79: Tenth-level Thought Weaver! Infinite City's Hunting Trap!

Infinite City, Lords Manor.

Su Jin was listening to Li Yi's report on the development of Adran World when his heart suddenly stirred, and he looked up.

A blurry black shadow appeared silently in the shadowy corner of the hall; it was Shadow One.

“My Lord,” Shadow One knelt on one knee.

“You’re back? How are things?” Su Jin gestured for Li Yi to wait and looked at Shadow One.

“It has been investigated. Four hundred kilometers to the southeast, a Three-Eyed Race territory has been discovered, named ‘Mind Nexus’.”

Shadow One reported concisely.

“Lord Marco, a Level 5 territory. Regular combat units are mainly Tier 4 Psionic Archers and Alloy Constructs, numbering around eight thousand.”

“Additionally, it has been initially determined that there are no less than thirty powerhouses above Tier 7.”

Su Jin nodded. Although these were somewhat troublesome, they were within expectations. It was normal for a Level 5 territory to have units above Tier 7 stationed there.

“Anything else?” Su Jin knew Shadow One’s style; his pauses often meant more important information.

“The strongest combat power in this territory is not the Lord’s army.”

Shadow One continued, “Instead, it is a team of twelve Three-Eyed Race ‘professionals’ who descended with Lord Marco.”

Shadow One paused: “Among them, one Tier 10 powerhouse has been confirmed, codenamed ‘Thought Weaver’.”

Su Jin’s finger, tapping on the table, paused.

Oh? Tier 10! Especially a Tier 10 powerhouse who is also a regional overlord, for the current Infinite City, this is a bit troublesome.

Although Bai Xiao had already reached the peak of Tier 10 and was about to break through to Tier 11.

But that was, after all, Infinite City’s trump card, an anomaly among Su Jin’s exclusive troops.

Indeed, no one who came to participate in the War of Hegemony was weak.

“Someone, notify all commanders to the conference room,” Su Jin ordered the guards outside the door.

......

Infinite City, Lords Manor, conference room.

The long, metallic conference table was cold and solemn, with Infinite City’s core generals seated on both sides.

Su Jin sat at the head of the table, his gaze sweeping over everyone.

“I believe everyone is aware of the situation.”

Su Jin's voice broke the silence.

“Four hundred kilometers to the southeast, the Three-Eyed Race’s Level 5 territory, ‘Mind Nexus’, led by Lord Marco, is not weak in strength.”

“The key is that they have a Tier 10 ‘Thought Weaver’ and a team of twelve professionals.”

After a brief silence!

“My Lord, it’s just Tier 10; it’s not like we haven’t killed one before.”

Stone Rock spoke with a booming voice, his honest face full of ease.

“Wasn’t Bashaka of Adran World also a hero? In the end, wasn’t he still dealt with by you, My Lord?”

“You big oaf!”

Zhui Yun glared at him exasperatedly,

“Bashaka was a native of the initial world, and at that time, he had just achieved gold rank. Even if he was a hero, can he compare to an elite of the Three-Eyed Race, one of the three overlords of Tianyu Realm?”

“They’ve come across realms to campaign; how could they not have some hidden means? What if it’s a troublesome magic-user, and you rush in to be cannon fodder?”

“Indeed,” Mu Yang’s steady voice rang out.

“Moreover, those who can come to Woma World are basically elite powerhouses; no one knows what hidden tricks they have.”

“For the first contact, we still need to be cautious. Otherwise, if they are not contained, and too many troops are lost during the battle, it will be troublesome, as we don’t have only one enemy.”

Stone Rock pouted and mumbled, “I know, I know, be cautious…”

Huo Jun took over the conversation.

“Shadow One’s intelligence mentioned that the opponent seems to have a plan to clear the surrounding areas, which might be our opportunity.”

