47: Chapter 47 College Entrance Examination
Shen Weiyue was in a hurry to get out of class and didn't think about looking at it right away, only saying, "Finished writing? Then let's go; the lights will be out soon."
"Okay, since we're about to graduate, I'll give you one more piece of calligraphy."
Zhao Qingyan took a small bag out of her schoolbag containing a stack of rice paper, and Shen Weiyue glanced at it, certain it was calligraphy.
He said thank you and opened it right there to take a look.
"Circumstances are created by the mind; success depends on human effort."
The characters were written beautifully, clearly the work of someone who had practiced calligraphy for many years.
Shen Weiyue exclaimed, "You're truly amazing. Not only are you a top student, but your calligraphy is also this good, and most importantly, you're so beautiful. In ancient times, you would definitely have been a great talented woman."
Zhao Qingyan didn't respond, but her expression showed she was quite pleased.
Shen Weiyue suddenly slapped his thigh, a flash of inspiration hitting him, "Ah, I knew it. A girl with the character 'Yan' in her name must be someone special. Is your family a family of calligraphers?"
"I wouldn't call it a family of calligraphers, but my grandfather is quite skilled." Zhao Qingyan didn't explain further and walked out with her schoolbag on her back.
Shen Weiyue went downstairs with her, and when they reached the school gate, Zhao the Fox waved goodbye to him for the first time.
"Stupid Donkey Shen, goodbye."
"Goodbye, Zhao the Fox."
...
June 7th.
The tense and exciting College Entrance Exam finally arrived as scheduled.
For the Chinese exam in the morning, Shen Weiyue felt no psychological pressure.
Although he had forgotten the details since being reborn, he still remembered the main essay topic from that year clearly. He had drafted it in his head countless times; it would be inexcusable not to score above fifty-five points.
Sure enough, when the paper was handed out, it was the same assigned essay topic: "Familiarity."
Director Shen didn't say a word and, metaphorically riding his little donkey backward, started with the main essay first, immediately writing a piece about original intentions and missions.
The graders liked flowery essays that elevated the theme, so he filled his essay about "familiarity" with a sense of mission regarding patriotism and national sentiment.
This order of answering questions shocked the proctor. In all his years of working, this was the first time he had seen such a madman in the College Entrance Exam testing hall, actually daring to practice the Nine Yin Manual in reverse!
He watched helplessly as Shen Weiyue spent less than thirty minutes writing a magnificent essay, then killed his way from the beginning to the end of the test paper, looking as relaxed and casual as if he were drinking tea or eating a meal.
After checking his paper once, Shen Weiyue handed it in early while everyone else was still scribbling away, cruelly messing with their mental state.
He left the school gate, had a light lunch, and then happily got a full nap.
In the afternoon, it was the math exam.
In his memory, the 2009 College Entrance Exam was hellishly difficult. Shen Weiyue had been mentally prepared and didn't have a breakdown.
Furthermore, he felt that the knowledge points for many of the questions were familiar. Although he couldn't answer them all, they didn't leave him completely clueless.
Shen Weiyue thanked Zhao the Fox in his heart while calmly guessing the answer to the final big question.
If he couldn't do it, the vast majority of people definitely couldn't either.
The next day's science comprehensive exam was exceptionally difficult. Shen Weiyue fought until the very last moment but still couldn't finish all the questions.
Fortunately, the English exam in the afternoon was relatively gentle, being the second easiest subject after Chinese, allowing his boiling brain to soothe for a moment and avoiding a catastrophic meltdown.
Counting it up, he had experienced the same College Entrance Exam twice, and this time was clearly much more stable than the one before he was reborn. Shen Weiyue believed that there would definitely be a good result in the end.
So, when he whistled and walked out of the school gate lightly, seeing the dejected Ye Lingtao, he was immediately put in a headlock by his bro.
"Damn, you beast, did you do really well? You're so happy?"
"Not really, there were still questions I couldn't do, I just guessed." Shen Weiyue pried his arm off and replied.
"Not really? Let me ask you, did you finish the math exam?" Ye Lingtao looked at him nervously.
"I finished it." Shen Weiyue paused, putting on a mask of pain, "I guessed the last big question."
"Except for the last question, you finished everything else? You're sure about them?" Old Ye's lips were trembling.
"Yeah~ basically."
"Damn you, you beast. Have you been 'absorbing' Zhao Qingyan too much, to the point of hallucinating? How could you possibly finish everything? You couldn't have finished everything; I asked three people, and none of them finished the second to last question."
