190: Unveiling
A month later, Thunderclap Valley.
Inside Infinite City's central command room.
On the giant holographic screen, Marshal Lin Yuan's calm face was reflected.
On the star map behind him,
countless blue arrows were poised, aimed directly at the Dark Star Empire's intricate defense lines.
"Su Jin, all nodes are ready," Lin Yuan's voice came through the encrypted channel.
"Youfeng Valley, Chiyan Pass, Blackwater River, and several other frontline positions have entered their final combat readiness state."
"According to the plan, they will, with the fiercest posture, attract Valerius's full attention when the general offensive begins."
"I'm also ready on my end."
Su Jin stood before the light screen, behind him was an equally massive sand table of the Southern Territory, with countless light points flowing within it.
"Grand Void Azurewood Palace's 'Sky-Peering Vine' network has established three hundred seventy-two temporary teleportation anchor points in the designated enemy-controlled areas."
"eternal star beacon's energy reserves have also reached saturation."
These three hundred seventy-two anchor points would be like three hundred seventy-two sharp daggers, hanging over the throat of the Empire's Southern Territory Army Group.
Their locations were defensive gaps that the Alliance forces had spent nearly half a year.
"Guiding" out step by step with the blood and sacrifice of countless soldiers.
"General, I plan to personally lead a team, targeting the flank of the Dark Star Throne, Howling Canyon."
Su Jin's finger lightly tapped on the sand table, and a treacherous terrain surrounded by mountains was magnified.
"Intelligence shows that the defense system there is relatively isolated, a soft spot in Valerius's entire defense line."
"Taking it down will threaten the enemy's central command."
Lin Yuan on the other side of the light screen was silent for a moment; he did not immediately agree.
"Su Jin, your Infinite City is the cornerstone of the entire 'Lighthouse' plan, a strategic hub that maintains all battlefields behind enemy lines."
Lin Yuan's tone became serious.
"If you go to the front line, and something goes wrong... the entire battle situation in the Southern Territory would be greatly affected."
He didn't question Su Jin's combat power.
Instead, he highlighted his strategic value as the 'Lighthouse' wielder, which was more important than the individual valor of any legendary powerhouse.
Su Jin understood his concerns and did not argue.
He simply raised his hand, palm upwards.
A faint glow appeared in his palm.
The light continuously extended and expanded, eventually transforming into a miniature, exquisitely beautiful projection of a world.
Mountains, rivers, sun, moon, and stars within it were all lifelike.
A vast and magnificent World Power, far exceeding that of an ordinary legendary rank, emanated from it.
Even through the light screen, it caused the projection of Lin Yuan, the Southern Territory Commander, to waver slightly.
Lin Yuan's gaze solidified.
He could clearly perceive the essence of that power.
"This is... a complete world?"
His voice revealed undisguised astonishment.
"The power I can now wield does not only come from myself."
Su Jin dispersed the projection in his palm, his tone calm.
"With it, unless an existence above Tier 17 is dispatched, no one can keep me."
"Moreover, my goal is not just to knock out one of their flanks."
He paused, then changed the subject.
"I heard that Sky Peak, the person in charge of 'Withering Shadows,' has been active near Howling Canyon recently."
"It's time to settle the old scores of Cloud City."
Lin Yuan looked at Su Jin, and after a long moment, he slowly nodded.
"Good."
"However, you must remember that your safety is also related to the guarantee of victory in the Southern Territory."
He no longer tried to dissuade him, "Howling Canyon is yours. Remember, the 'Beheading' plan, there is only one chance."
"Understood."
The communication was cut, and the light screen dissipated.
Su Jin walked out of the command hall and onto the city wall.
At this moment, Thunderclap Valley had transformed into a sea of light.
Outside the city.
Dozens of giant teleportation arrays, constructed by the Alliance's top formation masters and engineering units.
Were echoing Infinite City's eternal star beacon, operating at an unprecedented power.
Blinding light shot into the sky, illuminating the valley's night sky as bright as day.
Beside the light gates.
Were elite legions drawn from the Alliance headquarters and the other three major war zones of Molten Heart.
They included the 'Frost Giant' Legion from the Northern Territory, clad in frost-white power armor, leaving air condensed into ice crystals wherever they passed.
There was the 'Sandstorm' Legion from the Western Territory, riding giant sand scorpion mounts, exuding an aura of swirling sand.
And even the Royal Dragon Guard, directly dispatched from the Alliance headquarters, clad in dark gold dragon scale armor and wielding demon-slaying long spears...
Amidst the clanging echoes of iron boots on the ground and the low hum of the teleportation arrays.
These elite forces, these torrents of steel, entered the light gates without hesitation.
Rushing towards that vast graveyard, spanning hundreds of thousands of kilometers, already designated for the enemy.
On the city wall.
General Xiang had arrived beside Su Jin at some point, his crimson dragon armor reflecting the light with a blood-red glow.
"You little rascal, are you really going to poke Valerius in the kidney?"
General Xiang slammed his fist on the battlements, making a dull thud.
"General Xiang, I'm entrusting things here to you."
Su Jin turned around and patted his shoulder.
"Don't let me come back and find our base has been raided, and your jar of Dragon Blood Brew is gone."
"Go with confidence!"
General Xiang laughed heartily.
"With my Crimson Dragon Legion here, Thunderclap Valley will stand! Any fool who tries to touch Infinite City will have to ask my fist first!"
His laughter ceased, and he frowned again.
"But speaking of which."
"You specifically chose that godforsaken place, 'Howling Canyon,' besides it being a flank, is there something else special about it?"
"The terrain there isn't easy to fight in."
The smile on Su Jin's face faded slightly, his gaze fixed on the distance, as if penetrating endless space.
"Nothing much, I heard the scenery there is unique, and it's on the way... to settle an old score."
General Xiang heard this and heavily slapped Su Jin's back.
"Alright. Go on, give them a thorough chill to the bone."
"I've already warmed up your jar of 'Dragon Blood Brew,' when you return victorious, we won't stop until we're drunk."
"It's a deal."
Su Jin turned around.
Below the city wall, Infinite City's legion had assembled.
The heavy halberds of the Wanren Halberd Guards formed a chilling forest of steel.
The giant shields of the Furnace Iron Guards connected into an insurmountable barrier.
The Storm Dragon Horses beneath the Abyssal Thunder Dragon Riders impatiently pawed the ground, tiny electric arcs spitting from their nostrils.
......
Su Jin's gaze swept across the military formation, finally landing on Mu Yang, the commander of the Thousand Peaks Halberdiers.
"Mu Yang."
"My Lord," Mu Yang stepped forward, his figure as straight as a pine tree.
"While I'm away, I entrust Infinite City to your protection."
"Yes!" Mu Yang's reply was brief and powerful.
Su Jin nodded with satisfaction.
He said no more, stepping forward.
Before him, the void twisted.
A 'Void Gate' exclusive to Infinite City, shimmering with silver-blue light, silently opened.
He did not hesitate, leading his army into that deep vortex.
General Xiang watched the light gate slowly close.
He stroked his steel-bristle stubble, muttering to himself:
"Old scores? This kid, he really holds a grudge..."
"But, I like it!"
The final chapter of the card game, revealed by the first player.
The blade of beheading has already been unsheathed.
