49: The magnificent trend and the soul burial are shocking!

Three days passed in a flash.

Outside Infinite City, banners fluttered and armor gleamed.

Su Jin stood with his hands behind his back on the city gate tower, his gaze calmly sweeping over the scene below.

Outside the city, the massive army formation had already assembled, and a chilling aura permeated the air.

On the left flank, Zhui Yun and his Riftwind Archers, along with two thousand Strong Bow Soldiers, stood with bows in hand, the arrowheads in their quivers glinting coldly in the morning light, like disseminators of death.

In the center, Stone Rock’s Heavy Shield Guards and Mithril Heavy Shield were at the front, shields tightly interlocked, forming an endless wall of steel. Behind them were Mu Yang’s Zhenyue Halberd Guard and Halberd Warriors, their long halberds like a forest, radiating murderous intent.

On the right flank were Huo Jun’s Azure Lightning Cavalry Guard, thousands of cavalry silent as mountains, subtle arcs of electricity flickering on the bodies of both men and mounts. The air seemed to be filled with a suppressed thunderous aura, waiting only for a command to transform into a surging, furious tide.

Bai Xiao stood not far behind Su Jin, surrounded by ninety-nine Spirit Pivot Sword Servants, their auras restrained.

As for the fifty ‘Shadows’, they had already spread out, scouting the movements around Goblin King City.

Looking at this powerful army he had personally forged, even Su Jin felt a surge of excitement in his heart.

He no longer delayed, raising his hand, his voice cold: “Advance!”

Boom—!

Huo Jun waved his long spear, and the Azure Lightning Cavalry Guard led the charge, their heavy hooves thundering across the ground like muffled drums, kicking up a cloud of dust as they headed south towards Sunset Plain.

Subsequently, the central infantry formation began to move. Shield-bearers in front, their steps steady, each footfall seemingly striking the same invisible war drum, causing the earth to tremble. Halberd Warriors followed closely, their long halberds forming a dense forest, and as the formation moved, the steel torrent slowly began to advance.

The archer units on the left flank also started marching, maintaining their distance from the center.

Finally, Bai Xiao and the Spirit Pivot Sword Servants guarded Su Jin, moving south with the main force.

The army set out, banners unfurling, covering the sky and sun, surging majestically towards Sunset Plain, their target directly Goblin King City!

.......

Sunset Plain, Goblin King City.

This magnificent city, built by the Goblins with the full strength of their entire race, had walls over twenty meters high, thick and formidable, covered with crenellations and ballista emplacements. Every ten meters or so, arrow towers stood tall.

A thick, earthy yellow magical glow flowed over the surface of the city walls, clearly imbued with powerful defensive magic.

On the city walls, Goblin soldiers stood densely packed. Unlike common weak and small Goblins, most of these defenders were stout, clad in fine iron heavy armor, their eyes fierce and vigilant.

In the arrow tower directly above the city gate, Grom wore a set of heavy plate armor, tightly gripping a crimson long spear in his hand.

He gazed at the slowly approaching army on the horizon, a look of solemnity flashing in his single eye.

“Woo—!!”

A desolate horn blast echoed over Goblin King City, and the defensive facilities on the city walls were activated one after another.

Huge ballistae were cranked taut, their shining bolts aimed at the distance, and various arrow towers lit up with magical glows of different attributes.

Goblin archers on the city walls drew their bows, nervously watching the approaching enemy.

The massive Infinite City army formation slowly halted about one kilometer from Goblin King City.

The army of over ten thousand men was utterly silent, only the banners fluttering in the wind, an invisible pressure, like a tangible tide, surging and crashing against Goblin King City.

Su Jin stood at the front of the army, gazing at the rugged and majestic Goblin King City, and the Goblin defenders standing ready on its walls.

He could clearly sense their tension and their determination to fight to the death.

“Grom…” Bai Xiao, standing beside Su Jin, whispered the two words, clearly having sensed the aura of the eighth-tier expert on the city wall.

Su Jin nodded slightly, his expression calm.

His serene voice reached the ears of the several commanders and Bai Xiao beside him: “A relic of the old era, a group of ants making a last stand.”

He paused, his gaze sharpening: “Since we are announcing our arrival to this world, there is no need for probing, no need for schemes. We shall simply crush them with overwhelming might!”