“A Tier 10 powerhouse is certainly powerful, but not invincible. If we can lure him out of the city and defeat him in segments, our chances of winning will greatly increase. The key is, how to lure him?”

Everyone’s gaze simultaneously turned to Shadow One, who existed like a shadow in the corner.

Shadow One slightly raised his head, and after some thought, said, “We can try. The opponent has a clearing plan; this is an opportunity.”

“As long as we create ‘trouble’ that they cannot ignore yet find hard to grasp, perhaps we can lure the snake out of its hole.”

“Trouble?” Su Jin stroked his chin, his mind quickly considering possibilities.

The Three-Eyed Race is a civilization combining technology and psionics, and that ‘Thought Weaver’ is a Tier 10 powerhouse. Ordinary traps would probably be ineffective.

“Perhaps… this way.”

Su Jin’s eyes sparkled as he looked at Bai Xiao, “Let the Spirit Pivot Sword Envoys act. Clear out all the personnel from ‘Mind Nexus’ who come out to execute the ‘clearing plan’!”

“Most Spirit Pivot Sword Envoys have already advanced to Tier 6, and some have even reached Tier 7 or higher. Combined with their abilities, it should be enough!”

Su Jin said with a hint of playfulness, “If enough of them die, will that ‘Thought Weaver’ personally come out to see?”

Using absolutely efficient, silent, and invisible hunting to create an unknown, terrifying threat far beyond their expectations.

This would provoke a powerhouse’s anger and vigilance more than any elaborately set trap.

Especially when this threat directly interfered with their predetermined plans.

“Shadow One, you continue to monitor ‘Mind Nexus’, focusing on the movements of that ‘Thought Weaver’ and his team.”

“Once they show signs of leaving the city, immediately send word.”

“When the time is ripe, Bai Xiao will lead the team, and Stone Rock, Zhui Yun, you two each draw your most elite forces to form a hunting team, ensuring a successful strike!”

“Huo Jun, you lead the cavalry to support from the side, to prevent the enemy’s main army from moving out.”

“Yes!” The generals responded in unison, their voices filled with a chilling aura.

“Remember, our goal is a quick battle to gauge the quality of the Three-Eyed Race elites, to serve as a reference for subsequent plans. After dealing with the ‘Thought Weaver’ team, withdraw immediately.” Su Jin finally instructed, “Everyone, go prepare.”

......

Outside ‘Mind Nexus’ city, the sandstorm continued.

A Three-Eyed Race elite team, consisting of Tier 4 to Tier 6 Psionic Archers and one Tier 7 Psionic Guard, was vigilantly scanning the surrounding sand dunes and strange rocks.

The vertical pupils on their foreheads occasionally flickered with a faint blue light, attempting to capture any abnormal energy fluctuations.

“Captain, all clear.” A Psionic Archer reported.

The Tier 7 Captain nodded slightly, but his heart was not as calm as his exterior suggested.

Recently, there had been frequent disappearances of patrol teams, without even a trace of combat, as if they had been swallowed into thin air.

Lord Marco was greatly enraged by this and had ordered heightened vigilance.

The patrol range had been repeatedly shrunk, and even the clearing plan had been put aside.

Now, even their elite teams were being dispatched to investigate…

Just as he was distracted, an almost imperceptible sword light flashed across the void.

“Pfft!”

The vertical pupil on the forehead of the outermost Psionic Archer suddenly dimmed, and his body slumped silently, a tiny bloodstain appearing between his eyebrows.

“Enem…” Another archer was about to cry out when the second sword light followed, precisely slitting his throat.

The change happened too quickly; by the time the Tier 7 Captain barely sensed the subtle energy disturbance, several of his teammates had already fallen.

“Who’s there?!” The Captain roared, his psionic shield instantly activating around his body.

Responding to him was a highly condensed Soul Cry Slash.

A pale green, crescent-shaped shockwave tore through the air, carrying a searing heatwave, and fiercely struck his shield.

“Crack!”
