Pulling out a chair, Chen Mo sat down.
"Do you want to play a game about fate?"
The man picked up a stack of purple cards placed on the table, pressed his palm on the deck, and slid them into a fan shape.
Chen Mo saw the patterns on those cards.
Court maids, nebulae and the universe, and in the center, a world gear.
The corners of the gear pointed to.
"Wind, Fire, Water, Earth" elements.
"Tarot cards?"
As an introductory scholar studying the mysterious field, Chen Mo recognized the 78 cards in front of him.
"Draw three cards at random, relying on your first instinct."
Chen Mo scanned them roughly, reached out, and drew the two cards on the very edges and one from the middle.
Pushing them toward the man opposite him.
The man picked up the three tarot cards, flipped them over, and displayed them in front of Chen Mo.
"The World, Eight of Pentacles, Eight of Swords."
"The present is a critical period in your life; you have completed the previous part of your life very well."
"But the stage you are about to enter will be a huge turning point in your life."
"If you can take this step, your life will reach an unprecedented height, and if you cannot cross it, then you may suffer the invasion of misfortune."
After the man finished speaking, he smiled and added.
"Letting go of hatred is the hardest thing for humans to do."
"Of course, those who can do it are either gods or saints."
Chen Mo did not believe in any bullshit Tarot metaphysics.
Even if Tarot cards could really predict fate, it had nothing to do with him, a person with black hair and yellow skin.
It was like using yellow talisman paper or black dog blood to deal with vampires.
Or taking garlic and a cross to fight a zombie.
The races didn't match at all.
To calculate Chen Mo's fate, it should be "Heaven and Earth, Mysterious and Yellow, Bagua Compass."
"I will keep what you said in mind, sir, but... I have a question I want to ask you."
The corners of the man's mouth curled up slightly.
"Are you a magician?"
Hearing Chen Mo's words, the man hesitated for about 2 seconds.
He waved his hand and said: "How is that possible? I am just a toy store owner."
Chen Mo's eyes narrowed slightly; he clearly didn't believe it.
"Things like magicians might really exist in the world, but it's definitely not me. You've found the wrong person."
Chen Mo had a magic wand in his pocket and quietly injected Ghost Power into it.
If there were also things related to magic hidden here.
Then this magic wand would fly up automatically.
However, the magic wand did not show any abnormal reaction.
Chen Mo found it hard to believe; the owner in front of him was definitely the person closest to being a magician.
If even he wasn't, then who else in this small town could help?
There was also not enough time to conduct a carpet search again.
Chen Mo had no leisure to stay longer and immediately walked out of the toy store.
It was 7 PM now, 2 more hours had passed, and only the last 8 hours remained.
At this time, his wife and children had also returned home.
They were happily eating dinner.
His wife called Chen Mo and said a few words of concern for him.
Although Chen Mo was anxious at this time, he still had to listen patiently when facing his wife.
"Anna, I still have things to do now. Can I tell you when I get home?"
Hearing this, his wife was not angry.
Instead, she changed her tone and said.
"Just one last thing to tell you, just one!"
Facing his wife's playful tone, Chen Mo still chose to listen patiently to the end.
"When I was discharged from the Hospital today, I saw an interesting thing. Do you know what it is?"
"What could be interesting in the Hospital?" Chen Mo pretended to be surprised.
"Hey, I just think this matter is very coincidental."
"When I was discharged, I happened to see a death list."
"Sister-in-law's name is Amy Seeger, right?"
Chen Mo nodded.
"She passed away yesterday, the date was July 21, 2006."
Chen Mo was speechless upon hearing this; was it interesting that someone died?
However, what his wife said next.
Its level of shock almost caused Chen Mo to have a car accident on the spot.
"I discovered that in 1990, which was the same day 16 years ago."
"There was also a man named Amy Seeger who died on July 21, 1990."
"Don't you think that's a coincidence?"