Su Jin’s gaze turned to Bai Xiao: “Bai Xiao, tell them in the most direct way that a so-called strong city is nothing in the face of absolute power.”

“Yes, my Lord,” Bai Xiao bowed and accepted the order.

The next moment, he moved slightly, appearing outside the army formation, alone, walking towards Goblin King City.

His pace was not fast, one could even say it was leisurely, forming a stark contrast with the grim and solemn army formation behind him.

The Goblin generals on the city wall were first startled, then burst into sneers.

“Hahahaha! Look! What is that guy in white trying to do? Does he think he can attack the city alone?”

“He must be scared silly, right? Has he never seen our great Lord Grom?”

“Lord Grom, let your subordinates go out and kill him!”

“I don’t even think we need to act; the archers on the wall are enough!”

..........

However, Grom suddenly raised his hand, stopping his subordinates’ clamor. His single eye was fixed on the slowly approaching figure in white, and a strong sense of unease welled up in his heart.

This person… was too calm! Facing the entire Goblin army in the city, he showed no fear whatsoever; his posture was as if he were not walking onto a battlefield, but into his own courtyard.

This abnormal demeanor made Grom, a seasoned veteran of countless battles, catch a whiff of extreme danger.

“Silence! Stay vigilant!” Grom roared in a low voice, suppressing the noise on the city wall.

Although the Goblin generals were somewhat displeased, awed by their commander’s authority, they grudgingly shut their mouths, though they still watched the approaching figure with mocking and disdainful eyes.

At about two hundred meters from the city wall, Bai Xiao stopped.

He raised his head, his indifferent gaze sweeping over the densely packed, ferocious-looking Goblins on the city wall, finally settling on the huge, thick, and seemingly impregnable black rock fine iron city gate.

It was said that this black rock fine iron was one of the hardest known materials on the Adlan Continent, and this city gate was entirely made of it.

“The weak… should look up to the strong.”

His voice was not loud, yet it carried a strange penetrative power, clearly reaching the ears of every Goblin.

The city wall instantly fell silent, laughter ceasing abruptly, and all Goblins unconsciously held their breath. An inexplicable chill crawled up their spines.

The next moment, under countless gazes of doubt and apprehension, Bai Xiao’s figure disregarded the laws of gravity and slowly floated upwards.

He hovered in mid-air, his right hand gently resting on the hilt of his sword at his waist.

“God Liberation.”

The two words exploded like thunder in the silent battlefield.

Boom—!!!

An indescribably terrifying wave of energy erupted from Bai Xiao, spreading out in all directions!

White-gold spiritual pressure swept like a tsunami, the air violently twisting and vibrating, as if space itself trembled and groaned before this immense power!

The spiritual pressure flames coiling around him suddenly intensified a hundredfold, coalescing into a pair of massive, magnificent wings, seemingly made of pure light, slowly unfurling behind him!

As the light wings flapped, an invisible storm seemed to be brewing. That boundless spiritual pressure even made the distant Infinite City army feel a heavy pressure, and the soldiers unconsciously tightened their grip on their weapons, their eyes filled with awe.

The Goblins on the city wall were completely stunned. Their mouths hung open, the mockery and disdain on their faces long replaced by shock and terror. The oppressive aura, as if capable of crushing souls, made them feel like ants in a raging storm, tiny and helpless.

“What… what kind of power is this?!”

“A god… a god?”

“Quick! Quick, attack! Shoot arrows! Use the ballistae!!”

A Goblin officer, recovering from his extreme shock, shrieked orders at the top of his lungs.

However, it was already too late.

Bai Xiao, suspended in mid-air, slowly raised his right hand. He did not draw his sword, but merely pointed his fingers like a sword towards the black rock fine iron city gate, which the Goblins were so proud of.

The light wings behind him suddenly vibrated, and the light in the surrounding space twisted and collapsed.

An aura even deeper and more unsettling than before began to converge.

Countless pale, ethereal, and real phantom souls shrieked and wailed, emerging from nothingness, as if drawn by an invisible force, frantically gathering at his fingertips.

They twisted and merged, finally transforming into a surging, roaring, pale torrent radiating ultimate death and annihilation!

Soul Burial Tribulation!

It was a river of death formed by countless despairing souls, carrying a terrifying power capable of annihilating all life and matter, surging towards the city gate of Goblin King City!
