67: The Battle is Over! Shadow's Action
On the battlefield, the Goblin army's lines had already begun to collapse, and chaos spread like a plague.
"Haha… I knew it… the Lord is the strongest!"
Stone Rock's rough laughter echoed across the battlefield. Then, he slammed his massive shield, burning with molten flames, forward with a heavy thud, roaring:
"All troops—charge!!!"
"For Infinite City!"
"Kill!!!"
With the command given, the various legions charged like uncaged beasts, pouncing on the scattering Goblins!
Almost simultaneously with Stone Rock's order, behind the Goblin battle formation, Huo Jun's voice thundered.
"Azure Lightning Cavalry Guard! Charge with me!!"
Huo Jun led the way, his long spear flashing with lightning.
His warhorse neighed, its hooves sparking with electricity, transforming into a silver-white bolt of lightning that violently tore into the Goblins' chaotic formation!
Thunderous Charge!
Four thousand Azure Lightning Cavalry Guard followed closely, forming a massive wedge formation, like a red-hot branding iron piercing butter, instantly ripping a huge gap in the Goblin lines from the rear!
Cavalry spears swung, lightning flashed, and screams, bone-shattering sounds, and weapon clashes resounded in unison.
The electrostatic field left in their wake paralyzed any Goblins attempting to approach, rendering them unable to move, forcing them to watch helplessly as death descended.
As the rout began, the war gradually devolved into a one-sided massacre.
The Goblin army's morale had plummeted to rock bottom; they had lost their king, lost their command, lost their will to resist. Their only thought was to escape.
However, under the pursuit of the Infinite City legion, their escape became exceptionally difficult.
The once invincible Goblin army was now just a flock of lambs waiting to be slaughtered.
Shouts of killing, screams, clashing weapons, energy explosions… various sounds intertwined, converging into a bloody final chapter.
Goblin corpses littered the ground, and blood stained the scorched earth red.
When the last group of resisting Goblins was overrun by the Azure Lightning Cavalry Guard, the entire battlefield gradually quieted.
The surviving Goblin soldiers, less than a tenth of their original number, had discarded their armor and weapons, kneeling on the ground, trembling, having completely lost their courage to fight.
Su Jin's army began to clean up the battlefield, tallying the results, and gathering the surrendered Goblins.
Huo Jun, Stone Rock, Zhui Yun, and other commanders and heroes came to report back to Su Jin.
Their faces could not hide their excitement and reverence.
This battle was won too beautifully!
Especially the scene of Su Jin finally defeating Bashaka, which left an extremely deep impression on everyone.
That world-destroying strike completely solidified Su Jin's supreme position in their hearts.
"Lord, this battle was a great victory!" Huo Jun knelt on one knee, his voice clear, "The main Goblin force has been routed, and the remaining enemies, less than a thousand, have all disarmed and surrendered!"
Stone Rock and Zhui Yun also knelt on one knee in salute, their eyes filled with a fanaticism and awe that surpassed any words.
They followed a Lord who could truly create miracles!
Su Jin slowly descended from the sky, landing in front of everyone.
He glanced at the ravaged battlefield, then at the busy soldiers before him, an indescribable emotion welling up in his heart.
Victory, heavy yet real.
He nodded, his gaze falling on Huo Jun.
"Huo Jun, tally the battle losses and gather the prisoners."
He then added, "Also, send 'Shadow' to the Elf territory in Twilight Forest. I need to know the situation there."
"Understood!" Huo Jun immediately took the order and departed.
Su Jin then looked at Stone Rock and Zhui Yun.
"In this battle, your command was excellent, and your contributions are indispensable." Su Jin paused, then continued, "Issue an order: the entire army will rest and set up camp on the spot."
"Understood!" Stone Rock and Zhui Yun responded in unison, turning to relay the order.
Watching the three depart, Su Jin let out a soft breath. The continuous high-intensity combat had left even him feeling a bit tired.
.......
Deep within the Twilight Forest, the once vibrant Elf main court was now nothing but a ruin.
Moonlight cast a pale silver glow over the wreckage.
The air was filled with the smell of char and blood, mixing into a strange odor.
At this moment, dozens of blurred dark figures moved like phantoms through the shadows of the ruins; it was Su Jin's "Shadow" squad.
The leading Shadow made a gesture, and the squad immediately dispersed, searching forward in a fan shape.
They moved silently through collapsed pillars and withered vines, their eyes scanning every corner.
Soon, the squad regrouped in a corner of the ruins, their target a relatively intact prison entrance leading underground.
The entrance was dimly lit, and faint shouts could be heard from below.
A few Goblin infantrymen were gathered by the entrance, their weapons carelessly placed aside, looking somewhat listless.
"Why do they get to go with King Bashaka to fight that human lord?" a thin-faced Goblin complained in a low voice, his tone full of strong resentment.
Next to him, a slightly sturdier Goblin leaned lazily against the cold stone wall, letting out a disdainful snort from his nose.
"Go with them?"
He tilted his head, giving his complaining companion a look as if he were an idiot, his tone full of undisguised mockery.
"With your thin arms and legs, you're like a scrawny monkey that would fall over with a gust of wind."
"You wouldn't even be enough to stick in their teeth."
The thin-faced Goblin's face instantly turned a pig-liver color.
He felt greatly insulted, spittle almost flying onto the other's face.
"You… you're talking nonsense!"
"I've at least cut down Elves before!"
"You idiot, what are you saying!"
"If you have the guts, come outside and spar with me! I'll beat the shit out of you!"
The stout Goblin was enraged, he suddenly straightened up, his leather armor on his chest rubbing together.
"Spar then, spar!"
"Who's afraid of whom?!"
"I've disliked you for a long time!"
"Good, a chance to stretch my muscles!"
The two Goblins glared at each other, swords drawn, almost coming to blows.
However, the next moment, their movements and voices ceased abruptly.
The complaining Goblin felt a chill on his neck, and his vision spun.
The other Goblin was just about to turn his head when a dark dagger deeply pierced his eye socket.
The few others didn't even realize what had happened before their throats were simultaneously slit by several dark figures that flashed out of the shadows.
Pfft! Pfft!
The faint sound of sharp blades entering flesh was almost covered by the night wind.
There were no screams, no struggles, only soft falling bodies and gradually spreading pools of blood.
The Shadows did not hesitate, flowing like water into the prison.
Inside the prison, the light was dim, and the air was foul.
Most of the surviving Elves huddled in corners, their eyes vacant, their bodies bearing wounds.
When the cold prison door was silently opened, and several agile figures, like messengers of the dark night, appeared in the doorway.
The Elves were first terrified, then a faint spark of hope ignited in their eyes.
Liora was among them. She leaned against the cold stone wall, her emerald eyes dull, her face, stained with dust and blood, filled with weariness and despair.
When she saw those figures, clearly not Goblins, she suddenly looked up, clenching her fists, her body unconsciously tensing.
The Shadows said nothing, merely unfastened the Elves' restraints and kept watch over their surroundings.
One of the Shadows walked up to Liora, bowed slightly, and offered a small healing potion.
Liora looked at the dark figure, then at the potion, hesitating for a moment before finally taking it, asking in a hoarse voice.
"Who… sent you?"
The Shadow did not answer, only made a gesture to invite her to follow…
