15: Chapter 15 Gentle Ning Xi, Temperamental Fox

This evening study session was exceptionally grim.

Zhao the Fox beside me had turned into Zhao the Tiger, with a murderous aura radiating from her eyes the entire night, as if she were the one who had been beaten.

"Hey, what's with the look, as if someone owes you millions? We were the ones who got beaten, not you."

Shen Weiyue had a white bandage around his neck, temporarily slinging his left arm. It wasn't actually a serious issue, but the doctor had said to apply some medicine and observe it just in case.

Zhao Qingyan glanced at him and said coldly, "Class 6 is a collective. As the class monitor, I might not meddle in things usually, but at critical moments, I must consider the collective."

"So, what are you planning to do?"

"You don't need to worry about it. I want them dead!"

"(ΩДΩ)"

Shen Weiyue leaned back tactically. Could this fox have read too many CEO romance novels? She spoke so arrogantly.

However, this was quite different from her usual cold and detached demeanor; it actually gave her a more human touch, which was nice.

During the first period of the evening study session, the teacher went over some key and difficult points, while the following two periods were, as usual, for the students to arrange freely.

Those who wanted to study math studied math; those who wanted to study Chinese studied Chinese.

Shen Weiyue continued his assault on the biology renal reflex zones. When he encountered things like different Mendelian concepts, he turned to ask Ning Xi for guidance as usual.

Although the young girl wasn't as stunning as Zhao the Fox, she was very cute and well-behaved, especially with her fair skin that was pleasant to look at; she could be considered a rare little beauty.

Shen Weiyue had his left arm in a sling across his chest and held the test paper in his right hand. He had a pen in his mouth, taking it out to write whenever he needed to record something, leaving the pen barrel covered in saliva.

For some reason, Ning Xi was exceptionally gentle tonight. Her voice was soft and sweet while explaining the problems to him, and she would glance at him deeply from time to time.

Director Shen felt it was very strange, but his years of experience in remaining calm under pressure supported him in maintaining a nonchalant expression.

"So, for this question about screening for genes with significantly changed expression levels in STING gene-knockout mouse pancreatic B cells, is the three-step experimental procedure CDA?"

Shen Weiyue pointed at the question on the test paper to ask his query, but Ning Xi didn't react at all.

"Classmate Ning, Classmate Ning?"

"Hmm... Ah? What?"

He looked up, and the flush on Ning Xi's small face flashed and vanished. She said unnaturally, "I didn't hear clearly just now. Could you say it again?"

"Oh, it's like this. This is how I understand this problem..."

The two of them—one genuinely seeking guidance, the other distracted while teaching—made Zhao Qingyan, who was listening from the side, feel like her head was going to explode.

"Goodness, if you can't teach, then don't!"

"Let this Stupid Donkey come and ask me! I know how!"

But it wasn't that Ning Xi didn't know; as long as she suppressed the fluctuations in her heart and focused, she was actually quite impressive.

This problem was soon conquered by Shen Weiyue.

Zhao the Fox sighed inwardly, wondering why this fellow hadn't been reviewing math lately; that was her absolute domain.

Perhaps her thoughts were sensed; after Shen Weiyue finished reviewing the difficult points in a set of biology past papers, he actually pulled out a math test paper.

He didn't start with the multiple-choice questions but went straight to the last few big problems, cranking up the intensity right from the start.

He had calculated formulas on several pages of his draft notebook, and just as he barely fought his way to the second sub-question of the final big problem, Director Shen hit a wall.

He couldn't do it; his IQ had jammed here again, and he couldn't break through.

He compared it with the answer key; he had gotten everything before that right, only this last part was wrong.

Director Shen didn't hesitate to turn and ask Ning Xi.

A wind suddenly blew from outside the window, rushing in with a whoosh, and the test paper flew up with a flap.

Director Shen had the fountain pen in his mouth, but his right hand was quick enough to pin the paper down.

But this caused trouble; he couldn't reach for his pen.

Ning Xi couldn't help but smile, stretching out her small hand to pat the paper, helping him pin it down, then she used her pencil case to weigh down the other side, and the test paper settled.

"Thank you, Teacher Little Ning. I have to trouble you with this problem again. I'm not disturbing your studies, am I?"

"No, I'm not any teacher. Don't call me that; it's so embarrassing."

"Among any three people, there must be one who can be my teacher. Learning has no order of priority; each has their own area of expertise. If you can teach me, then you are my teacher."

Shen Weiyue put on a very respectful attitude, and Ning Xi thought this boy was extremely polite.

She first looked at the second sub-question of the final big problem, pondered deeply for a while, and then wrote out the solution process on a blank sheet of draft paper.

Then she checked the answer, and it was correct.

She then explained it to Shen Weiyue, who listened with great difficulty but still understood it.

Thus, the two began to tackle the final sub-question together, which was also the most difficult one.

Ning Xi couldn't solve it herself either. Although she could understand it after looking at the answer, it wasn't very clear when she tried to explain it to Shen Weiyue.

After all, she hadn't fully grasped it herself.

"Oh dear, I didn't quite get it either. It looks like you'll have to ask the class monitor," Ning Xi said embarrassedly.

Zhao Qingyan, who had been waiting bitterly for a long time and had already torn up a pile of paper scraps in front of her, was instantly energized upon hearing this, thinking that it was finally her turn.

Shen Weiyue looked at her desk and whispered, "Forget it, she's radiating murderous aura right now. It's better if I don't provoke her. I'll just..."

"Shen Weiyue! Are you badmouthing me again?"

Before the words had even faded, Zhao Qingyan turned her head to glare at him, and before he could speak, she snatched his test paper: "Give it here!"

"Uh, this, she..." Director Shen asked, bewildered, "Why is she so irritable?"

"The class monitor is fierce with her words, but she is very kind at heart. She will definitely be able to explain this problem clearly and simply," Ning Xi answered with a smile, a flash of amusement and helplessness passing through her heart.

Shen Weiyue carefully turned around, and Zhao the Fox explained the parts of the answer that weren't written in detail, step by step.

This time, not only did Shen Weiyue, sitting in front, suddenly see the light, but Ning Xi, in the back row, also had a sudden realization.

Sigh, comparing people just makes one angry; she is truly invincible in mathematics.

"Amazing, Class Monitor. You really live up to being a fox; you're too smart," Shen Weiyue praised uncontrollably.

Zhao the Fox's lips curled up, and she said coldly, "Are you praising me or insulting me?"

"Praising you, of course. For eighteen years in the past and eighteen years in the future, I've never seen a girl as smart as you."

"You are really perfunctory, 'eighteen years in the future,' heh."

She threw the paper back to him and ignored him again, as if she had just been tired of reading and solved a difficult problem to relieve the boredom.

Shen Weiyue looked at her profile, a strand of hair hanging down and dancing in the wind, and thought to himself that it was fortunate this fox had low emotional intelligence, otherwise other girls would really have no chance.

After the evening study session ended, the two wounded, Shen Weiyue and Ye Lingtao, left together as usual; that fellow had a bruise on his face.

When Zhao Qingyan returned home, she didn't go to her room. She waited for her father on the living room sofa for a long time, and the moment Principal Zhao Weiming walked through the door, she said fiercely:

"Dad, you must severely punish those few sports students who hit people!"

"The school has its own rules and regulations on how to punish them. Why are you joining the commotion here?"

"I am the Class 6 class monitor. My people were beaten; do you think that makes you look good?"

"Hiss... What a tricky angle..."

Principal Zhao Weiming was greatly shocked. When did his daughter, who usually didn't care about anything, become a judge of justice?

Strange, strange, truly strange.
