89: Chapter 89 Magic Never Comes Too Late

Tens of thousands of Blood Pool Ghosts poked their heads out, staring dumbfounded at Chen Mo hovering in the sky.

Their attitudes shifted one by one, revealing looks of awe.

They clasped their hands together, all knelt down, and kowtowed to Chen Mo.

However, their pleas for mercy were already too late.

"Hehehe!"

Chen Mo tilted his head back, covering his face with one hand, and laughed somewhat manically.

The magic power within him was simply too immense.

He only wanted to do one thing now!

Slaughter all ten thousand of these ghosts, leaving none behind!

"So... ants, go to hell!"

Chen Mo raised the fallen angel, facing the tens of thousands of Blood Pool Ghosts.

A powerful energy fluctuation erupted from the tip of the staff, carrying a terrifying hurricane that directly overturned the entire blood pool.

The Blood Pool Ghosts all paddled desperately, wanting to escape the range of the spell.

However, the magic Chen Mo cast was inescapable; as long as one didn't cover their eyes, they would be hit.

Time seemed to freeze.

Along with the blood pool, the bodies of the ten thousand demons all stiffened.

Starting from their soles, their bodies turned to stone bit by bit, extending to their necks, and their protruding tongues also turned into stone sculptures.

The boiling pool water turned into gray stone, and the Blood Pool Ghosts embedded within became stone statues.

It looked a bit like the reliefs on the walls of Notre-Dame Cathedral, full of artistry.

"Then next, it's your turn, Vincent!"

Chen Mo grabbed the infinitely extending iron chain and channeled magic into it.

The iron chain seemed to be grabbed by a giant's hand and pulled upward with force, carrying Chen Mo as he ascended rapidly, rushing into the crimson.

"Mom, I can't control my hands!"

Peter grabbed a fruit knife from the ground, gripping it tightly with both hands, and walked step by step toward Anna Catherine.

Although he tried his best to stop himself, his feet fighting strongly against that force, he simply couldn't stop.

Alice grabbed a pair of scissors, her palms repeatedly relaxing and clenching, making a "snip, snip" cutting sound.

Anna Catherine shook her head desperately, her arms being held up in the air by Vincent, who had transformed into a werewolf.

She could not let out any painful screams.

Once she made a sound, black lightning would pierce her ribs, forcing her to shut up.

Vincent only wanted to hear the scream at the moment she was stabbed by the knife!

"Hehe, interesting, yes, that's it, let me see what kind of scene it is to kill one's own mother with one's own hands."

"I was 12 when I killed my mother, that was decades ago, and I've already forgotten what her expression was like at the time."

"So... let me see."

Vincent held a camera, facing the three of them, recording the whole thing.

"Mom, I'm sorry!"

Tears flowed from the corners of Peter's eyes as he stood before Anna Catherine.

"Woof woof! Don't, Peter!"

Sadi was pinned to the wall by flying bricks, with only his smooth dog head exposed.

"Yes! Good boy Peter, just kill her like that!"

"From now on, your future growth will be overshadowed, and every night when you sleep, you will recall the scene of your mother being killed by your own hands."

"You will feel disgusted with your own existence, and you will have no choice but to seek to fall into darkness and become my new disciple."

"Be accepted by the darkness! After I die, become the next, even greater Vincent!"

"Kill her!" Vincent shrieked excitedly.

Peter turned his head away, but a pair of invisible hands twisted his neck back.

Forcing him to look directly at his mother.

Tears gushed from Anna Catherine's eyes, but she still maintained a smile.

That smile was the unique tenderness of a mother, without hatred, without complaint, only forgiveness for her child.

Vincent was stunned for a moment when he saw Anna Catherine's expression.

The fragmented memories in his mind seemed to piece themselves back together, forming a complete picture.

On that rainy night filled with dark clouds.

After he raised the blood-stained knife, he wore a sinister smile, looking at the woman with a weathered face lying on the ground.

The thunderstorm on that rainy night washed over her body, taking away the last remaining warmth within her.

"Mom, it's all your fault, because of your and Dad's weakness, that's why you get bullied by those people."

"I hate you both, because of you, when my classmates look at me, they think I am a lower-class person."

"I will definitely become a great person. I am good at stealing, my hands are incredibly agile, but I don't have money, and I can't learn the piano."

"Then... I'll become a Magician."

"Dead? As expected, just as weak and incompetent as Dad, who was beaten to death." Disdain appeared in Vincent's eyes.

He turned around and didn't look at his mother again.

From now on, he would shed his slum identity and try to mingle with the high-end social circles.

However, after he had walked a dozen steps.

In front of that dilapidated, teetering house, the woman lying on the ground gazed at his back.

Although tears flowed from her eyes, she still maintained a smile.

"Jack, Mom is sorry for you."

"If poverty brings you pain, then if I had known..."

"Mom wouldn't have brought you into this world."

"Mom won't resent you."

"It's just going to hell, for you, Mom is willing."

"I hope you get your wish and become a great Magician!"

Vincent's pupils trembled violently, and he felt like his brain was about to explode.

He roared heart-wrenchingly, his chest heaving up and down.

"Why, why even after I treated you like that, you still show such a pitiful gaze."

"No! I am right! I did mingle with the high-end circle, and I felt..."

"I felt happiness..."

"This is what I wanted!"

"Hahaha! Hahahaha!"

Vincent raised his arms, covering his face and laughing wildly.

As he laughed, his expression suddenly became calm again.

"I also obtained something I never had before—loneliness!"

"I thought that if I had status, position, and money, I would be able to receive genuine care, but my wife went against me, and my child died of illness."

"Those so-called friends who surrounded me every day were all just trying to get benefits from me."

"Actually... actually, only she and he were truly sincere to me."

"Everything is irreversible, I can only become stronger, to make those hypocritical people wear masks forever."

"And always show me a flattering look!"

Veins bulged on Vincent's forehead.

"So... I need to drag a few people down to hell with me!"

He looked at Peter, raised his fingertip, and shot a beam of magic, injecting it into Peter's forehead.

Peter's eyes instantly turned scarlet, and he raised the knife in his hand and stabbed down rapidly.

"Dad! If you can hear me, Dad, I hope you can appear right now!"

"I will definitely behave in the future, treat you as my real father, please, save Mom! Save Peter!"

Alice knelt on the ground, pleading loudly.

Anna Catherine didn't close her eyes, but instead watched Peter the whole time, her eyes filled with worry.

Even though that knife was about to pierce her left eye!

A black card instantly rushed out from the shadows of the wall, colliding with the blade and sparking.

The person who threw the card had an incredibly precise grasp of the trajectory angle.

The knife was deflected directly toward Vincent's skull; he dodged by tilting his head, and it sliced a scarlet wound along his cheek.

"Who?!"

Vincent looked around; there was no one in the room.

A white cloak fluttered in the air, gradually revealing Chen Mo's figure.

Chen Mo, in a gorgeous white tuxedo, stood in the air on an invisible steel wire.

He adjusted the angle of his white top hat, revealing his deep blue pupils behind a monocle.

"Sam? No, that's not right, Chinese man, who are you?!"

The face revealed at this moment was not Sam Ricardo's, but Chen Mo's own face.

Chen Mo didn't answer; with one hand in his pocket, he stood tall on the steel wire.

He smiled and said, "Sorry, lovely Ms. Alice and Mr. Peter, I'm late."

"However... magic is never late."