"Is the School Beauty that fragrant? You 'absorb' her every day until you're hallucinating. Have you forgotten you're Cultural Reference? You don't have a... you know..."
Ye Lingtao grabbed Shen Weiyue's neck and shook him hard, completely unaware that Zhao Qingyan was standing behind him, looking at him with an unfriendly gaze.
"Taozi, you're done for."
"I know, you don't need to remind me. My math is already done for. You dog, you practice math with Zhao Qingyan every day, so you have the right to be arrogant..."
Before he could finish, with a 'bang,' a book hit him on the head, and in pain, he quickly turned around.
"Your mo... uh..."
The person he was talking about appeared, and Ye Lingtao didn't dare say a word, smiling awkwardly and dodging to the side.
Zhao Qingyan didn't look at him, only asking Shen Weiyue, "How did you do?"
"Although the questions were very difficult, I feel pretty good."
"How does it compare to the third mock exam?"
"It should be a bit better."
"That's good. See you when we fill out our preferences."
Their conversation was short and direct, leaving Ye Lingtao's Daoist heart shattered.
Once this fierce School Beauty left, he rubbed his hands and menacingly approached again.
"Pretty good, you feel pretty good, while I, your brother, bombed the test. Does what you're saying make sense? Ah, you beast..."
"Stop whining. Did you really do that badly?" Shen Weiyue suppressed him forcefully.
"Sigh, the people who wrote the questions aren't human. It's mainly math; I really have no confidence this time." Ye Lingtao sighed, "I'm not even sure if I can score 120."
"Since everyone thinks it's hard, why the hell are you worrying? It's over, so don't think about it. I can go online now; let's go have some fun together?"
"Let's go! To hell with it, it is what it is."
Ye Lingtao spat into the flowerbed and walked toward the Kaixin Internet Cafe first. After walking for a while, he hesitantly said:
"I think I'll check the answers in a bit; it'll give me some peace of mind."
"..."
The two arrived at Kaixin Internet Cafe, and there were no seats left.
The boss, picking his teeth, looked at the ID cards in his hand for the queue without even raising his head, saying, "There are still eight people ahead of you. Are you going to wait?"
"Not waiting. Wait for a hammer." Ye Lingtao and Shen Weiyue turned and left, "Let's go to the next one..."
After the College Entrance Exam, all the high schools in the county were liberated, and every internet cafe was packed. Shen Weiyue and Ye Lingtao walked for several miles before finding seats.
Ye Lingtao truly couldn't hold back and began searching for the reference answers online.
"Hey, I guessed this question right, haha."
"This one is right too, nice, nice, I'm safe."
"Damn, this question is wrong. How could it be D? That shouldn't be right; the reference answer must be wrong..."
He turned his head to see Shen Weiyue wearing headphones playing QQ Speed. Ye Lingtao took off his headphones and pointed at the computer for him to see, "You jerk, what's the answer to this question?"
"It's D." Shen Weiyue snatched back his headphones, ready to put them on.
Ye Lingtao stopped him, cursing, "Impossible, I think it's C."
"Moron, you just pick C for everything you don't know? You don't need your brain... give it here!"
He put on his headphones and continued racing, while Ye Lingtao was almost crying.
Sure enough, when he got to the end of checking the answers and saw that he had gotten most of the two big questions wrong, Ye Lingtao's Daoist heart was completely shattered, and he didn't say another word.
He gritted his teeth and started checking the answers for other subjects. Fortunately, the results were not bad, and his wounded heart received some consolation, finally regaining some color, so he slapped the table:
"Damn it, Shen the Dog, I'm going to race you!"
Shen Weiyue raised his eyebrows, eager to try, "Let's have a match. Best of three?"
"Yeah, QQ Speed. If you win, you treat me to barbecue skewers."
"Okay, I can pull an all-nighter tonight."
"Not just tonight, we'll continue tomorrow. Let's do it for three days and three nights, play until we're satisfied!"
Shen Weiyue shook his head, "Tomorrow doesn't work; I have something to do tomorrow."
Ye Lingtao was puzzled, "We're on break, what could you possibly have to do? What the hell are you doing?"
"That's none of your business." Shen Weiyue avoided answering.
Could he really tell this moron that he was going to celebrate his birthday with Liang Yuting tomorrow?
That would make his bro completely lose it.
