77: Chapter 77 King of Diamonds

"Rumble!"

A purple bolt of lightning struck through the house next door, like an axe hacking down from the sky, slicing the house cleanly in half.

Flames rose into the air, using the house as fuel.

Making a "crackling" sound as it burned.

A dark shadow fell from the roof of the Villa, crashing into the mud pit on the lawn.

Its legs were thrust directly into the mud, with only its head exposed.

Looking at it this way, it seemed a bit like someone who had been murdered and buried in the ground.

But because it was buried too shallowly, after the next rain, the soil burying the head turned into mud, and after being washed away by the rainwater.

Only the blood-stained head was exposed.

That head was none other than The Fat Guy; he had died very peacefully, with a black playing card stuck in his forehead.

The number on this playing card was [King of Diamonds].

The wife was awakened by the thunder just now and entered the courtyard holding a black umbrella.

In the sky, lightning resembled scattered white spiderwebs, constantly crawling along the dense clouds.

Every now and then, intense flashes of light erupted behind the dark clouds.

The light illuminated the face of the person who had died in the courtyard.

Seeing The Fat Guy dead before her, she covered her mouth with a look of surprise.

The Fat Guy had turned back into a human, and his two unfocused pupils were reflected in the wife's mind.

"These eyes, I feel like I've seen them somewhere before!"

The wife opened her phone's photo album.

She casually found a few couple photos taken with Sam.

In the first photo, the two were taken at the entrance of a snack shop, where there was a tin trash can.

After the wife zoomed in on the photo, she couldn't help but gasp.

Because, right beside her and Sam, inside the dark trash can's opening.

There was a pair of glowing eyes hiding inside, staring right at them.

The second photo was of the two of them taking a taxi to the airport.

The wife handed the phone to the driver, asking him to help take a panoramic photo inside the car.

At that time, Anna Catherine never imagined.

That the driver, who was wearing a peaked cap and had the brim pulled very low, was actually The Fat Guy in disguise.

While the two were smiling happily at the camera, The Fat Guy was turning the steering wheel while glancing sideways, staring at the two people on the phone screen.

Gritting his teeth there.

The wife couldn't help but take two steps back, covering her mouth, feeling horrified.

Because no matter which photo she scrolled to, as long as she appeared in the photo, The Fat Guy was always there.

He had always been hiding around her, secretly spying on her.

At this moment, The Fat Guy was already dead.

That feeling of having to stay vigilant at all times, of being watched constantly, finally dissipated like smoke.

She let out a long sigh, clutching her chest.

A smile appeared on the corners of her mouth.

"Did the Mother Goddess of Light help me? Helping me escape my predicament." She clasped her hands together, facing the sky.

Her eyes revealed an incomparably devout look.

"What a beautiful young lady; we met when you were very young."

"At that time, I felt... that you would surely be a beauty when you grew up. The Magician's judgment is still quite accurate."

A man's voice suddenly came from behind the wife.

Turning her head, there was only a solid wall; there was no one there.

"You were supposed to be the one who died tonight. You are lucky to be able to live one more day, but that kid Sam is restless, and I need chips."

The wife stared at the thick wall in front of her; the voice was coming from inside it.

She tried reaching out to touch it.

When her palm pressed against the surface of the wall.

The wall suddenly seemed to come alive, its surface bulging, rising and falling like ocean waves.

Then, a dark starlight flickered, and a hand wearing a leather glove suddenly reached out from inside the wall.

It grabbed Anna Catherine's wrist.

"I actually had a good impression of you, but your faith is in the Mother Goddess of Light. Hmph, I must correct your erroneous thoughts."

In the other hand, it held a red rose, which it brought to Anna Catherine's nose.

Upon smelling that strange lavender scent.

The wife's eyes rolled back, and she fainted to the ground.

Then, two hands from inside the wall grabbed her feet and dragged her inside.

When the wife's last strand of hair disappeared into the wall.

The wall returned to normal, and the ripples dissipated.

Midnight, 12 o'clock.

The clock hanging on the wall opened, and a budgerigar popped out from inside.

"It's 12 o'clock! It's 12 o'clock! Everyone, hurry and take action."

"Kill them! Kill everyone in the Villa!"

Then, right on the empty floor of the living room.

A lot of water seeped out from the gaps in the dry, tightly connected floorboards.

The liquid coalesced, and dark shadows walked out from the puddles.

From left to right, there were a total of 5 dark shadows.

They were "The Head of the Household, Ghost Wife, Ghost Boy, Ghost Girl, and a Ghost Cat!"

At 118 Ocean Avenue, a strange thing happened at the beginning.

When the midnight bell rang, smelling that lavender scent, the husband suddenly felt someone talking to him in his head.

That person told him.

"Kill him! Kill them! Otherwise... the one who dies will be you!"

So, the husband went to the Basement and grabbed the shotgun hidden inside.

Then, while his family members were sleeping, he shot them in the head one by one.

Even the family's black cat was suffocated by him with his bare hands.

When the police arrived the next day, they found that the husband had also committed suicide by shooting himself.

Everyone thought this was a farce by a madman.

But they didn't know that this was actually just the Magician trying out a new magic potion.

Pete, who was fast asleep, suddenly heard the sound of a cat meowing.

He woke up with a start and saw a dark shadow standing by his bed, holding a pair of scissors.

Lightning flashed.

Pete saw clearly who was standing in front of him.

"Alice? You! What are you trying to do with that knife!"

Alice smiled and said: "Brother, you always scare me with ghost stories. I want to cut off your mouth and then sew your mouth shut."

"That way... you will be a good brother who can only listen to me tell ghost stories from now on."

"Oh! Dad too, Dad is really an annoying guy."

"Even though we aren't his own flesh and blood, he always wants to meddle in our business. He even killed my favorite little bear!"

"I suddenly have a good idea, a brilliant idea."

"I want to turn Dad into a new Bob, stuffing cotton under his skin. You'll come to help me, right!"

Pete's mouth trembled, and he didn't dare to answer.

After another bolt of lightning struck.

He finally saw Alice's eyes clearly at this moment.

Her eyes were not human eyes at all, but resembled a toy bear's eyes, as if two black buttons had been stuffed inside.

She opened her mouth and laughed maniacally.

A toy bear's hand reached out from her mouth, grabbing her face and crawling out from inside.

Bob's eyes were curved into inverted triangles; the person and the bear were smiling eerily at Pete.

Pete wanted to turn over and escape quickly.

But the toy bear in Alice's mouth suddenly jumped out, pinning Pete down on the bed.

Then it spread its limbs, its back aligned exactly with Pete's heart.

Pete struggled desperately, kicking his legs wildly, but was firmly suppressed by Bob.

"Alice, stab here, stab down through me as well!"

Bob's bear paw patted the location of its own heart.
